My thanks to Beyond the Page Publishing and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance reader copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
When I requested this book I did not realize it was the 9th book in the series. That being said, I quickly came up to speed with the characters and the relationships.
When Grammy Lee's friend Esme is worried about her granddaughter's fiancée trying to talk her into selling her house and moving to a senior community, Grammy lee insists that Cooper and her Bible Study Group get involved and find out what is going on, then when he is found murdered on Esme's property, the action really gets going.
I thought the book was well plotted with more than enough suspects, I never really thought Esme or her granddaughter, Mary were serious suspects, but they did have to be eliminated. I tracked along with the Cooper and her friends from her Bible Study Group through most of their investigation, coming to the realization of who the killer was just before it was revealed. I found the group to be an interesting team of sleuths with their varied backgrounds and skill sets and enjoyed how they supported each other. The romance element was just enough to keep it interesting, but not a distraction. Grammy Lee and her friends are exactly the contrarians every good protagonist needs. I did find it ironic that someone curious enough to investigate a murder would not probe a bit more as to what her father was up to in the greenhouse however. There were times when the biblical references became a bit distracting. Overall, I enjoyed the book enough to look for other books in the series.

This was my first book in this series but I didn’t have any problem jumping into here. I liked the characters, especially Grammy Lee. But even though I knew the sleuths were part of a bible study group I found the amount of biblical passages a bit too much for the length of the story. I did like the ending though.

I have been reading this series since the beginning and this new addition is really good.
Cooper and her Bible study friends are involved in an investigation of possible real estate fraud.
They uncover secrets and are soon to find the answers they are looking for.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for selecting me to read an advanced copy of this book.
