Not My Greek Wedding is a feel-good, fun, romcom about a woman named Mia who is on holiday in Santorini at her best friends wedding. Mia has no current employment but does have a mid-size social media presence and is trying to make a career out of it. When she fly’s to her best friends wedding, she sees old friends, makes new friends and possibly some love interests. I really liked Mia’s character - she was unsure of where is was going in life and that can be scary when you are in your late 20’s. I really want to know more about what happens next - I hope it’s a series!
I really enjoyed this book. It was sweet - and it’s hard to say that about a book with out it being boring, and this was not boring. Sue Roberts is great at describing the landscape and feeling of Greece - I want to now take many holidays there! And I also want to read more Sue Roberts!

Synopsis:
Mia is a 28 year-old aspiring social media influencer who has just been made redundant and is living at home. Her childhood BFF, Tasha, is having a destination wedding in Santorini and Mia could really use this sunny getaway. While participating in all the wedding festivities, Mia meets two very different Greek men, Christos and Andreas. Could one of them be something more than just a holiday romance? And could Mia find more than just love in Santorini?
Opinion:
I thought this was a very cute and quick romance read. I liked Mia as a main character, as well the 'sweet aunties' who made for fun sidekicks on her journey. To be honest, I was looking for a bit more depth of story and some parts of it felt very repetitive in description and writing phrases. I always love a Mediterranean setting though, so all in all I enjoyed this book.

This is a breezy, sun-drenched romantic comedy that delivers exactly what it promises: escapism with sparkle. Set against the postcard-perfect backdrop of Santorini, it is a light-hearted tale brimming with charm, cocktails, and second chances.
The story follows Mia, a jilted influencer still smarting from a broken engagement, as she heads to Greece to be Maid of Honour at her best friend’s wedding. The twist? It’s being held in the very place Mia once dreamed of tying the knot herself. What unfolds is a delightful mix of wedding chaos, self-discovery, and sizzling chemistry—especially with the ever-dreamy local, Christos.
There’s an intoxicating blend of humour and heart, especially in Mia’s growing relationship with her endearing grandmother, whose grounded wisdom offers a nice counterbalance to Mia’s social media–obsessed worldview. It’s about fun, healing, and finding unexpected joy. And in that respect, it shines.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC!
This book was not good. Mia, the main character, is just awful. She’s an TikTok influencer wannabe and her inner dialogue is just awful. The writing is very amateur and I was bored throughout the book. I was looking forward to reading it but it’s just not good.

Book review of Not My Greek Wedding by Sue Roberts.
First of all, I haven’t ever given a negative book review... until now. I wish I could give a better rating for this book but unfortunately, I can’t. Here’s why:
First thoughts: I thought the book cover was quite cute. It has nice artwork. Unfortunately, that’s the only positive thing I can say about the book.
Blurb: It is quite misleading. The blurb says ‘’Mia is reeling from a breakup with her fiancé.’’ He was her boyfriend, never her fiancé. Then, the blurb makes out that a romance blooms with Christos but is actually more about another guy. The story did not really go according to what the blurb makes out. Disappointing.
Final impressions: The main character Mia is incredibly vain and shallow. She seems to feel the need to keep reminding you in nearly every chapter that she is a ‘’social media influencer’’. I’m sorry but I’m not interested in that type of character in real life, let alone in a main character of a book. Nothing much seems to happen throughout the book either. I was that bored with it that I even had to skip through quite a lot of chapters. Bored, bored, bored. I understand that in books, you sometimes have to use some repetition, but not that much. It was way too repetitive. There were also a lot of typos and grammatical errors. For a book that is soon to be published, you’d think it would be all correct having been checked by proofreaders and editors. I found this incredibly irritating. Do I recommend this book to others? I think you can already tell where I’m going with this, and you’re right. No, I do not recommend reading this book, unless you want to feel irritable.

A sweet book about friendship and believing in yourself. 3.5* enjoyable, good setting and fun characters but could do with a little more descriptive writing and depth/development.

At first glance, this book seemed like a fun beach read. That is until I actually started reading. There were a lot of instances where the book was repetitive, full of filler scenes and unsupportive to the plot. The things that stuck out to me were Mia’s fixation in letting the readers know how she was an influencer in every chapter and the sheer number of visits to the local bars and restaurants. I’m talking breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between. That’s basically all that happened throughout the book.
Moreover, the thing that bugged me the most was how inaccurate the description was. Mia is not reeling from her breakup (which happened a year prior) with her boyfriend, not even fiancé, and, until she landed in Santorini, wasn’t even thinking about potentially having her wedding there. Also, her friend’s wedding is just a starting point, not the whole plot, and nothing happened during that needed Mia and Christos’ help to solve. Since Christos came up, the supposed “MMC” was so infuriating and unlikeable in my opinion, I started to wonder if another man would come along.
I also found Mia, in the beginning, quite shallow and I could see how she was living in her own little world, but luckily that changed in the end.
The only things that saved this book were a certain Greek man and the descriptions of the foods and places in Santorini.
All in all, if you are on holiday and want an easy read, this could be an option.
Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Review: Not My Greek Wedding by Sue Roberts
If you’re craving a sun-soaked escape with cocktails, chaos, and a touch of Greek magic, Not My Greek Wedding is your boarding pass.
Mia, fresh off a broken engagement, lands in Santorini to be Maid of Honour at her best friend’s destination wedding—ironically on the island she once dreamed of marrying on herself. From the very first page, the novel bursts with vibrant energy: whitewashed villas, cascading florals, sandy toes, and plenty of prosecco. You can almost hear the clinking of glasses and smell the salty breeze.
The plot glides effortlessly from heartfelt to hilarious, especially as Mia stumbles through wedding disasters, tangled feelings, and a not-so-subtle flirtation with local Adonis, Christos. While she starts off a little too obsessed with her influencer life—follower counts, freebies, and #ad content overload—Mia eventually begins to reflect, grow, and open herself to something real. Her bond with her quirky, wise grandmother adds genuine warmth and heart to the story, grounding her in something more lasting than likes.
Yes, there are moments where the dialogue feels light and the character arc could go deeper. But honestly? That’s part of the charm. This isn’t a heavy, life-changing read—it’s a glossy, flirty postcard from paradise. Perfect for lounging poolside, cocktail in hand, dreaming of your own summer reboot.
A little messy, a little magical—Not My Greek Wedding is like a fizzy spritz on a hot day: refreshing, pretty, and hard to resist.
Rating: 4/5

I received an ARC of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. I have enjoyed most of Sue Roberts's books, but this one was not one of them. Mia, the main character, was vain, shallow, and unlikeable. All the talk about her freebies, being an influencer, and how she saw herself was a bit much.

A nice story. A perfect beach read. Just struggled with the main character. She was an influencer. Set a beautiful Greek island. . Wonderful descriptions of sunsets and food. A nice love element . Some great characters . A neat ending .

Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book by Sue Roberts. Set in the gorgeous place of Santorini, it felt as you was there too with the characters.
Mia is an influencer and loves what she does. She’s invited to the wedding of her best friend in Santorini.
When she gets there, she meets people she knows as well as making new friends.
She also finds interesting things to post so that those that love what she’s posted previously will see that she’s able to show different aspects of what she does.
When she meets a gorgeous hunk will her thoughts change to doing something else other than being an influencer?
I loved the setting and the characters.
I highly recommend this book.

Really enjoyable summer beach read! I will admit I struggled at first, felt it took some getting into and found the character a little hard to relate to. Once it gets going, you start to see the character's charm and I love her relationship with her grandma! Good to see the character starting to explore her talents and finding herself again. I enjoyed the story once I got into it and very much the type of book you can enjoy with a pina colada on a beach somewhere (or it makes you wish that's where you are)
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read this book.

Not My Greek Wedding by Sue Roberts is the perfect way to kick off your summer reading list. Be whisked away to sunny Santorini with this delightful romcom, the perfect addition to your beach bag.
Mia is an aspiring influencer and has the opportunity to attend a friend's wedding in gorgeous Santorini. Meeting acquaintances old and new, Mia is thrilled with the possibilities to add new content for her loyal followers. But will the attentions of a handsome local begin to outweigh the draw of the influencer life?
This is a sun-drenched, breezy read that charmed me from beginning to end. If you have previously enjoyed the writing of Sue Roberts, her latest will surely not disappoint.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for an ARC.

I enjoyed how descriptive this book was with the summer feel and the gorgeous setting it took place in. However, I found Mia, the main character, was shallow and too focused on her social media image and money. The repetitive topic of how much free stuff she is sent from her videos or how many followers she had was very off-putting making me unable to relate to her. I had high hopes for this book as a cute summer read however, I found it hard to overcome the immaturity and selfishness of Mia.

Lovely story. Just I found it tended to repeat words and phrases quite a bit within the same paragraphs. Whilst this isn’t terrible, as I’m writing my own book my Aunt helped me edit some of it before she passed away, and she would always say it was a writing faux pas to not use synonyms wherever possible so as to not seem to be repetitive. For instance, instead of repeating the phrase “friends and family” so shortly after it was previously said the term “loved ones” could be used instead. I would have liked a bit more descriptive imagery about the Greek landscape and the food. But otherwise quite cozy lovely and found the characters to be rather affable. Her Gran reminded me a lot of my own, who is sorely missed. All in all quite a sweet tale.

The main character was just so difficult to relate to or like. Just so very immature and the dialogue and inner dialogue was hard to enjoy. Despite the beautiful setting this one wasn't for me.
