Great twisty thriller, which has you guessing who is telling the truth, wondering what is real. I loved the characters and setting, and found it a real page turner. Wonderful imagination and excellent plot.

i love a book who has you wondering what is going on or who to believe. who can you trust- the plot? the author? the narrator? any of the characters? or are you being under some gas-lighting technique of one of the characters, are you falling for it too? or is there more to this yet to come. and yes yes and yes this book was all those wonderful conundrums and more.
weve got a very wealthy woman who is getting married to her school sweetheart after finding each other again in later life. on their wedding night he is supposed to have made a huge confession. but did he because its soon whispered that the person in question who he confessed to isnt of sound mind. she has dementia?
and the main characters werent the only ones providing questions here. thee is so much to delve into in this book and with such a brilliant plot alongside it you truly are left in a mind spin. it was tension building and intriguing all the way through.
who was i rooting for? at some points i wasnt even sure myself! but as i gained more pieces of the puzzle i stopped trying to figure it out and just waited to be told because Bonnie new exactly what she was doing and i just wanted to wait and see. this was a master at work.
this is one of the smartest books ive read in a while. a definite recommend from me all the way to the end.

What can you do when your septuagenarian mother, who has always been powerful and very much at the top of her game, falls for a man whom you think may be a criminal?
This is the dilemma facing Julie. Her mother Kate is not only hugely wealthy, she is also a powerful woman used to doing things her own way. But when she unexpectedly marries Charlie, a man who was apparently her high school sweetheart, things get complicated.
Because even as Kate insists that Charlie has confessed to a crime, no one else seems to believe her, and Julie just doesn't know what to make of it all...
A gripping psychological thriller, this one is well worth reading. It gets 3.5 stars.
