Having recently fallen headfirst into the small-town cowboy romance rabbit hole, I’ve discovered I’m very picky with them. So, I’ll admit, I went into this one a little apprehensive - but I ended up loving it!!
Lottie was such a brilliant FMC to follow. At the start she’s messy, hurting, and unsure of herself and I really felt for her as everything seemed to fall apart. Watching her slowly figure out what she wanted and how to go after it was so satisfying. Cole, on the other hand, is the perfect grumpy-but-sweet cowboy, protective, a little broody, but with such a soft streak. Their slow burn had me practically begging for that spark to ignite (and when it did, it was worth the wait).
One of the real joys of this story, though, was the cast of side characters. Hestia is an absolute gem of a best friend - so much so I really hope she gets her own book. There’s a strong found family vibe that runs through the whole novel, and the warmth and humour between the characters gave me all the cosy, wholesome feels.
If I have one small quibble, it’s that some of the conflicts resolved a little too quickly - I’d happily have spent more time with these characters and watching those moments develop. But honestly, that just shows how invested I was, because I didn’t want the story to end.
Sweet, warm and just the right kind of swoony, this one hit all the notes I want in a cowboy romance. I devoured it in a couple of sittings (annoyed when real life interrupted!) and can’t wait to return to the ranch in future books.

Unfortunately for me, this was a DNF around the 25% mark which sucks because the cover is a real eye catcher.
I felt like the jump between UK to US was sudden and found in the parts I did read, a lot of terminology was US based despite the main character being in the UK at that point. It was hard to overlook and immediately I found myself less interested to pick the book back up and carry on.
While I read a lot of unrealistic romance fiction, the plot line did feel a tad far fetched (literally changing tracks on a train and getting on a plane seconds later) and I didn't feel a connection through the pages between Lottie and her family ranch in Wyoming...which from context given, sounded like she didn't spend much time there. just loved the idea of the place?

I’ve been a big fan of country for years, so I can’t believe this was my first cowboy romance — and now I need more.
Told from Lottie’s POV, the story follows her as she rebuilds her life after discovering her boyfriend’s betrayal and losing her job. Leaving London behind, she heads to Diamond Back Ranch — a place full of childhood memories, now run by her cousin Lil.
The ranch provides the perfect backdrop, full of small-town charm and vivid descriptions. The supporting characters add so much personality, I loved how naturally their humour and closeness came through.
And the cowboys… oh the cowboys.
Cole, the broody ex-rodeo star, was instantly likeable. Rugged, soft-hearted, and naturally funny. His chemistry with Lottie was chef’s kiss. Jesse complimented Cole’s character perfectly, with his easy-going and flirtatious nature.
Lottie herself is such a fun FMC.. she’s smart, funny, and incredibly relatable as she navigates heartbreak, looking for a fresh start to find herself. Her relationships with Lil and best friend Hestia were full of heart. I especially loved Hestia’s blunt humour, she had me grinning more than once.
The plot was a little predictable, but in the best way. It was cosy, comforting, and heartwarming, exactly what I needed. The spice was just right, with a mix of detailed scenes and fade-to-black moments that complemented the story without overpowering it.
The ending definitely hinted at a sequel… and I’m crossing all my fingers that it’s coming soon.
Overall, this was a heartfelt read.. full of banter, broody cowboys, and ranch-life charm. A swoony romance that left me smiling.

What a brilliant cowboy romance. I absolutely adored this and ate it right up as soon as I delved into this. I was lucky enough to be approved for an advanced copy via @netgalley and I was so excited to start it. It didn’t disappoint in the slightest. Loved Lottie and was absolutely rooting for her and Cole😍. Go get yourself a copy of this amazing small-town cowboy romance♥️.

Untamed Heart had a great start. Lottie had a crappy start but the opening felt fresh and different from many other romances. The story was well paced at the start and I was excited to see where the Lottie and Cole's romance would go.
As it unfolded, the story started to follow a more predictable path, and I wanted a few unexpected twists or deeper layers to the characters. While the writing style is easy to follow and perfect for a cosy, low-effort reading mood, I didn’t feel as connected to the characters as I wanted to be. Cole, in particular, didn’t quite live up to “book boyfriend” status — his moments felt a little flat and I didn't care for him at times.
If you’re after something light and comforting, with a romance that you can see coming but still enjoy then this hits the mark.

All my reviews are put onto goodreads.
Thank you to Gemma Morr and Netgalley for the ARC.
3.5 ⭐️ Everything you’d want from a cowboy romance. Country girl lives in the city now but returns to her roots when life gets upturned. Meets hot as hell cowboy. End screen.

Thank you for the ARC opportunity @gemmamorr and @netgalley - this is the perfect summer vibes book.
UK readers are you trying to work out how to fall in love with a cowboy? Here is the blue print to achieve it. Oh and it’s super cute with proper summer vibes. It would be an amazing beach read.
There are some great characters throughout the story. You have to love Lottie as the FMC. At the start she is messy, you really feel for her as things fall apart and it’s so nice to see her work out what she wants and how she is going to get it. Cole is a good MMC a bit grumpy, a bit sweet and a cowboy. The slow burn between Lottie and Cole is painful at times - I was begging for the spark to hit 😂.
I adored the side characters in this story. Heston is the best BFF ever that everyone needs (she looks like she is going to be an amazing FMC in a future book). There is a great sense of found family in this one and all the characters work so well together to give you all the warm and sunny vibes.

Untamed Heart is the first novel by Gemma Morr. It follows Lottie, a Londoner who returns to her family’s ranch in Jackson Hole, and Cole, one of the ranchers.
I liked both characters as individuals and as a couple. Lottie in particular grew a lot over the course of the story. Cole was a solid MMC - respectful, hot and hard working. They definitely had chemistry.
However I found that the writing style, particularly the dialogue, wasn’t for me and I really struggled to get stuck into the book. I’m not sure I personally will continue the series but it wouldn’t stop me from recommending the book either.
Thank you to the author, publisher Pan Macmillion and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this in exchange for an honest review.

This was a fun, quick easy cowboy romance read but nothing life changing. It didn’t feel like anything I haven’t read before but that doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy it and I would recommend it as a quick palate cleanser between more heavy hitting books.

Untamed Heart is a small town cowboy romance set against the backdrop of Wyoming’s Diamond Back Ranch. It has all the makings of a comfort read with found family, banter filled grumpy and sunshine dynamic, fish out of water charm and a touch of rival ranch drama. Lottie, a London lawyer whose life implodes, flees to her family’s ranch and meets Cole, a rugged ex rodeo star. Sparks fly, but so does the pacing.
While it is warm, easy to read and perfect for a lazy summer afternoon, nothing here feels particularly groundbreaking. The will they wont they romance leans heavily into insta love, developing so quickly it skips the satisfying slow burn tension. The rival ranch subplot is wrapped up with almost no stakes and characters from that storyline feel one dimensional. Lottie’s complicated relationship with her father had the potential to add emotional depth but it is barely explored, leaving a big gap in the story’s heart.
If the book had been about a hundred pages longer, giving more room to develop the romance, side plots and character backstories, it could have been an outstanding western romance. As it stands, it is an easy, fun read with a lot of charm, just delivered at lightning speed.
Perfect if you are in the mood for cowboy chaos without too much drama but not the one to pick up if you are craving layered storytelling or drawn out romantic tension.

Absolutely loved this book!
Beautiful cover 😍
Looking forward to reading more by this author.
Thanks Netgalley for letting me read this book for an honest review.

After losing her job and catching her boyfriend cheating, Lottie is in need of a break. So, she packs her bags and takes a trip to her family’s Wyoming ranch. Ranch manager and ex-rodeo star Cole isn’t looking for a city girl playing cowgirl. But as he gets to know Lottie, he begins to realise that perhaps she is a bit more country than she seems. And as Lottie settles in and helps face down a rival ranch, she begins to ask if she’s finally found the place she fits.
I love Love LOVED this. I devoured it in a couple of hours and got very annoyed when real life got in the way of it being a one-sitting read.
Lottie was such a relatable character: who hasn’t questioned their career and love life in their twenties? Admittedly we might not all jump on a plane to Wyoming, but it felt realistic. I loved the character growth Lottie went through – seeing her learn to stand up for herself and really go for what she wanted was a joy to experience. The whole story is told through Lottie’s point of view, which really allowed me to get into her head and understand her thoughts, motivations and actions. Being in her world was a truly enjoyable place to be – I was angry on her behalf early in the story, excited as she made plans and overjoyed to see her finding herself.
I also loved Cole. And can I just say how much I enjoyed having two genuine main characters. Cole was everything I wanted him to be and I love how he went to bat for Lottie right from the start, before he even got to know her. He was tough protector, vulnerable love interest and all-round nice guy. I really couldn’t have asked for more.
The whole cast of characters were fun to spend time with and I can’t wait to get their stories in future books (I hope!). They gelled so well together and the found family element was so well done. Each character really added something to the story and I truly felt like I was part of it with how well their characters were shown.
As a horse owner myself, I also loved the depiction of the bond between Lottie and Jasper. Despite time and distance, this bond felt true and, to me, an accurate portrayal of the connection you can build with a horse even when you don’t see them every day.
If I did have a criticism, it would be that some aspects of the plot seemed to resolve quite quickly, but this was minor and not the primary thing that kept me engaged in the story. That’s not to say I wouldn’t have enjoyed more time with our characters though!
The community and work element of the ranch really reminded me of the horse books I read as a child but in an adult format – it’s always a joy when I find a book that gives me the same feelings as those books I read again and again, and I honestly can’t wait to spend more time at the Diamond Back Ranch.
Thank you to Pan Macmillan and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this ahead of publication.

This book was cute! I love cowboy romance and I really enjoyed Gemma's writing style and this story. These characters felt so real and relatable, cannot wait for book 2!

Thank you Pan Macmillan and NetGalley for the arc
It was a cowboy summer romance it was cute the characters was ok and it was a cozy read a slow burn romance but it felt flat at times not much of a plot kinda knew where it was going it was a bit slow paced for me but Overall it was a good palette cleanse between all the heavy reading fantasy books I read
3.5 stars

Lottie returns back to the family ranch after she catches her boyfriend, Alex, cheating on her. When she returns back she runs into Cole, who works on the ranch.
I loved the small town charm, the British main character, the tension, and the setting in this book. Set on a massive ranch with rivers/lakes and horses, what more could you want?
Personally I did feel as though it went a bit quick, but that is a personal preference as I enjoy a slow burn romance more!
Overall a very enjoyable read! Would recommend if you’re looking for a small town cowboy romance!

Untamed Heart💕
This was such a sweet cowboy romance following the life of Lottie. When city life in London turns sour after losing her job and getting cheated on in space of a few days, Lottie escapes to her family's ranch in Wyoming.
I really loved Lottie and Lils relationship. The instant reconnection they had after years of not seeing eachother was strong and really sweet acting more like sisters than cousins.
I enjoyed Cole and Lottie together they did have instant chemistry, opening up to eachother and revealing things about themselves no one else knew. I felt they definitely had more of an instant love I do wish it had maybe been a bit slower, but with Lottie's past boyfriend I think she deserves it.
I do wish the story had been longer to allow characters, conflict and resolutions to develop more. With the story being fully on Lotties pov it would of been nice to see the emotional connection between her and cole deepen.
Diamond Back ranch definitely feels like a dream place with head strong females, heartthrob cowboys and a found family that is just so wholesome. Im definitely looking forward to the next book.
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5

The first half of this was brilliant, I couldn't put it down.
I loved the characters & the plot, the FMC was really relatable but I was slightly disappointed that we had pretty much closed door spicy scenes. There was build up each time the FMC & the MMC were together & feel like having spice in this could have made it a 4 or 5 star read.
Overall a good little read, short & sweet great summer read!

Thank you net gallery for this ARC.

I think if you are a fan of Elsie Silver and Lyla Sage you will definitely like this book. I really liked this book and had such a fun time while reading it. The setting was just perfection and I just loved all the vibes it gave off and I feel like it's perfect to read in the summer. There is a rival ranch in this book and all the drama and everything surrounding that I thought it was just entertaining. I loved both main characters and all the side characters and I am really excited for the next book as I can't wait to be back with this group of characters.
This book is told I'm first person but only told in Lottie's the FMC point of view but you do get a bonus chapter at the end from Cole's POV, I just wished this whole book was dual POV because I wanted to delve into Cole's inner thoughts and monologues.

This is a fun cowboy romance, and definitely a cute addition to the genre - really loved Lottie's character growth [whilst questioning her social media tactics] and Cole was a delight if a little less three-dimensional for me. The Big Conflict also lacked in some depth - which is fine! I don't always want depth in my light-hearted cowboy romance scenarios! - but definitely could have been fleshed out a bit more for added DRAMA.

Sweet, relatable, and a great addition to the cowboy genre! And really, is there anything sweeter than a cowboy who goes from hating your guts to worshipping you like the sun?
