Loved reading this book. Loved Listening even more. The narrators were well paced and were able to bring these characters to life for me. Thank you Net Galley and Brittany Ann for sharing this amazing story with me.

Sorry I could not finish this one. It started off strong and I was really interested to see where it was going and how the FMC was going to do with her fresh start. Then our 2 MCs met and it went downhill for me from there. It was just a bit too cringe for me. I did like the narration and thought they both did a good job.

Thank you so much NetGalley and RBmedia for the ALC in exchange for an honest review!

This book was very cringe and hard to get through. It took me a longer than normal to get through since I really just could not get into it.

The romance was either going too slow or too fast, no in between, and wasn't very enjoyable.

The narrators were decent, though it was hilarious to listen to the male narrator voice Carrie (FMC) during the spicy scenes.

OMG! The ending was everything I wanted and a little bit more.
I needed an audiobook like this one.
It would be awesome if the same narrators could do the audiobook for book 2. They make a great team.

Catch Me When I Fall
By Brittany Ann
Narrated by Penny Liu: Alex Kydd

FIRST OFF THE CLIFFHANGER. I LITERALLY NEED THE NEXT BOOK ASAP!
I love Carrie and Grayson! I just love the interactions between them. How Grayson immediately felt a little something for Carrie right away! Carries past really hurt my heart for her, she had been through so much in her life.
I loved the narration of this book it really brought these characters to life for me. I didn’t know this was also weaved into another series so I will have to read those as well!

Thank you NetGalley and Tantor Audio for the ALC audiobook. All opinions are my own.

From the very first pages, this book immediately drew me in with its emotional writing style and dual POV format. I was expecting a typical romance, but it surprised me with its suspenseful undertones and deep emotional arc—especially for the heroine, Carrie. Her growth felt authentic, her struggles with depression were portrayed with care, and the writing allowed me to clearly envision her and connect to her journey. Penny Liu, the narrator for Carrie, did a fantastic job bringing her emotions to life. Grayson, the male lead, on the other hand, left me confused. His motives weren’t clear, his feelings felt forced, and while the book hinted at a dark past, it wasn’t explored deeply enough to make an impact. His point of view didn’t reveal much outside of his obsession with Carrie, and the male narrator’s voice came across as emotionally muted.

While the plot had potential and the twists kept me intrigued, too many questions were left unanswered. The ending felt abrupt and unresolved—not like a teaser, but like the story just stopped mid-thought. The cover design is stunning and fits the mysterious tone well, though I wish the title had held more layered meaning than it did. Ultimately, I gave this book 3 out of 5 stars. There were strong elements, especially Carrie’s emotional journey and the writing style, but overall, it left me underwhelmed. If there’s a book two coming, I can’t say I’m looking forward to it.

"Catch Me When I Fall" dives right into a world where past trauma clashes with unexpected attraction. While the premise is definitely intriguing and the action sequences deliver, the execution sometimes left me wishing for a deeper exploration of its characters and their complex circumstances.
The story introduces us to Carrie, a woman whose life was completely shattered a year ago. After a traumatic event, she finds herself escaping a rehabilitation center, leaving her old life behind. Her internal struggle is clear: she's a changed woman, now hunted by an unseen force. On the other side, we have Grayson, a former military man who finds his purpose in bounty hunting with his team at Red Snake Investigations. His world of tracking and capturing takes an unexpected turn when he's tasked with finding Carrie. It sets up a high-stakes chase with a romantic twist, which I was excited for.
The strengths of the novel really shine in its action and the core "hunter falls for prey" dynamic. The pursuit sequences are engaging, and Grayson's dedication to his work and his team is well-established. However, the emotional depth of both Carrie's trauma and the budding romance felt a little underdeveloped to me. Carrie's past is hinted at with significant weight, but the full impact of her "world flipped upside down" often felt more told than shown, making it harder to fully connect with her pain and transformation. Similarly, Grayson's quick development of feelings for his "mark" felt a bit rushed, leaving less room for the slow burn and emotional build-up that could have made their connection much more compelling.
Ultimately, "Catch Me When I Fall" provides a quick and adventurous read, but it doesn't quite delve into the nuances of its characters' emotional journeys as deeply as it could have. It's a decent read if you're looking for a mix of action and romance, but it ultimately lands as a three-star experience for me—enjoyable enough, but without the lasting impact of a truly profound connection.

This book was… interesting, to say the least. I’m struggling with how to rate it because I don’t know if I liked it or disliked it. I did really enjoy the narrators and thought Alex Kydd and Penny Liu did a fantastic job but the story let me down at some points. I found the insta love/lust to be entirely too ridiculous, when I typically enjoy the trope but I loved Carrie’s found family in the Astoria community. Will read the second book in this duet when it comes out.

First of all, thank you for this arc.
I loved this book. I thought Carrie and Grayson were such a great couple. It was one plot after another and I was very involved in it. I loved the dual point of view, I think the pace was fast and quick to understand and get involved in the story. I really enjoyed it, I'm incredibly excited for the second book and would recommend this book to people who want a super cute romance with depth and twist after twist.
4 stars. I really liked. Thanks again for the arc:)

DNF at 70%

I really tried to give this book a fair chance and finish it, however at 70% I just couldn't continue with it. The biggest problem for me was the insta-love/attraction. Like when she sees him for the first time, in the dark, under a streetlamp, she immediately thinks to herself that she needs to have him?? Not only that but he is also infatuated with her from the get go, even though he is supposed to be the a serious and professional bounty hunter...
I really liked the premise of this book, however I think that this book is not for slow-burn-lovers like me.

This was the first audiobook that I have ever listened to, and I am so happy that it was with one of Brittany's books. This story is so incredible. It is moving and gripping and addicting. The voice actors are incredible. The first time that I heard Joseph Grayson's voice in this story, I was hooked. Each time I heard him say the word Sunshine, I felt like I was there. You could hear the pain in Carrie's voice, and you could feel her recovery from her trauma. I honestly cannot wait for the next one.

Catch Me When I Fall is the first book in a duet and ends on a cliffhanger that I wasn’t prepared for. The narrators were phenomenal and I really enjoyed listening to this book. The story had me captivated from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put it down. That cliffhanger though….

I really enjoyed the dual POV and that Carrie and Grayson had their own narrators. I felt that brought the story to life more and both narrators really helped with that. Carrie has been through so much with the abuse she experienced and her strength was amazing. I love that she wasn’t afraid to start over in a new place and that led her to Grayson. Grayson has some dark things in his past also and I love how once he met Carrie, she became his sunshine. I can’t wait to see how their story continues.

I've read a couple books by Brittany Ann in the past and liked then but this one might be my favorite so far. I loved the choice of narrators, they really brought this book to life for me. I've been putting this book off in hopes that it might get an audiobook and I'm so happy that it did, it really did this book justice. I CAN'T WAIT TO READ PART TWO.

Catch Me When I Fall
Rating: 2/5 stars
Audiobook

Thank you RB Media and NetGalley for providing this ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts.

I was drawn to Catch Me When I Fall by Brittany Ann because of its intriguing premise—a bounty hunter chasing a runaway woman and falling for her along the way. Unfortunately, the execution didn’t quite live up to my expectations.

The book had potential with its emotional themes and suspenseful setup, but I found the pacing uneven and the character development lacking. The romance felt rushed which made it hard for me to connect with Carrie and Grayson as a couple. There were moments where I wanted to feel for them, but the story didn’t give me enough depth or buildup to feel fully invested in their relationship.

Some of the plot twists felt forced or overly dramatic and the dialogue didn’t always feel natural. The ending, while clearly meant to hook readers for the sequel, left me more frustrated than curious.

Overall, while there were some emotional moments and strong storytelling when it came to Carrie’s backstory, Catch Me When I Fall didn’t quite hit the mark for me. Readers who enjoy fast-paced romance with high drama might still enjoy it, but it just wasn’t for me.

I love the Brittany-verse. I had the pleasure of chatting with her earlier this year about all her books and when she told me Catch e when I fall was coming to audio, I said sign me up! Alex Kydd, who is one of my favorites never dissapoints and this was a first Penny Liu for me and she did AMAZING. If you are fans of Brittany, you dont want to miss this! This is for fans of Romantic Suspense, a very morally grey MMC, Small Town, and a Bounty Hunter MMC. Thank you so much to RB Media and Netgalley for this ALC.

- Dark romance
- Protector
- Found family
- Small town

I have been looking forward to this book for what seems like years and I was not disappointed! (Except that I read it so fast and have to wait for the next in the duet!)

We met both Grayson and Carrie in previous books. Grayson is growly and broody and I love that. (Inserting yet another reminder that I am SO READY for Mags's story). Carrrie is running from her unpleasant past and finds herself in a small town that is perfect to start over. Or so she thinks...

Grayson is one of the top bounty hunters in the country (maybe world?) Grayson is shaken by the way he FEELS about Carrie. It's unusual for him to make any connection to a case. He becomes OBSESSED with her after reading her files. Oh, to be the object of that man's focus.... but I digress.

I absolutely LOVED how Carrie starts to gain confidence in herself after the way she was treated in the past by her father and husband. No one writes this growth better than Brittany. I am constantly in awe of how real her characters feel to me.

I knew there was going to be a cliffhanger, but I was still not ready for it. Mainly because I read the book so fast, I couldn't believe I reached the ending already. Now comes the hard part...waiting for the next book!

Although this book is not technically part of a series, all of Brittany's books are in the same interconnected world. Reading the other books will help enjoy this one as many of the characters from previous books are integral to this storyline.

"Everything about this man was dark, and if I had to guess, his soul was black."

I cannot believe the audiobook for Catch Me When I Fall is FINALLY HERE. When I heard Carrie and Grayson were getting an audiobook, I was so excited to hear them brought to life. Alex Kydd and Penny Liu did not disappoint! Alex and Penny took their story to the next level and I fell even harder.

Carrie Hale, a true badass who has to fight for her freedom, is such a powerful character. Seeing her confidence grow in herself after battling everything with those she had trusted gets me all emotional. Escaping a reality that she had to face, and still keeping up her optimism and spirits is something that not a lot of people could do, and I am in awe of how well Carrie is able to.

Now Joseph Grayson. The bounty hunter who gets obsessed with his latest mark. He'll do anything to protect her, even if it's not what the others want. And when he goes through hell and leaves her for months, he always find his way back to her, saving her in the process. You can feel how hurt he is when he hears the heartbreaking news, and you can't help but love him that much more.

Brittany does such a good job at not just creating this world of hers, but making all the characters feel real and relatable.

While CMWIF is a stand alone duology, all of Brittany's books are set in the same universe and characters do cross. However, it's not needed to read them prior to CMWIF.

Carrie (plus size sweetie who has been through wayyy to much) has been trapped for nearly a year in a rehab facility against her will and finally makes a plan of escape. While she runs and makes a new life for herself, Grayson (hot, former military bounty hunter) is hired by her family to find her and bring her back home. What Grayson doesn't count on is falling for his target.

This was a delicious lil audiobook! I loved the characters and Grayson's obsession (like actual) with Carrie was to. die. for. Especially the way he talked about her body?! Shut upppppp!!! l love a morally gray male character and Grayson definitely delivered. I also loved how sweet Carrie was and how she worked on healing from her trauma throughout.

The narrators for this book were also pretty great - I particularly loved the male narrator’s voicing of both characters and how he brought the story to life. The female narrator did a great job voicing Carrie, but her voice for Grayson was cringy at times and felt overly forced. But otherwise I absolutely devoured this!!!

I previously read this as an ebook and was excited to experience the audio. The cliffhanger hits even harder through audio that's for sure! Carrie and Grayson have such amazing chemistry, and I am so invested in seeing what happens in book 2. Alex did an especially solid job of portraying the mystery that envelops Grayson. I am trying to wait until the audio to read book 2 but I may have to just finally cave lol.

I was given the ALC by NetGalley, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book was enticing to listen too, a “light” darkish romance that is good for newcomers of the genre. This is the first of a duology, and naturally it ended on a blasted cliffhanger so I NEED the sequel.

Narrators were excellent, Alex Kydd as Grayson is delicious…to put it lightly. *fanning myself*

Carrie, the FMC, escapes a rehab facility where she had basically been a hostage for almost a year. Leaving her traumatic past and old self behind.

Grayson, the MMC, is a retired marine that is now a bounty hunter. Morally grey and hired to find Carrie by old friends from her past…but the moment he sees her there is no going back. There is only her.

The plot moved along at a decent pace, allowing enough suspense to keep you engaged. The burn was a bit slower but when it hits…it hits well. Cannot wait to read the sequel!
