Whilst I did enjoy this book, it wasn't my favourite by this author. I found main character Mia very self absorbed and couldn't really take to her at all. I also found that wherever Mia went the two men she was interested in were.

However, having said that it did get better once Andreas came into the story. The location sounded idyllic and I enjoyed the overall idea of the storyline.

Thanks to netgalley for the chance to read this book.

Tasha is getting married on the Greek island of Santorini. Mia is her maid of honour. Christos is the owner of the venue where Tasha’s wedding is being held. Mia gets herself caught up in a holiday romance with Christos. Can this be the start of something magical?

Mia has recently moved back in with her parents after a recent breakup and becoming redundant from her job. She is a social influencer, at least beginning to be one, and uses the time off and the little money she has traveling and posting pictures of places she has been and things she has done. When she gets an invitation to a wedding of her childhood BFF in Santorini, Greece, she is thrilled to accept. Fortunately for her, she helps out her grandmother and she is very generous to her. She invites a friend, Lulu, that she used to work with to be her plus one. The story shares all she sees and does in Santorini, as well as the wedding and her "dates" with two men she meets. I figured out something about them early in the story, but there is a bit of a surprise just before Mia heads home. There is some chemistry between Mia and the men, but nothing else happens. Mia is also trying to figure out what she really wants to do with her life, be a social influencer, or do something with her singing.

I enjoyed most of this story, but the beginning when Mia is faking a lot and always has her camera out trying to post things on her "socials" I did become a bit annoyed. I'm telling you that because it does get better, so hang in there. This is a lovely armchair travel story, where you get to see lots of things in the area, learn about food and activities, as well as the lovely scenery. When she meets Christo, described as a greek god, I knew he was a cad. He was only out for one thing and luckily Mia was smart enough not to fall for it. When she meets Andreas, they just seem to click. They are more on the same wavelength. I enjoyed how Mia spent time with her friend Tasha's aunts. It was a lovely multi-generational friendship. Getting the chance to sign karaoke rekindles Mia's love of singing and actually confuses her a bit about what she will do with her life. I am not a fan of social influencers, TikTok or really even instagram, so that part of the story was a miss for me, but I enjoyed seeing Mia grow a bit, and really decide what she wanted to do in her life. I also liked how she was a friend to others, loyal and willing to give up something she wanted in order to spend time with them. If you enjoy a good vacation story with a little bit of romance and lots of friendship, food, fun and activities, then I recommend you pick up Not My Greek Wedding.

DNF at 8%. The main character was very unlikable to me, probably because of the simple inner dialogue and the wanna-be-famous mindset. I didn’t like the writing style either. Unfortunately not the summer romance I was looking for.

I’m happy to be here today to promote a new summer read from Bookouture: Sue Roberts’ Not My Greek Wedding. This was an engaging and positive read about a young woman who is getting herself back on track after a big break up and who is headed to Greece for her bestie’s wedding. There’s romance, humor, and more in this memorable novel with realistic characters and a storyline that many will relate to.

Thank you for my copy and having me here on the tour!

Book Description:

She might not be the bride, but could this wedding be the start of her perfect future?

Mia is reeling from a breakup with her fiancé. And now her best friend Tasha is getting married on the beautiful Greek island of Santorini – where Mia once planned on having her own wedding.

Arriving at the resort, Mia’s breath catches at the sight of the sun-soaked terrace and vases overflowing with pink and white blooms. And with guests like local hunk, Christos, walking around like statues of Greek gods come to life, there’s even more to celebrate… so Mia promises to put her own heartache aside and make sure everything is perfect for Tasha – especially as she’s the Maid of Honour!

But with embarrassing speeches, champagne corks popping everywhere, and guests getting caught up in the energetic Greek dancing, there are too many problems to tackle alone. If she opens her heart, can Mia and Christos make sure the day runs smoothly, and could she even start her own new love story in Greece?

This was such a great story. I loved the twist about who people were to each other. I wish we would have seen if she did get a happily ever after although the ending was great. I love that she was a social media influencer and slowly realizing that not everything has to be shared or posted. Great story with some amazing characters.

Having really enjoyed Sue’s previous book, I picked this up expecting another great beach read. While it’s certainly an easy read and the writing flows, I was a bit disappointed overall. The story lacked the depth and emotional pull I was hoping for, and Mia didn’t quite come to life for me. It’s fine if you’re after something light, but it didn’t quite hit the mark for me this time.

My Thoughts :
We meet Mia, thrown in at the deep end after a break up. She now finds herself in Santorini at her best friend Tasha’s wedding.
It should be her standing there in the white dress and at that exact location but when Mia’s fiance broke off their engagement after cheating on her she has no choice but to suck it up and put a brave face as the Maid of Honour.
Enter the gorgeous Christos, who just happens to be everywhere, as the couple get invested in making Tasha’s dream day its hard to ingnore the attraction that is there between them. Just when Tasha was sworn off men for good!.
Tasha soon makes new friendships, has her own new adventures and maybe a new love interest.
But has she been burnt and in no way wants any man in her life!?.
Sue Roberts always delivers us escapism and this story was no different, sit back and relax with a cocktail in hand as we find ourselves lost in the romantic Greek surroundings and beautiful scenery of Santorini.
Looking forward to more stories soon.

Not My Greek Wedding by Sue Roberts was a beautifully written book from start to finish and I loved it especially as I love a good wedding book! This book was a wonderful romantic comedy which was set against the breathtaking backdrop of Greek island of Santorini,
Mia’ is excited, to have some sun on her face, drink cocktails by the pool, swim in the beautiful blue sea but most of all she was looking forward seeing her oldest friend Tasha from high school getting married and live happily ever after.

When Mia arrives at the resort she falls in love with the resort, especially as she notices someone walking round who has caught her eye. She finds out he is a guest and his name is Christos. He is walking around like a Greek god who has come to life. When they see each other there is a spark between them, Mia can’ not get involved with him! she has to remember this is only a holiday! Until she finds out his family owns the venue.

Oh Mia!!!!

Will she open her heart to Christos?

She has to make sure Tasha's day is the best day of her life. . . Nothing can go wrong!

But, there is a record-breaking heatwave on the way on the Island. The ceremony space is unsheltered from the midday heat, But, Mia and Christos must come up with a quick fix. Or Tasha might not be able to walk down the aisle in the dress of her dreams.

Now, could she even start her own new love story in Greece?

Not My Greek Wedding. . . . was a Breath f Fresh air, a beautiful read from start to finish.

Big Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for my ARC.

Sue Roberts delivers another warm, escapist tale in Not My Greek Wedding, a delightful romantic comedy set against the breathtaking backdrop of Santorini. With its charming blend of friendship, heartache, and the promise of new beginnings, this story is perfect for readers who love their beach reads with equal parts humour and heart.

Mia’s journey begins at a low point—nursing a broken heart and heading to Greece for her best friend Tasha’s wedding, which just happens to be in the very location Mia once dreamed of having her own nuptials. But instead of wallowing in regret, Mia steps into her role as Maid of Honour with grace and determination, intent on creating a magical celebration for her friend.

Roberts captures the setting beautifully—from the whitewashed villas and azure waters to the bougainvillea-draped terraces and clinking glasses of ouzo. The Greek atmosphere is vibrant and immersive, almost like another character in the book. And then there’s Christos, the local heartthrob with a kind heart and a quiet strength, who might just help Mia see love through a new lens.

What really makes this book stand out is its focus on personal growth and letting go of the past. Mia’s transformation is believable and refreshing. She doesn’t jump headlong into a new romance to escape her pain; instead, she finds joy in the present, in friendship, and in rediscovering who she is. The chemistry between Mia and Christos is gentle and organic, adding just the right touch of romance without overpowering the story’s emotional depth.

Humorous mishaps—champagne accidents, awkward speeches, and enthusiastic Greek dancing—add levity, making the book feel like a perfect romcom movie in novel form. If you’ve ever had your heart broken and wondered if joy could find you again, Not My Greek Wedding will remind you that sometimes, the best love stories begin when you least expect them.

Charming, sun-soaked, and full of heart, Not My Greek Wedding is a celebration of friendship, healing, and the magic of unexpected love.

My first book by Sue Roberts and what a lovely and charming feel good story this was. Well deserving 4 stars.

Mia is looking forward to the wedding of her oldest friend from high school, Tasha, the wedding is due to take place in sunny Greece and Mia is to be the maid of honour. After the breakdown of her relationship and being made redundant, a nice break in beautiful Santorini is just what she needs, it will also provide great content for her burgeoning social media account that she is running. Singing is her real talent, but she hasn’t the confidence to pursue it and so settles for her social media influencing in the hope it will eventually become something she can earn money from. The wedding is beautiful, and Mia has fun especially after inviting her friend Lulu as her plus one and also bumping into Tasha’s aunty, Irene, who she knew when she was a child. With Irene’s cousin, Patsy, the group make a great foursome. Mia and Lulu plan to stay on after the wedding for a little bit, to enjoy a break and explore the local towns, and do so, enjoying the company of Irene and Patsy. Mia attracts the attentions of two locals, Christos, who owns a nightclub and also, Andreas, who runs a small gift shop, both men are completely different: like comparing day to night. Mia isn’t against a holiday romance and decides to leave things to fate although feels slightly strange having two men liking her at the same time. As Mia falls in love with Greece will she start to feel any sparks with either of her of her admirers?! Will she be heading back home tanned and happy with a thriving social media account but still very much single and needing to find herself a job after her redundancy or will Greece work some magic on Mia?!

This was a perfect summer read, and I really enjoyed the beautiful descriptions of Greece, so much so, that at times I felt like I was actually there. I liked Mia from page one, and I also liked the influencer angle, especially given it’s so on trend at the moment. Although there were a few times I wanted to shout at Mia when she questioned her instincts (but that’s probably because I am almost 20 years older than her and have more life experience with certain situations)- sorry this is a little cryptic, but this is a spoiler free review! I loved Lulu, Irene and Patsy, and thought the three women really did enhance Mia’s holiday which was lovely, but I liked how Mia also helped them all out too when they needed it, it was just such an amazing group of mutual support. I thought the ending was just perfect and exactly what I could have wished for Mia.

Overall, a lovely easy enjoyable read and I would definitely recommend this one for anyone who enjoys the romance genre. After reading this I can guarantee you will fall in love with Greece.

Thank you to NetGalley, Sue Roberts and Bookouture for my advanced reading copy. Out now.

It took me a little while to relax into this. The 'influencer' aspect of the story I found a little annoying for a while and watching Mia constantly having to photograph and upload in her quest for more followers was not something that I found endearing. But, I soon got to see that the author was using that as a way to show how Mia needed to find herself whilst she was away on her Greek getaway and that the possibility of romance was a bonus rather than a focus. Not My Greek Wedding by Sue Roberts is romantic and light, a perfect poolside read and had some very likeable characters. The sunshine and island do steal the show somewhat and most definitely made me yearn to return again (it's been a long time).

This book unfortunately didn't land for me. Mia, the main character, came across extremely self absorbed and didn’t seem to have much character depth beyond her drive to become a social media star. Although the writing was vivid and descriptive, the plot itself felt thin and hard to stay invested in. Still, if you're after a light, effortless read to enjoy on a summer vacation, this might be just what you are looking for.

*Thank you to Sue Roberts and @bookouture for the ARC copy. I am freely leaving my honest review.

Not My Greek Wedding is the latest slice of sun-drenched romantic escapism from best-selling author Sue Roberts.

Mia was meant to be in Santorini for the wedding of her dreams with the love of her life – unfortunately her fiancé had cheated on her, the wedding was called off and now she’s the maid of honour for her best friend Tasha’s nuptials in the venue of her dreams. Mia isn’t about to let her own romantic disappointments distract her from being there for her friend, however, she cannot help wishing that she was the one about to marry her Prince Charming. Only, little does Mia realise that Santorini might just end up leading her to her very own knight in shining armour: gorgeous Greek Christos…

Looking like he’s just stepped off the cover of a romance novel, Christos ignites feelings deep within Mia she never thought she would ever experience ever again. As the two of them find themselves getting closer and closer, will Mia and Christos find the happy ending they had long given up on under the sizzling Greek sun? Or will her love story in Greece end up having an unhappy ending for Mia?

Sue Roberts never fails to write fantastic romantic escapes that are the best thing to an exotic holiday and she’s done it again with Not My Greek Wedding. Fun, feel-good and fabulous, Not My Greek Wedding is a hilarious and heartfelt romantic comedy that will leave readers with a huge smile on their face and eager for the next uplifting page-turner from the immensely talented pen of Sue Roberts.

There are a lot of things to like about this book, for me the descriptions of stunning Santorini really evoke the island bringing back many memories. In the beginning I loved the descriptions of the tavernas and the delicious food but to be honest, after a while I was hoping for something more.

I think the problem is that as a reader I didn't really warm to either of the protagonists. That, together with a very light plot, meant that it just lacked a bit of conflict. Fortunately, things improved towards the end and I enjoyed the book, mainly because of the setting and the writing. With this book, it is not so much of working out what will happen but engrossing yourself in how it happens.

Perfect if you're looking for a beach or summer read set on a sun-drenched Greek island.
