A mafia heir trying to clear his father's name and free him from incarceration kidnaps the daughter of the police chief he believes framed him - and off we go! We have some familiar tropes pulled together - experienced, violent, commitment phobic, and yes totally hot male, with his group of similar males (you will see Dom show up as guest appearance) - inexperienced, naive, all the looks and not much smarts, female with, of course, the experienced, brash, clueless bestie. The plot give substance, while the mafia heir's inner thoughts provide some enjoyable humor, and I laughed out loud a few times - a nice touch balancing out the violence and betrayals, there are some big betrayals.

Rob’s Struggle is the second book in the series. I did not have a chance to read the first book but that did not impact my ability to enjoy this book. I liked Rob and Tessa’s chemistry. I also liked the difficult situation Rob was in and had to navigate. Salvo was my favorite character so I hope he gets a story.
