This is a relaxed summer read. There is not a lot of drama except the funny kind. Charlie puts everyone off at first, but he can't stand up to Nicola's kindness for long. I enjoyed all the secondary characters, too.

This is the second book in the Pennycress inn series and can easily be read as a standalone, although i will say it is so much more enjoyable when you have read the first and you also get to see what past characters are up to which is lovely.

Nicola returns to her home village of meadowfield and is happy taking part in local activities, the whole village if looking forward to the summer canival and she is tasked with asking the local farmers to lend their tractors and trailers, which should be an easy task....that is until she meets Charlie who is there on a break from the city and is trying to get his uncles farm fixed up so he can sell it on quickly. and he has absolutely no interest in whatever the locals are getting up to.

I love the chemistry and banter between these two and i really cannot wait for more from Pennycress inn, i have my fingers crossed!

Not realizing this was part of a series, until I started it, it wasn't confusing and easy to follow. Not necessarily a stand alone, but could be read as one. I loved being back in Meadowfield where Nicola has lived her entire life. She now is working at Pennycress Inn after it had been refurbished.

The carnival which takes place every year is just around the corner and the whole village is getting involved.

Jill, has a lot to do, so Nicola offers to help her by going to see local farmers, they’ve always lent their tractors and trailers every year. But, what she didn’t expect to find was someone else in charge at one of the farms. Farmer Charlie is now in charge of Little Mead Farm after his uncle passed away.

He has no intention of getting involved with the carnival and has planned on selling the farm. Following her visit, she sees a different side to him after a few days and slowly a friendship begins between them.

I loved the setting, the characters, especially the animals.

I recommend this book.

I just loved this book! Once I started reading this book I just couldn’t put it down. It’s such a heartwarming read with amazing characters as well. I just love this series and I really hope that there is another book in this series to come.

I would highly recommend reading this book and the previous book in this series as they are such heartwarming reads.

To be completely honest, this wasn't for me. It wasn't a bad book. It's a small town romance with a very Hallmark feel. It was sweet. It was just a little slower paced than I personally like and I hard a hard time engaging with the characters. I did, however, love the addition of Claudette. She was so fun.

I didn’t realize this was the second book in a serious but didn’t find it hard to follow along. This was so sweet! Absolutely charming and made me feel all the small town vibes. This is the perfect book for the summer! I’ll definitely be reading the first book in the series!

Yay a sequel! I was delighted to revisit the Pennycress Inn - for some new romance, some new drama and some adventure.

A lovely cosy read, great characters and a strong storyline. I loved seeing what the inn was up to and I enjoyed the enemies to lovers element, along with a few laughs. I really thought this was just fabulous and the perfect book to curl up with a cup of tea and lose yourself for a few hours.

i mean if you havent fallen in love with the cover then what are you lot even doing here? because this book starts off with a win just for the beauty of the covers. Sarah Hope writes gorgeous books. and i dont want to be totally sappy but the clue is literally in the name, or her name should i say. because these books fill us with goodness and HOPE. now that isnt to say they dont come with some stonkers of realistic troubles. but its the telling of a good place, a good plot, and good characters that you still find yourself loving the books so much you want to be adopted by the village and taken to live there.
this is the second in the series but it cover a new ladies story so easy to follow along if this is your first time at this gorgeous village. the village we are at in the Costwolds and we are located at the Pennycress Inn. we are with Nicola this time who has down, lost and wanting to get herself healed and on track again. more than anything she is heart sore.
Nicola goes to work at the Inn which holds lots of warmth and comfort for her as she grew u there as her mum managed the place. its now in the hands of Laura. Laura we all know from book one when she had her story to tell.
things seem to be going ok. she is dipping her toes back into life and the community enjoying helping out where she can. the most pressing thing is her aid in the carnival. she has been tasked with getting local farmers to let the carnival borrow their vehicles.
and this is where we meet Charlie. hes a newcomer himself but definitely not for warm and fuzzy reasons. hes here to get out of here as fast as he can. that is after he has sold his inherited dads farm. he has zero interest in helping local events! so lets just say im and Nicola dont kick it off as instant buddies. but over time they keep running or being pushed into each other vortex. and Nicola sees the kind and truly kind of lovely man underneath all the brash exterior he protects himself to the world with.
but this wont last. hes here only so he can leave. and there is more at play here to put hurdles in their way. but i did love reading their story. and was worried what would happen in the end. no matter how many romance i read you just dont know do you!?

Really lovely read from Sarah Hope, the second I’ve read featuring Pennycress Inn, and I thoroughly enjoyed it as much as the first . Lovely idyllic setting, fabulous characters , good storyline very well written. Recommended

Sweet, predictable but no less enjoyable for it.

The story of Nicola, who has returned to working in the little inn that she lived in as a child when her mum ran it. Following the discovery of her former fiancé’s affair, Nicola is enjoying life living in her cute cottage in the pretty village of . While planning for the local fete and its floats, she finds herself heading to Little Mead farm to ask Farmer Williams for the loan of a couple of trailers for the village to use. But when she gets there, she finds grumpy nephew Charlie there instead…

This is exactly the kind of story that you would expect from its title and sugared-almond coloured cover but it’s charming and the characters, who you may remember from Welcome to Pennycress Inn, are lovely. A gentle, romantic, sweet read but one with runaway sheep, horrible exes and a bit of jeopardy thrown in.

It’s a lovely book to read with a cuppa in the sunshine.

This is one of those predictable small town romance books, which is just what I wanted to read. I’m not knocking it, it knows what it is and does it well but I did feel that it was slightly rushed in places and that the story could have been a bit longer to ensure that all the threads came together.

Now before we get into the nitty gritty of this storyline Falling in Love at Pennycress Inn is best to say this is an Ahhh sort of book that looks at love, love gone sour, cats, along with life in a small village and has wide appeal to the romantic in us all.
Nicola Fields has had her love life trashed, broken into little pieces by her long time, but cheating partner Nathan. She is heart sore but slowly accepting the changes in her life are for the better.
She has a job working at the Pennycress Inn, a place she grew up as her mother managed the Inn for many years. She enjoys working in familiar surroundings and gets on well with the new owner, Laura.
The Village is getting set to put the annual Meadowfield Carnival created and managed by Nicola’s friend Jill for several years. Nic is coopted in to help and asked to go and visit the owner of Little Mead Farm to ask for his assistance about borrowing the trailers and space to do them up for the Carnival.
The visit is a disaster; she discovers Farmer Williams is dead and his nephew Charlie, is getting the farm ready for sale. He is not happy about wasting time with local events.
As the weeks tick past he and Nicola are thrown into each other’s pathways through circumstance and find they have a lot in common, which includes heartbreak and trusting people. When Nicola begins to believe in a happy every after with Charlie things begin to go badly wrong, leaving heartbreak once again her constant companion.
Falling in Love at the Pennycress Inn is a romance for romantics that love a wealth of detail in the plot line, a slow burn of a story and a happy ending.

This latest instalment set in the Cotswold village of Meadowfield is a lovely heartwarming read. Nicola has lived in the village all her life and now works at the newly refurbished Pennycress Inn. The whole village get on board with the yearly carnival. When she offers to help friend Jill to check in with local farmers who have always lent out their tractors and trailers she doesn’t count in coming face to face with Farmer Charlie who has taken over Little Mead Farm after the death of his uncle. However he is grumpy, doesn’t want to get involved and is planning to sell up. Nicola then unexpectedly sees a more caring side to him and tentatively a friendship between them starts to grow……..

Readers, I have a new favourite series and it is the Pennycress Inn books. They are sweet and charming, set in a small Cotswold village, and they provide all the toe curling moments that make my sweet romantic heart soar. I just love them!

I read the first book, Welcome to Pennycress Inn, earlier this month and it was so adorable. It saw new inn owner, Laura, buying an inn and trying to settle into her new life... which of course had a couple of bumps in the road! Fast forward and now I'm on book two, which is all about Laura's new employee, Nicola.

Nicola grew up at Pennycress Inn and she's so excited to be working there again in the home she grew up in. She has wonderful family and friends, and they are helping her put her life back together after she found her ex-fiance cheating on her. However, the real test is going to be upcoming carnival and whether she can convince newcomer, Farmer Charlie, to help out.

I love these books from Boldwood Books. They are sweet romances, set in small villages, and are everything I imagine England to be. There is zero spice and it's all everything is nice, except for a little turbulence on the way to a delightful Happily Ever After. What's even better is that you can visit the characters in the next book.

I loved Nicola and Charlie's story. It is very much grumpy sunshine on the surface, but Farmer Charlie definitely has layers, and it was a delight to see them interact. If you've read the first book you will be familiar with Claudette, the runaway sheep in the village. Well in Falling in Love at the Pennycress Inn Claudette tries to run the show and she almost gets away with it! Chasing a sheep through the preparations for a carnival? It's a laugh a minute!

If you love sweet romances you need to grab these books. I'm definitely going to be digging through Sarah Hope's backlist, as I've really enjoyed these first two books.

Nicola meets the new farmer in town and things get off to a very rocky start. But the more time they spend together, the stronger the feelings grow. This was super cute small town romance. I think my only deduction in rating is because I didn’t read the first one and these are kind of connected. I’m sure some of what I didn’t understand was due to that as well. Overall I did enjoy this!
