This is one of those books that will stay with you for a long time. 5 people who, on paper, don't seem to fit but in reality are exactly what each other needs. They each have their own secrets and thoughts and dreams and are able to share these as a group. As with most teenagers, their lives don't run smoothly but with support from friends, things get back on track again. All 5 stories are heartfelt and emotional and all together the stories are entwined in a very clever way. An absolutely superb book.

A mesmerising read that drew me in from page 1. Beautiful author craft, a captivating story and some really great characters.

In short, I loved this. From idea to execution I thought it was great. The characters feel well fleshed out and their independent stories come together to form something really quite lovely and poignant. I particularly enjoyed Tim's chapter. The translation is beautiful, as someone that understands some Welsh (but that doesn't speak it fluently) I appreciated that there was still little bits of Welsh sprinkled throughout. Whilst The Five is about young adults and their journeys, I think the book has appeal for a wider audience than YA readers, particularly in Wales.

Thank you to Netgalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.
