First off, I have to say I was really impressed with this audiobook, it had a full cast of narrators which was really unique. I felt as though I was listening to a play or the old Radio Mystery Theatres (iykyk). I found it really fun and interesting.

The book was a mix of mystery, thriller and supernatural. It contained multiple povs in two timelines and wasn't at all hard to follow. It had a very diverse cast of characters and was fast paced for the most part. There was a bit of everything in here; family drama, toxic relationships, dark magic, witches and a religious cult. The synopsis initially drew me in, though I was wary because I wasn't familiar with the author and her previous work seemed to be YA fantasy which is not really for me. However, I'm so glad I took a chance on this.

I struggled with my rating on this one. I think the audiobook made this such a special experience (total 5⭐), that the reader wouldn't get from the book alone. So I decided to rate the book itself at 4⭐. If you decide to give this one a try I truly recommend the audiobook.

Psychosis Diagnosis by Nikki Minty, with multiple narrators this audiobook catches you from the beginning and keeps you there abused Monroe is trying to hold on until the summer when he can move with his sister get a job and be free of his abusive parents but when his neighbor Indiana comes over and tells him of the terror she’s living in he wants to help only his attempt to help leads him to the mental hospital. When he gets out of the hospital he wants to prove that not only is he not crazy but Indiana does exist but, is in trouble. The story is set in 1998 and before and as it bounces from New Orleans to Australia the story and falls but where the story ends is almost unrecognizable from the beginning this is a great horror story and there is just too much to give a brief summary I mean being in a cult is one thing But a cult with superpowers is totally another. This was such an awesome read I have never heard of this author before but I will definitely read more from them in the future. I love the Australian accent in general and the fact of the narrators were Australian made it that much better. It was so good what more can I say I totally recommend this book it has horror supernatural happenings and a great plot. I found that this story really didn’t flow well, and slightly over dramatic at times.
Narration is fantastic

(4.5) This book follows multiple POVs in two main timelines and locations in two countries, but it does it all seamlessly. It starts out from the POV of 17-year old Monroe, who was raised by a drug-addicted mother and is planning to move out as soon as he turns 18. Shortly before, however, he meets a girl named Indi, around his age, who complains of an abusive father and who wants to escape the religious cult her family belongs to. They plan to run away together, but the morning they are supposed to leave together, Monroe can't find Indi and her father denies her very existence! Monroe attacks her father and is then sent to a psychiatric ward with a psychosis diagnosis. When he finally gets out a year later, he goes looking for Indi to find out what became of her, but it is not as straightforward a quest as it seems. A variety of characters tell the story, each revealing parts of the story or the lies they believe, leaving the reader guessing who has the right pieces of the puzzle and how they fit together.

I read this book primarily as an audiobook because the narration was just SO GOOD and engaging!! There was a large cast of FIVE narrators to cover female and male characters and a variety of accents that added so much to the story! I rarely have a preference between audio and physical reading, but in this case, I have to recommend the audio! The voice actors even screamed or moaned when it was written in the description, which really added to the atmosphere and made the story come alive. The only things I could critique were that the child's voice didn't sound like a child (but he only had a few lines) and in one scene I couldn't differentiate between Enzo's and Jeremiah's voices. Other than that, it was better than I could have imagined! 5/5 narration!

I'm not sure if this is due to the stellar narration or the engaging writing, but I couldn't believe how quickly the nearly-12 hours flew by! I need more books like this!

Style (0.75): The style of writing was concise and clear in a way that I think is appropriate for the genre while still evoking the right level of mystery and confusion (about the plot, not the writing). It was also written from multiple POVs, but it didn't annoy me, as can often happen with multiple POVs. They all added significant substance to the plot. Though it tells the story very clearly, it could have used some of that flowery prose I love to describe some of the imagery.

Plot (0.75): It was a well-paced mystery/thriller with some horror and supernatural elements that I loved. I love a good psychological thriller with a potentially unreliable narrator that plays with my mind and keeps me guessing. The plot twists weren't too surprising, but I still enjoyed them! The ending also felt very tidy and complete.

Atmosphere/Setting (1): In the end, I listened to the audiobook and the variety of narrators and accents really added to the atmosphere immensely! That is not to say that the atmosphere wasn't already well described in the prose. Despite jumping timelines, POVs, and locations, everything felt well-connected and I could easily separate them in my mind's eye.

Characters (1): I liked the variety of characters in this book. We were never sure who to trust, who was telling the truth, or who knew the whole truth. In reality, (I think) all the characters knew only parts of the truth and it was fun to see them all try to put the pieces together.

Enjoyment (1): I fully enjoyed this book! It was a little different from what I normally read, but I was very glad for the change!

This was a wild ride! It took me a little bit to get into the story since there was a lot of background information at the start but once the pieces started coming together I was hooked! The narrators did an amazing job of bringing the story to life and giving personality to each of the characters. I appreciated all the various accents and switching of POVs to keep me entertained.

There were so many twists and turns I was always guessing what was next and who the true villains were. As someone who is not religious, the way the cult members blindly followed Jeremiah was how I imagine a lot of religious people are. It brought a real element to the story and I kept rolling my eyes at the stupidity of the group members at times. I wanted to feel so bad for Enzo and really hoped that he had a redemption arc but he was just as corrupt as Jeremiah in the end.

I LOVED the idea of this book and the story itself was great points. The narrators were great and that is truly where my 3 star rating is coming from. This is definitely a YA book based on the writing even with the context being more adult, it definitely read YA. I also at times was confused and got lost in the story but other times were great and had the horror and thriller aspect of the book, which is what drew me to the book in the first place. I wanted to LOVE this book completely but unfortunately it lacked in some places for me.

This book intrigued me with its premise but left me feeling mixed overall.
The concept is super compelling. A futuristic society where mental illness is criminalized, teens labeled as "psychotic" are locked away and subjected to intense “rehabilitation.” That hook? So strong. And I loved the questions it raised about identity, sanity, and how society defines “normal.”

The main character was sometimes frustrating because she was unreliable, but watching her try to figure out what’s real and what’s not was one of the highlights of the book.

However, the pacing was uneven. The middle dragged, and some reveals that should have been big just didn’t hit the mark. I wanted more development from the side characters, and the romance felt a little forced rather than earned.

Psychosis Diagnosis is a supernatural thriller that blends themes of trauma, addiction, and the occult. It follows a young man raised in a toxic environment who becomes obsessed with saving the abused girl next door—only to discover no one believes she exists. As he uncovers ties to a sinister cult, reality begins to blur.

Told through multiple POVs and timelines, the story gives a broader look at the characters’ experiences, though the frequent shifts can feel a bit jarring. The cult elements and psychological tension are intriguing, but the relationships between characters lacked depth, making some of the emotional beats fall flat.

Overall, this had a strong premise and eerie atmosphere, but uneven execution kept it from reaching its full potential. A decent pick for fans of dark, supernatural thrillers.

What an absolute joy to listen to the audiobook for this story! The cast did a fantastic job, and the story transported me flawlessly right in the middle of the action. Huge thanks to the author and Netgalley for the opportunity to review it. The dual timeline and multiple POVs painted such a nice picture in my head that I never wanted to end. I felt a whole slew of emotions listening to the story. I was rooting for Monroe and was so intrigued to find out what happened to Indi! Very Midnight Mass TV show vibes that I absolutely ate up! Let the story take you where it takes you, you won't be disappointed. Found myself a new author to follow for sure!

The narrators did a great job on this, and I love that it was a full cast.

This was my first “horror” book, and I liked it more than I expected to. I do think that the magic part of it took away from the scary element of it, but that might just be a me problem. I also liked the multi-timeline part too!

I was intrigued by this book because the blurb sounded really interesting, and I was definitely not dissapointed!
All the different narrators managed to have me hooked to the story from the start.

I really liked all the characters from the start, and loved seeing all the different timelines and how they slowly came together and we started to see connections.

The worldbuilding was also really amazing, and it felt like you were right next to the characters in the building.

I also really enjoyed the writing which made the story a fun and quick read.

Can definitely recommend!

This was such a fun and interesting read. I love reading horrors/thrillers but this was my first audiobook and the multiple narrators made the book soooo fun to read. It was such and immersive experience and it reads like a movie. I love that throughout the book we as readers are in the dark and we get to learn things along with the characters and know more because we are getting so many perspectives. The plot twists and the mystery is so good and I couldn't stop listening. I can't wait for this book to be on my shelf. The story, the character development, the narration, everything was so good! The characters had such good depth and connection too.

I tried a few times to get into this book, but for some reason it didn't quite click with me, it's not a bad book by any means, and having different narrators for the different characters is really good and effective, it just wasn't enough for me to get hooked

Phew this book was an absolute ride from start to finish!! And I loved it.

There are a lot of threads to this story and it would have been easy for the whole thing to feel convoluted and confusing, but the threads are woven so masterfully that the story made sense, even though I spent so much of it scratching my head and wondering what the heck was going on.

I loved the suspense in the middle where we start to wonder how reliable our narrators really are. Are they all off their rockers? And yet there's a supernatural threads that makes almost ANYTHING possible.

Even once the mystery is mostly solved, there's still a super suspenseful question of will the villain keep getting away with it? Will the right people believe what's happened?

Honestly just a masterful mystery, a surreal reading experience, and Monroe manages to be a sympathetic protagonist even when you're questioning everything he's said. I really enjoyed this from start to finish and will absolutely be checking out more of Minty's work.

Additionally, I listened to this on audio, and man, the cast is top notch. The accents (especially for Enzo's POV chapters) were SO rich and the narrators all added so much depth to their parts. Just so well performed and i think the narration and different voices are part of what made the whole story easier to keep track of and less confusing than if it had only been one narrator. super well performed and produced.

Wow, there's just a bit o f everything in this book! Horror mixed with thriller vibes, and add in some mystery. Clear the calendar when you start this one, it's a hard one to stop once you're started. The twists and turns keep coming throughout the book. Characters are diverse and descriptions are vivid.

The narrator did a really great job and I did really enjoy this one. I was hooked from the beginning and kept trying to figure out if the main character was actually loosing his mind or if what was happening was real...which I kind of think was the point. I had to keep flipping pages to figure things out ans get to the end. If you're looking for a psychological thrillers, I highly recommend.

This gets a solid 4.75 stars: SO GOOD WTF!!! Everyone that likes mystery NEEDS to read this ASAP. This just misses being a 5 star for no specific reason other than it just didn't quite feel like one.

The narrators were simply phenomenal, the accents, the way they brought everything and everyone to life simply chefs kiss!
This story is a multiple POV story with a very interesting present and past dynamic. You have to uncover many dark secrets in order to get to the bottom of the mystery. Monroe is our lead POV and not only, he is a teenager, that has a rough upbringing, trying to save a girl, gets himself in more trouble, and the story and mystery unfold. If you know me I do not spoil and this story is a puzzle that you have to put together and trust your instincts.

The audio book was 10/10. I do think the audio book made this experience better. I think the story was good and the twists, spooky element, family secrets, and mystery were all well done, but I can see how this would have been a little confusing to follow without audio with the different timelines and characters.... The narration was superb.
