just okay. as a romance it's fine and a quick read but there's definitely much better and I could use a lot more detail in terms of story. it might just be because i'm more of a plot person, though. 3 stars.

I love a good m/m Hockey romance, especially if one or both characters are bi or have their bi awakening in the story. Ethan goes on his honeymoon with his best friend and team mate Jean-Luc, because his fiancée left him at the altar.

The author did a great job establishing the fact that his ex is not the right person for him. Even though he felt like after all she went through with him, she deserved it
"He had to marry her, didn't he? She'd earned it. Right?"

Once things get serious between the MMCs, a safeword is introduced and double checked in future situations. I really appreciate that being made a part of the story.

One thing I struggled with especially in the beginning was the switching from hockey nicknames to real names. The biggest part of the first chapter, the hockey nicknames were used and then starting the second chapter those were almost gone. I am not sure why that choice was made for that specific point in the book, in my opinion it would've made more sense for a later point.

There is also a lot of miscommunication happening between the MMCs, or rather, lack of communication. Some people like it, some don't, I'm just going to state it here. However, once they talk to someone else about their relationship, the communication with those people is better and they start bringing that back into their own relationship as well.

The thing that I would've like added most in this book is future talk. With them being in the NHL, even playing as partners on the same team, I feel like they should have an on page conversation about if and who they want to tell, what they want to do if someone finds out etc. Especially since Ethan was keeping their eyes out for NHL logos in Hawaii, so this should be important to him.

All in all it's a cute book, but I did enjoy other MM hockey books more. I am interested to read another book by this author though, since this is their debut.

(I read an ARC copy of this book)

This is my first MM hockey romance and it was just okay for me. I thought the storyline was unique and interesting, and I liked both MMC’s. I didn’t really feel the chemistry between the 2 MMC’s though and that kind of pulled me out of the story. The ending also felt very abrupt and not complete…even with the epilogue.

This was such a good book to read. 2 friends who fall in love. Double bi-awakening is always so much fun to read. 2 guys on a honeymoon where everyone sees them as a married couple which they're clearly not. How both their families were already betting on when they would get together was absolutely hilarious. The sort of miscommunication between them about their feelings just made it a bit less for me. Both thought the other would never want to be together outside of the honeymoon bubble. But they were just made for each other. It was also a well written book and I absolutely flew through it.

Interesting premise, good chemistry between the characters, quick read. Those are the good things about this. Unfortunately, there were too many things that didn't make sense and were unrealistic. On the small end, the Nashville NHL team in this book is called the Titans. This took me way out of the story as someone familiar with Nashville. The Titans are Nashville's pro football team. The Nashville NHL team is the Predators. If the author wanted to avoid using the real name of the team, they should have chosen something other than Titans. This detail makes the story feel poorly researched. On a larger end, the texts contained so many emojis and bizarre abbreviation choices. DNF'd at about 60%. Overall, there are better Hockey m/m romances out there. You can skip this one.
