A Devilish Delight! Sharp writing and humor highlight this dark thriller with Killing Eve vibes. I really enjoyed this book. A bloody good time!

This was such a good book. I loved the story and the writing so much. The characters were great and the story flowed smoothly. Will definitely read more books by this author in the future.

"My Wife, The Serial Killer" by H.J. Garbett is an absolute gem — I was hooked from the very first page. I actually laughed out loud early on and knew instantly this was going to be a wild, brilliant ride.
Fran, the main character, is deliciously diabolical and darkly hilarious. Her sarcasm and twisted humour make her unforgettable, and Garbett does an exceptional job of building her character with sharp wit and flair.
If you loved Listen for the Lie by Amy Tintera, this should be next on your list. I genuinely don’t think I’ll ever stop recommending it!

This was delightfully unhinged.
Do you know the saying if you have to tell yourself you’re not a psychopath you’re almost definitely a psychopath? No? Well I think Fran needed to be told this at some point in her life, or maybe it’s her wayward parent’s fault for calling a modern baby Fran, we’ll never know.
I loved Fran’s internal monologue. Her dry sarcastic wit was phenomenal. I was definitely rooting for her to get her justice the entire time because there’s something so likeable about a boss ass bitch doing social work AND taking out pensioners in her spare time.
Gareth. What a loveable goofball. His slow descent into reality had me laughing out loud at multiple points. He was just so blissfully unaware of how the real world operated unless he had evidence and paperwork to pull apart. The way that Mep was his lifeline at the end was almost too much to handle.
Beryl’s POV at the end has me absolutely convinced I would read an entire mystery written by the nosy neighbour next door.
Thank you to Storm publishing and NetGalley for the ARC of this book. This is my honest opinion.

I just finished a fun read. My Wife, The Serial Killer by HJ Garbett was just what I needed to reset my brain. It was a great palate cleanser.

Going by other reviews, the humour in this book mostly bypassed me.
Yes there were moments, but not that many.
It was an easy read though, and gave me a few hours entertainment.
If I came across the characters again, I'd read to see how they're doing.

Ok I absolutely loved this book! The name of it and cover first pulled me in, and I’m so glad it did!
This kept me entertained, engaged, and I binged it in under a day. I didn’t want to put this down. Thank you for the opportunity!

Stayed up late to Read this in a night, I really enjoyed this book. I would read more books by this author

Somehow, this was the perfect light-hearted, funny, charming book I needed! With a hint of murder, of course.
After reading the book description on Netgalley, I knew I needed to request this book - and I wasn't at all disappointed!!
This book held heavy themes (murder and all), but H.J. Garbett brought the humour, mystery and charm to this book from the very first page that had me laughing out loud. It really had a bit of everything in a way that meshed so well together.
I will definitely be recommending this book in future and look forward to reading more from this author.
Thanks again to Storm Publishing for this advanced reader copy.

This was a fun, fast-paced read with a darkly funny twist on a thriller. The idea of a husband suspecting his wife might be a serial killer is wild, and it kept me hooked from the start.
The humor was sharp, the writing was witty, and the story had just enough suspense to keep things moving. Some parts dragged a bit but overall it was really entertaining.
If you like thrillers with humor and a unique voice, this one’s worth picking up.

My first HJ Garbett book but definitely not my last. This was a bit dark and dirty but also had me chuckling out loud. Well written with fantastic characters. Impossible to put down.
Thank you NetGalley, HJ Garbett and Storm Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this gem of a book.

Fran has turned killer, Fran is also married to a Detective.
A deliciously dark comedy even the cat had me laughing out loud.
Brilliantly well written this is one not to be missed.
My thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my copy.
Easy five stars from me.

Love!!!!! There's no better read than one with humor and mystery. Add in a touch of murder and this is a great read that will not be put down until the end!

"Serial Mom" meets "Dexter" in this amusing dark comedy where you will be alternating between chuckling and shaking your head. Either way, you will be rooting for her and wanna slap the prosecutor and some of the law enforcement too - the line between black and white is definitely grey, or in some cases red! An entertaining read for sure

I read the first few pages and felt myself relax and settle in because I knew this one was going to be a winner. The female serial killer trope isn't new, so what made this one fresh? The fact that our killer is married to a detective. Will his love for his partner blind him to his wife's extracurricular activities?
In the opening chapter, Fran Donoghue has just killed her elderly neighbor. I know what you're thinking; "But he's a sweet old man! What could he possibly have done?" Trust me. He deserved everything that was coming to him. Fran's inner monologue after the event was hilarious, and I loved her dark humor throughout. As more of her backstory comes to light, I had a deeper appreciation for the layers of her character that really brought her to life.
Detective Gareth Donoghue finds out that his neighbor is missing and that his wife was the last one to see him. But all Fran did was help him put away some groceries. She even wheeled his trash bins to the curb. The contents of the bins are irrelevant.
It took me a little while to warm to Gareth's character, and while he's not as three-dimensional as Fran, together, they made a great duo. As promised in the synopsis, the ending was a complete surprise. I thoroughly enjoyed this fun thriller and give thanks to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the early copy. This title is expected to publish June 17, 2025.

The minute I picked up this book, I knew I wouldn’t be able to put it down. This was a dark and hilarious book. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.
Fran really stressed me out!! I wasn’t sure about her husband at first, Gareth but I liked him as time went on. The ending of the book was shocking!!
I really enjoyed this book. It was written well. It was also fast paced which I loved. H. J. Garbett please write more books!!

I love books about female serial killers so when I saw this one, I knew I was going to have to read it. I really enjoyed this one and I had no idea if or how Fran was going to get away with killing her neighbor but I enjoyed the journey. I wasn't quite sure what to make of Gareth at first and he seemed like a bit of an invertebrate but as the book went on, I found myself getting to like him more. Fran was smart, strong, snarky and a little unpredictable and I really liked her character as a whole.
This story was a quick, fast paced, engaging read and I'm glad I gave it a shot! Also, I adore the cover!
Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for access to the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thanks to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for this Advanced Reader’s Copy of My Wife, the Serial Killer by H.J. Garbett due to be published June 17, 2025.
Fran Donoghue has just killed her neighbor. Don’t worry, you’ll agree, he deserved it. Detective Gareth Donoghue has a terrible feeling about his missing neighbor By the time this is over, that will be the least of his worries… Is his wife a serial killer?
This book definitely held my interest. I couldn’t wait to see how the whole scenario played out since the title pretty much gave away the plot. It was an interesting premise and a unique idea for a thriller – I liked it and look forward to more from this new-to-me author!
