Love, love, loved this!! The whole trad wife lifestyle is fascinating and it's brilliantly written at showing what really goes on behind closed doors. A fantastic tale of back stabbing, lies, deceit and the unbreakable bonds of female friendship. Absolutely fab, I devoured it!

Very interesting and enjoyed the influencer drama and people realising how fake everyone can make it behind the camera. I think it’s defo for fans of Trad Wife content or the tv show Secret Lives of Mormon Wives

I don't ever find myself on the momfluencer or tradwife side of the internet and yet after watching a documentary series on Ruby Franke earlier this year and also Scamanda I am well aware that what we see online isn't always as it seems.
I do enjoy a thriller book based around influencers and this one started really well although it did lose steam for me as it got to the end. However I didn't predict what was happening at all and there was a really good reveal. I would definitely read from the author again.

i've never read any of Jo Piazzas books before but i immediately know why she's a bestseller after reading my ARC copy of Everyone Is Lying To You.

you just know it's a good popcorn thriller when i have to immediately go to my wife and tell about it for a full hour after closing the book at the end. in fact, i'd actually love to see a mini series made of this story and literally watch with popcorn.

the characters are all deeply unlikeable (positive) and you have absolutely no idea what's going on most of the time (also positive) and they way the answers are revealed with the switching of POVs and old memories and police interviews makes it so exciting to follow along.

i was also mildly hesitant that this at any point would be pro-tradwife/pro-momfluencer and i would hate it a little but i can guarantee that is NOT the case in this book. you are definitely meant to hate these people even if they're very technically the 'good guys' of the thriller.

5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I love a good crime thriller, and this one definitely hooked me.
The dual perspectives of Lizzie and Bex work very well to drip feed the reader information and unfold the story.

I found the social commentary to be mostly well-done, if a little heavy-handed at times. The cynicism of social media vs reality was fun to read and the way Lizzie spoke about motherhood was very relatable for me.

However, it was all a bit overdone. There were so many twists and turns that it started to feel contrived and frustrating.
I also felt like it was a bit of a caricature by the end, and maybe that was the idea, but it wasn't executed massively well.

There were just too many of them - the super evil husbands forcing women to miscarry any baby girls, the sick and twisted doctor swapping one man's sperm for another's, the puppet master lawyer/accountant/brand manager pulling everyone's strings and somehow having FBI contacts that just so help her biggest clients avoid any sort of legal troubles during a murder investigation. The well-timed stormy dinner where someone's sister falls off a cliff (but that's not actually part of the story and she's totally fine anyway.)

The other thing that really put me off was the lack of trigger warnings. There were none at all, but the book desperately needs them. It's not a lot to expect a Big 5 publisher to forewarn readers that there's going to be graphic scenes and really upsetting events.

It was a good yarn, but I probably won't read it again.

Lizzie is a struggling journalist with young children, but her one-time college bestie is now thriving as a tradwife influencer with no less than 6 kids!

Long-estranged, and with Bex having reinvented herself as Rebecca, Lizzie is taken aback when her old friend contacts her offering a very special story that might be just what Lizzie's career needs. But she isn't entirely sure if she can trust "Rebecca", after what Bex has done to her in the past...

The situation gets even more complicated when Bex's husband Grey is found dead, and she herself disappears. Can Lizzie figure out what is really going on here before it is too late?

Jo Piazza has delivered another entertaining thriller with her trademark intrigue. This one is well worth your time!

Is everything you see on social media real or is everyone lying to you?
This is the story of bex, a tradwife influencer, & lizzie, bex old college friend & now a magazine editor. Bex & lizzie were inseparable in college & had hoped that friendship would continue through adulthood, however, something happened & the friendship ended both going their separate ways & leading totally different lives, never thinking they would see each other again only through instagram stalking! However, 10 years later bex (known to her millions of followers as Rebecca) needs lizzies help & reaches out to her with a lucrative magazine deal that will not just benefit both of them but also get lizzie the answers to what happened 10 years previously. Bex & lizzie meet at a influencer convention called mombomb & lizzie can instantly see the old college bex & she realises how much she misses her, however shes still cautious as bex is been secretive about her life, what happened 10 years ago & the deal, lizzie plans to get these answers in the morning but when the morning comes bex is no where to be seen & news has emerged that bex hushand gray has been found murdered in the barn. Is bex in danger or has she killed gray & is on the run?
Lizzies chief editor & bex manager/lawyer want her to cover the story & lizzie feels she also needs to know what happened to bex so she agrees. Lizzie thinks the best way to uncover the truth is to get to know the other influencers at the convention & here she meets veronica. Veronica is also a tradwife influencer & is also married to gray best friend Marsden, can lizzie trust veronica or does veronica have an ulterior motive? These are the questions lizzie needs to asks herself & then things end up even more confusing when letters start turning up at the hotel for lizzie with clues & instructions to help lizzie write more stories about bex & what has been happening in her life & her not so perfect marriage. But will all this lead her to bex & reveal who killed Gray?
This book is told in both bex & lizzie pov & the more you read the more your jaw is hitting the floor, the things that emerge you don't see coming & the twists are twisting! I'd definitely recommend this book even if your not a big thriller reader.

Murderous Suspense..
Murderous suspense centred in and around the world of influencers, followers and social media and, in particular, one trad wife influencer with millions of followers and one struggling writer. A pacy read with an engaging narrative and twists turns aplenty. Who to trust?

I loved this book! I love the way it is told in alternating chapters between journalist Lizzie who was close to trad wife Rebecca at college but then was dropped by her in a cruel way, and Rebecca where we learn about how much her life has changed over the years. The novel opens with Rebecca contacting Lizzie out of the blue and asking her to a Mom's conference and for her to interview her. This novel was fascinating, I really enjoyed the exploration of what it is to be a stay at home mum and all the work that goes into making life look so perfect on social media. I also enjoyed Lizzie's perspective as she gets an insight into this world. We soon find out that nothing has as it seems as Rebecca's husband is murdered and she disappears, along with her children. We follow Lizzie as she tries to figure out what has happened, and Rebecca as we slowly see how her life became the way it is. This book was gripping and very hard to put down. I love that there were reveals that I wasn't expecting and I was left unsure of who could be trusted for a lot of the book. I really enjoyed this one and definitely recommend it!

I enjoyed this book,
I found it very like the trad wife's secret but I loved the trad wife's secret.

I found the writing style easy but because I read the trad wife's secret first I'd get confused what I was reading.

Rebecca seems like she has tbe perfect life, she’s a social media influencer who lives on a farm with her brood of children and beautiful husband. However, like most relationships everything is not what it seems and Rebecca calls Lizzie out of the blue who she hasn’t spoken to for years to help uncover her ‘truth’. But when Rebecca’s husband is brutally murdered and Rebecca goes on the run, Lizzie doesn’t know what to believe.

I loved that this was a ‘behind the curtain’ look at the perfect lives of social media influencers. It also was a successful ‘whodunnit’ as I genuinely had no idea. It was quite slow to get going though so you do have to stick with it at first.

It’s not very often that a book surpasses my expectations, but this one flew past them leaving a dust trail in its wake. I read it in practically two sittings.
Jo Piazza delivers a ‘fictional’ exposé on the world of super-influencers which will have you turning pages faster than you can say doomscrolling.
Lizzie and Bex are estranged college buddies. Bex, now Rebecca, has become a #Tradwife super-influencer whose on-screen life looks idyllic (if you call being a mom to six kids, running a farm and making all your food from scratch the epitome of perfect). When Lizzie (now a reporter) gets a message from ‘Rebecca’ out of the blue with an all-expenses-paid invite to meet up at Momfluencer conference, the promise of a juicy insider story and the chance to find out what really happened to their friendship is too good to pass up, despite the fact that she hasn’t spoken to Bex for years.
After an initial meet-up where Bex promises to explain everything, as well as give Lizzie an exclusive on her new venture that her husband knows nothing about and would absolutely veto, Bex unexpectedly goes missing, along with her six kids. At the same time, her husband’s body is found mutilated at their farm.
The internet gossip and local police have Bex firmly in their sights, and Lizzie finds herself questioning just how well she knows her old friend. If that wasn’t enough, her editor’s piling on the pressure for the inside story and wants Lizzie to spill all the tea.
I loved this fast-paced, contemporary thriller. Jo Piazza is swiftly becoming one of my autobuy authors.
Five shiny ones, with thanks to NetGalley and HQ for the ARC.
Everyone is Lying to You published on 31 July and promises to be one of this year’s must reads.

The blurb for this book made me think of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. I don’t know whether or not that was deliberate but here we have a group of influencers who gather at the MomBomb conference to learn from each other (& be bitchy about each other). This gloriously fun story reveals the truth behind influencing, content creation & the millions that can be made if you have a big enough following & can strike the right deals.

I’m quite naive when it comes to social media so this was enlightening for me. I liked the two main characters, Lizzie & Bex, who had been the best of friends at college but something happened to wreck their friendship - it was well through the book before the reason was revealed. As a journalist struggling with bringing up two children despite support from her loving and competent husband, she couldn’t be more different from influencer Bex who appears to parent, cook, farm & home school with ease. As their friendship is rekindled at the conference, a murder throws a spanner in the works. As we’ve already discovered, with influencers, it’s all smoke & mirrors, so who is responsible & who is actually in control?

I loved this story & read it in one sitting. Thanks to NetGalley for an advanced copy.

Wow! I was not sure what to expect when picking this up but it was so much more than I could have imagined. I loved this book!

Throwing back the curtain on the TradWife phenomenon, and Mom-fluencers. How everything online is curated and polished to an aesthetic, hiding the gritty truth and dangerous secrets that are lurking behind closed doors.

The author does a fantastic job of making these dark topics humourous and keeping us engaged in the story. I loved the characters - even the ones who weren't nice. I am looking forward to reading more from this author as I loved her writing. She led me through the suspense, giving me enough to keep me on edge and I could not put this book down.

It was fast paced which kept the tension high and the momentum at full speed. With the alternating between Lizzie and Rebecca's POV we get an insider view of Rebecca's side while Lizzie is still trying to find the truth.

Special mention to Lizzie's husband because, what a sweetheart. And the way he called her Drew like Nancy Drew was so cute. I'd love to see more of them.

If you like The Simple Favour you'll enjoy this - it gives the same vibes.

Fantastic read!

Thank you to HQ for the advanced copy.

Wow! This book is absolutely brilliant.

Set in the world of conservative online influencers, everyone is lying to you is a gripping thriller that you won’t be able to put down!

Fabulous characters that you will both love and hate. A story of misogyny, image, betrayal, and the lengths people will go to keep up appearances.

This is a captivating story written for the perspective of 3 women. We learn so much about them, and about their husbands. We all know social media presents a polished version of reality but this book shows how far from the truth is from the show.

Such a brilliant read from start to finish.

The novel’s slow-burn unease feels familiar, like scrolling through highlight reels that leave you emptier than before. And beneath the thriller beats lies a chilling truth: the closer you get to someone’s secrets, the less likely they’ll still be yours to hold.

Lizzie and Bex were best friends in college but after finishing Bex vanished leaving Lizzie confused. Fifteen years later Bex is now Rebecca Somers, a tradwife influencer with millions of followers, while Lizzie is a struggling magazine writer. When Rebecca contacts Lizzie with a proposition she jumps at it. Only she is plunged into a world of backstabbing, jealousy and murder.

I have recently read a few influencer thrillers and a tradwife one, having enjoyed them I was keen to read this one as it seemed like a similar theme and something I would enjoy. This ended up being a fun thriller with plenty of drama and some interesting twists and turns. I found I was interested in how it started, however it ended up being a slow burn, while picking up a bit at the end. Even though the pacing was a bit off, it still ended up being an entertaining enough thriller and I would read more by this author. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this copy in return for an honest review.

3 / 5 stars

I wasn’t totally sure what I was walking into with this one, but it pulled me in quickly. The tradwife influencer stuff was wild and uncomfortably believable, and I liked that it didn’t just poke fun at the aesthetic - it actually explored the pressure and danger behind the curation. It was sharp, gossipy in the best way, and full of twists that kept me turning pages.

What surprised me was how emotional it got. Lizzie’s struggles felt real - not just with the case but with motherhood, identity, and everything she had buried. Bex’s story was messier than I expected in a good way. I cared more than I thought I would. Some of the side characters were a bit flat, and the ending tied up more cleanly than I wanted it to, but overall this one stuck with me. It had that uneasy tension of not knowing who to trust and still finding moments that hit close to home.

Thanks to NetGalley and Jo Piazza for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Lizzie & Bex were BFFs in college, but after a falling out they haven't spoken in fifteen years. Now Lizzie is a struggling magazine writer, married with 2 children, & she secretly follows Bex online as Bex is now Rebecca Sommers, tradwife influencer with millions of followers who soak up every detail of her perfect life, children, & handsome husband Gray.

Out of the blue, Bex contacts Lizzie with an intriguing proposition of an exclusive interview with her & an invite to hottest influencer conference around. The two former friends reconnect at the conference but Lizzie gets the feeling that something is not right behind the façade Bex projects. Before she can find out more, Bex disappears & Gray is found murdered.

Good pace, a well-thought out plot, & two appealing main characters made this one of those books you can't put down! The narrative is told from both Lizzie & Bex's points of view & it lifts the lid on the disconnect that these women are selling traditional gender roles whilst raking in millions of dollars & that probably very little of what is seen online is real.

There were a couple of times when Lizzie came out with something so ridiculous that it brought me out of the narrative as I thought "Seriously, you cannot be this stupid", but on the whole, it was a minor quibble. Overall I really enjoyed this fictional look at the darker side of the whole tradwife thing.

My thanks to NetGalley & publishers, HQ, for the opportunity to read an ARC.

‘Everyone Is Lying To You’ by Jo Piazza is a twisty thriller set in the world of momfluencers, which begins with journalist Lizzie reminiscing about her former best friend, who cut Lizzie out of her life when she transformed from slightly chaotic college student Bex to shiny and perfect wife/mother/influencer Rebecca. Rebecca approaches Lizzie with the promise of a career-changing exclusive and an invite to the biggest social media creator event of the year, but things turn dark quickly when bitching and backstabbing gives way to the shocking and gruesome death of Rebecca’s wife Gray.

The thrilling mystery at the centre of the story kept me totally glued to my kindle, and I must admit I had multiple theories that were fun to formulate before being routinely dismissed by the next breathtaking development in the tale. Some elements of the past fifteen years of Bex/Rebecca’s life as she evolved into tradwife-dom were depressingly predictable but other revelations were mind-blowing. The book definitely had a sting in its tail and subverted expectations of characters right up to the final pages!

I also enjoyed the social commentary throughout the book, with Lizzie’s interactions at the influencer convention before things turned upside down being especially entertaining… I certainly hadn’t heard of “henfluencers” before reading this novel, and loved the bitching between the high school-esque cliques of mothers. The way Lizzie kept questioning her self worth, value as a mother and whether she was deserving of a rekindled relationship with Bex was relatable and quite emotional at times.

Overall, this was difficult to put down and gets four stars from me for its bitingly sharp narration and truly unpredictable twists!

I received an advance Digital Review Copy of this book from the publisher HQ via NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are my own.
