I love Roo's social media presence, and reading this book was truly like watching a video of hers. Her personality and quips shone through perfectly. If you're not familiar with her particular brand of chaos, it might not be the book for you.
For some people, the tips may be a little "you already know this but just in case", and while some of it was a bit repetitive it was still a great read.
The Roo Recommends chapter at the end was great, I've picked up plenty of movie, TV, and book suggestions from there to try out.

Getting Sh*t Done
Roo Day
‘I'm a huge believer that doing the bare minimum is infinitely better than doing nothing at all, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with half-arsing your way through a task sometimes.’
Declutter or die. Scrub-a-doodle-doo and the classic Zoom zoom b*tches. All our favourite Roo wisdoms are here and plenty more. Her voice in my head whilst reading this was so clear from the hours of watching her voiceover videos, it’s done dividends. Liked her lists of favourites and brands, including her book ratings out of ten.
This book is brilliant motivation and the kick up the arse we all need. And yet it’s relatable and realistic that not every day will you have all the energy to inject into tasks. Great book, enjoyable read.

Lots of advice and fun to read, if you don't follow Roo already, I suggest you do!
I did find myself reading this in a kind of "Roo speed clean" way, and then ordered myself some white vinegar from Amazon.

I absolutely love to listen to Roo yap (I don't even care about what) and reading this I could literally hear her, haha. I also listened to the audiobook and her talking speed? Fantastic, I didn't even mind listening on 1x speed, it was actually perfect!
The contents weren't anything out of this world and very realistic goals and habits to actually Get(ting) Sh*t Done!
I already said that I can listen to Roo talk for ages and read her words for just as long, so I wouldn't have minded an even longer book xD.
Well done Roo, this book is GORGEOUS inside and out!

I have followed Roo for as long as I can remember on instagram, when I found out she was publishing a book I knew I needed to read it and I was so grateful that I got to read an ARC!! I devoured this book in a day and will never stop recommending it to people to read!

thank you Netgalley and Ebury Publishing (Penguin Random House) for the ARC of this book!
I enjoyed Roo´s tips for deep cleaning and their questions about what are the basic to do´s you need to in a day to stay over water (a list is pending in my notes app). Overall this book made me giggle and had a fun approach to cleaning and using your time effectively (use the 2 minutes your kettle needs to load the dishwasher). Unfortunately it was not as inspiring about getting my life chaos together as I thought it would be - but that might be a me problem.

Really enjoyable read. If you are a loyal Instagram follower of the author this book really demonstrates her witty yet down to earth personality on paper. The book is filled with heaps of tips to help you stay organised without making you feel awful that you don’t have your life together. I felt this book was really refreshing and didn’t preach at you, but rather gave you sound advice that you could easily act on.

I've followed Roo aka @homewithroo for a long time and love her content. In Getting Sh*t Done Roo's voice shines through, it's as though she's talking to you like a best friend, a really fun read. I imagine the audiobook is great too.
5 stars.

This book is such a waste of paper it was or will be printed on. Being the length of a brochure (#ThisCouldHaveBeenAnEbook), "Getting Sh*t Done" is so full of contradictions - on one hand, proclaims hyperproductivity and on the other suggests it's about being a lazy girl.
After heaving read books that actually help people sort out their home environment, but most of all, their attitude about keeping a house (I'm looking at KC Davis and Dana K. White), this was like a slap on the face, but not not in a good way. What made me dislike this book so much?
1. The language. C'mon, we're all adults here, you don't need to use an asterisk when you want to curse. What is anyone gaining if you're calling your readers "b*tches" instead of "bitches"?
2. Telling the readers what things to do but not how to do them.
3. Implication that's a woman's job to somehow do the above things.
4. Product placements. How are the books or cosmetics that the author likes relevant in any way?
5. This book is just pointless. Doesn't introduce any new ideas that aren't already there - small steps, habit stacking, bla bla bla. Quite the contrary - it actually reinforces the notion of not doing housework as a kind of moral failing.
It feels like this book was just a money grab and a pointless attempt to turn the content made for social media into a printed publication which rarely proves fruitful or actually useful for the readers.

Thank you to Ebury Publishing, Penguin Random House, the author and NetGalley for a digital ARC in return for an honest review.
This was an unexpected joy! I have to admit I had never heard of Roo Day before I requested this book (I know, sorry) but now that I know she is a wonderfully funny, quirky, master of getting sh*t done, I will definitely be subscribing to her @homewithroo account on Instagram. She offers a fun, light-hearted approach to the everyday tasks that many of us find mundane and boring.
I requested the digital version of this book, but it was practically unreadable on the NetGalley reader. For some reason as you swiped to the next page and inadvertently swiped slightly upwards the whole page would wobble and disappear off the top of the screen. This being very irritating I downloaded it to my Kindle which worked perfectly. I also downloaded the audiobook version and noted that the author sometimes, as an added bonus, added extra sentences here and there that were not shown on the ebook. The digital version however, did have very handy interactive spaces for making notes, to-do lists, highlight key sections and bookmark sections for quick reference. Also the added bonus of 'Things my cat wrote' was genius!
I love it when authors narrate their own books and actually have the voice to make it a captivating experience. There is nothing worse than opening a much longed for audiobook to find that the narrator has a boring monotone voice that makes you want to DNF. Roo writes and speaks the way real people actually speak — swearing, laughing, and not pretending to have it all together thus creating a sense of trust and relatability that’s missing from other polished, often unattainable standards of many lifestyle influencers content.
This is Roo's debut novel, I hope there are more!
If you have been procrastinating with your household tasks, read this book without delay...preferably as an audiobook so you can obviously multi-task and habit-stack to your hearts content!
As Mark Twain said...“The secret of getting ahead is getting started.”

The pacing was a bit slow. The introduction and information about the author/the book lasted for a few pages, so the first chapter didn't start until 15% in.
I liked that the theme throughout this book was to not worry about getting everything done at once and that nobody is perfect.
The slang didn't always work for me and while there were a couple of tips/hacks that seemed helpful, the rest weren't very original.
I'm sure other readers would enjoy this book but unfortunately it wasn't for me.
*Thank you to @Netgalley, the author, and the publishers for providing this ARC. This is my own opinion and an honest review, which I am leaving voluntarily*

I have followed Roo on Instagram for a while and this book is as funny as her videos but also gives good tips for everyday.

I really loved this. I had seen a lot of this before but the ideas were really fresh. I am glad I had a chance to read this. I will be purchasing in paperback format.
I would reccomend to anyone who likes this type of thing as it was very easy to follow.
Well done to the author :) I would happily buy something from them again. Can’t wait to see what they write next. And I will be looking to see how if they have received any others.

How did this book feel like a warm, validating hug?!
Roo’s quirky, funny and comforting writing style immediately hits you and makes you feel at home in the pages. Whether you’re a productive clean queen (or most likely not, as all us ‘wanting to do the bare minimum for max results’ pick this book up in hopes to learn a thing or two), it’s a perfect read for everyone.
I got this as an ebook but will most definitely be wanting this as a physical copy too. It was such a quick hit of no-nonsense fun, advice and chat, it was so easy to read. It honestly felt more like rocking up with a friend and a couple of drinks, sitting down for a laid back chat whilst they impart some knowledge bombs on you.
And of course, I did take away things from this book too (how was I not aware of Habit Stacking?!) but also left with a smile. Which is all you could ask for and more.
If you’re not following Roo already, do eeet. I’ve been following her for a while and she never fails to add a bright spark into the Instagram space, which can be full of perfect influencers that left you feel less than adequate. She doesn’t, she builds you up and she transfers this expertly over to her book too. A definite recommend!

I enjoyed this and it had some great tips on how to manage your time successfully and effectively. I especially liked the advice about not worrying if each job is not done perfectly; anything is better than nothing! I wasn’t so keen on the slang - such as ‘hun’ but I suspect I am on the older side of the target market for this!

I have followed Roo for a while on social media and this book is a mix of what she mentions there with added incentive to get it down yourself.
The tips are genuinely helpful and encouraging and it's nice to have context to her posts too.
