❗Before reading this book, please read the trigger warnings.❗
Carrie Hale is in a locked up rehabilitation center against her will and without any problems. All the things that have happened in the past led her here. Now she is ready to start her life again.
Joseph Grayson has his own investigation service and is hired as a bounty hunter to find and return Carrie. He tries to find out everything about her, but the more he gets to know her the more he starts to be interested in her. He followed Carrie all the way to Astoria, where she has built a new life for herself. When it’s time to return Carrie, Grayson can’t do it. Has he really fallen for his mark?
I really enjoyed reading this book but at certain times I felt like the book lacked something. I would have loved it if there was more chemistry between the main characters. In my opinion, they fell in love in like a second without really knowing each other. I would have loved it if they were together for more of the story.
I listened to this book as an audiobook and I really liked the production. Both the narrators were great and easy to understand.
Overall I really liked the book and I would definitely recommend it if you are trying to get into dark romance. I can’t wait for the next book and the end of the story.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I enjoyed this book, but I definitely felt like I went in missing some backstory. I’m gathering that all the author’s series/collections have intertwined characters? I’m wondering if I would know more about our MC and some side characters, had I picked up some of her other work first. Since it felt like I was missing some info, I had a bit of a time getting into the story. Once I felt like I knew who was who, and what was generally going on with everyone… I finally started getting into the story. Now that I’m feeling more familiarized with the characters and plot, I’m likely to pick up the second book in the duet— especially because it ended on a cliffhanger!
I ultimately picked up this audiobook because I saw one of my favorite voice actors is part of the dual narration— Alex Kydd always gives a wonderful performance, and this time was no exception. He really added depth to the character with his deep and resonating voice. Penny Liu also did an awesome job, and her performance totally drew me in.
Please check TW before picking up this duet!

Thank you NetGalley, Brittany Ann and Tantor Audio for the ALC in exchange for my honest review.
Title: Catch Me When I Fall (Audiobook Review)
Author: Brittany Ann
Narrated by: Penny Liu & Alex Kydd
Brittany Ann's Catch Me When I Fall left me with somewhat mixed feelings. The intriguing blend of romantic suspense and darker, almost mafia-esque undertones held promise, and the audiobook narration by Penny Liu and Alex Kydd was undeniably a standout. However, certain aspects of the narrative structure impacted my overall enjoyment, resulting in a rating of 3.75 stars despite the 5-star audio production.
One of the primary challenges I faced was with the book's pacing. The narrative featured time jumps that felt inconsistent, which unfortunately disrupted the smooth progression of the story. I also struggled with the development of the central relationship, which seemed to unfold both rapidly and across a significant, yet somewhat unclear, timeframe. This made it difficult to fully invest in the romantic aspect.
Interestingly, the suspense portion of Catch Me When I Fall proved to be quite compelling. I found myself increasingly drawn into the unfolding mystery, a shift from my usual focus on romance development. This unexpected intrigue kept me listening, eager to see how the suspense would resolve.
The true strength of this experience, however, lies in the audiobook production. Penny Liu and Alex Kydd, both new narrators for me, delivered exceptional performances. The pacing and overall production quality of the audiobook were excellent. Penny Liu's narration was captivating, and I'm keen to hear more of her work. Alex Kydd, in particular, was a revelation. His immersive portrayal of the grumpy, darker character, with subtle nuances reminiscent of Joe Arden, was nearly perfect and has made him a new favorite narrator. I genuinely believe the audiobook format significantly enhanced my engagement with the story, and I likely would not have finished it in physical form.
Please note that Catch Me When I Fall is the first installment in a duet and concludes with a cliffhanger.
Recommended for: Those who appreciate romantic suspense with a darker edge and prioritize exceptional audiobook narration. If you value a seamless and consistently paced romantic development, you might find this story's structure less satisfying. However, the strength of the narration makes this a worthwhile listen for fans of the genre.

This story was captivating. The secrets, the mysterious past, the emotional roller coaster journey these character’s take you on. Carrie finds out her life was a lie and flees to start over. She picks a small town far away from St. Louis. Greyson is such a perfect broody bounty hunter that is so mysterious. He is hired to bring her back to St. Louis but happens to fall for her. I am hooked on their story and have to continue the story in book two of this duet.
The audiobook is narrated by Penny Liu and Alex Kydd. I loved these two with the narration. They had the best voices for the emotion and feel of the story. Alex Kydd’s voice is so good for this bounty hunter role!

Thank you to #TantorAudio and #NetGalley for an advance listening copy of #CatchMeWhenIFall. Dark, suspenseful and, spoiler alert, it ends on a real cliff hanger! Three stars.

3.5⭐️ Romantic suspense isn’t a favorite, but I enjoyed this one. It gets a bit chaotic towards the end, as we are left on a cliffhanger but I’m definitely invested and will be seeking out the second book in this duology. Carrie was a good FMC and I was empathetic to her journey. Her life hasn’t been easy at any point and all she’s hoping for is some calm. She doesn’t get it in this book. Grayson is hired to find her after she runs and is immediately enamored with her. I’m wary about the person that hired Grayson, because it seems like he gave up too easy after being informed that she was ok. Then there’s the revelations at the end. I have to know what happens next.
Big thank you’s to NetGalley for the ALC of this book!

I always tell myself I need to start paying attention to the books I read because I didn’t realize this ended on a cliffhanger 🤣🤣🤣
The beginning of the book was kind of like a rollercoaster ride, because I had no idea where the storyline was going, but it did level out.
I had been intrigued about Grayson since the moment we met him in the Langston Brothers duet! Being inside his POV his dark and captivating. He was such a possessive broody man…it was hot.
My biggest issue was how repetitive Carrie’s POV was. I understand she went through some traumatic things but her inner monologue never changed. I didn’t get to truly witness her grow as a person in this first part of the duet. It was all tell rather than show.
Narrators did a good job with the dual narration. There was a few times in the male POVs where the voice barely changed but I was reading along so I could recognize who was talking

Firstly, the narrators for this book were awesome. Penny sounds great, captures Carrie’s character brilliantly. Alex OMG his voice is sexy, sultry and rough, the perfect voice for Grayson and the person his character is. Perfect choice of narrators. *chefs kiss*
This book in my opinion was a 5 star read, brilliant characters, brilliant storyline, i really enjoyed it. Even a little spice (Alex being Grayson and talking dirty, actually made me blush lol)😂🥵can’t wait to read the next book, I’ve saved it to my kindle, gutted it isn’t out in audiobook yet.
So yeah, highly recommended

Carrie’s past is following her in small Astoria even when she is trying to break free and have a new life. Greyson’s goal is to find his bounty and take her back. But when he first sees Carrie he knows she is different, she is other half and needs to respect her wishes and let her be. But their attraction is so powerful that they can’t fight it. Can her past destroy their future? Looking forward to part two. The audiobook with Alex Kydd and Penny Liu is an intense experience. Thanks to NetGalley for the ALC copy. This is my honest review.

Holy smokes what a cliffhanger!!!!
MMC is guilty pleasure hot. Marine Corps vet, possessive in the best way, instant attraction, super intense. And the narrator for him, Alex Kydd was perfect for the character. I already loved him from Pucking Around so that was the best surprise!!
FMC is in her upper 20s, history of abuse, history of ED with a new phone love for her body. I love that she’s midsize and comfortable in her skin. She has done so much work to heal and I love her so much for that.
This is a great book. I can’t wait to read the next in the series.

Thank you to NetGalley and RBmedia for an arc of this audiobook.
I gave this book 4 stars.
First of all, holy cliffhanger! I didn’t realize this was going to be a series going into it and it felt like it abruptly ended on a cliffhanger. But it worked for the book and I definitely will be seeking out the second in the series.
This book is about Carrie and Grayson (aka Bounty Hunter). Carrie had escaped from a mental hospital and wants to start her life over in a small town, which she does. She finds a place to settle and makes a best friend. Her friend and the friends husband supports Carrie and Carrie finds she is happy there.
Grayson helped start the company Red Snake investigations and gets called on a bounty to collect Carrie. When he finds her, he is awed by her and realizes he doesn’t want to take her in. He promises he will leave her alone.
They both can’t stop thinking of eachother. Grayson knows Carrie is the one so he eventually decides to go back. They have an evening together and then after promising he’ll come back, he stays away for 6 months.
They both try to feel out this relationship many things happen in the meantime. We find out who was hunting Carrie and what she endured because going to the mental hospital against her will.
At first I was unsure about this book. But when Carrie and Grayson met I was hooked.
The narration was great! Penny Liu and Alex Kydd both narrated this book and I truly enjoyed both of their voices.

Brittany does it again!! Another five star and it left me wanting for more. The story is beautiful and I was addicted to it from the very first page. I could see the other shoe coming but still, I enjoyed the book too much to be bothered about it. For the first time ever I love a cliffhanger so much that I am very excited for the next part of the Duet, as now I will get to see the unhinged version of Grayson.
The duet narration is perfect and the narrators Alex Kydd & Penny Liu has set the tone right making me swoon over them again and again. Carrie is an angel and her story is heartening, it will help many people to start believing in themselves and just forget about the scales, they don’t define who you are as a person. I love both the characters and their bits and pieces of life is captivating. I just kept on turning pages to soothe my curiosity about the plot. A must-listen for sure.

spice: open door
After really enjoying previous books from this author, this was a bit of a disappointment. In the beginning I didn't understand a thing that was happening or who was who. The crossover from multiple other series was just super confusing. I didn't buy into Grayson being obsessed with Carrie. It just felt baseless and the chemistry wasn't there. After being controlled by her father and husband her whole life I can't image her with someone like Grayson who orders her around. It just didn't work for me. The audio isn't terrible I suppose.
thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the alc in exchange for an honest review

f you’re looking for a dark romance filled with plot twists along the way...THIS book 10x
This book made me feel all the feelings at once!!!
I got to listen to the audiobook as an ARC reader and OMG ALEX freaking KYDD! THATS All I have to say. It's ALWAYS A GOOD TIME!
This is my first book from Brittany Ann and When I tell you I HAD TOO immediately get the second book in the series three seconds after finishing.

I read this last August and fell in love with it. Listening to the audiobook made me love it even more.

There are cliffhangers and then there are Brittany’s cliffhangers. My heart has literally fallen out of my chest and I need book 2 to put it back where it belongs. I am absolutely obsessed with Grayson, not as much as Denver, but he’s definitely up there. And seeing him with Carrie 🫠🫠🫠 Brittany does nothing better than get me emotionally invested in characters to the point their pains and happiness are my own. I live for her books and this is just another book that will live forever rent free in my mind. Seeing them come together and realizing their feelings for each other, amazing. The narrators also helped bring this story to life and hit me emotionally in another level. Ugh Grayson 🫠🫠 I must now impatiently wait for book 2 in audio and I needed it like yesterday.

While the writing and story idea was good, I was unable to complete this book and DNF at 60%.
I think a lot of the issues I had with this were the supporting characters. I was given this as an advanced listeners copy but I clearly needed to read the other books in the series if I wanted to get more enjoyment from it. I also didn't really enjoy several aspects of the story. For example, when her nipples got hard because she saw the MMC in the dark street, at night, more specifically standing under the only burnt out streetlamp. Her body just knew it needed him. I mean 🙄, really? Because men lurking in the dark make me 💦 in my panties and lose hours of my life staring at them... The author lost me there.
In addition to the excess of characters, at 60% in I still didn't quite understand why the FMC ran away from her friends who paid a forking bounty hunter to find her. Overall, I just couldn't stick with this one. Maybe I'll try starting at the beginning of the series and see if I enjoy it better having some more background with the other characters. I'm not a fan of insta-lust, so if all her books are like this, I'm probably not going to enjoy them.
The writing itself was good, easy to listen to and the audiobook was well done. Not my favorite narrators, but they did a good job of keeping my interest to at least the 60% mark.

Carrie has so much going against her until she finds a place that finally feels safe, but then a bounty hunter, Grayson, shows up and it complicates her situation. He can't stay away and she doesn't want him to.
The pacing was great. It kept me hooked and I kept wondering what was going on, in a good way, not in a confused way.
This was a fun read. It has enough story to keep me engrossed but also little bits to want me to come back for more. There is still so much to be unraveled and I'm excited for the next book.

Catch Me When I Fall: A Dark Bounty Hunter Romance
Carrie
My life changed dramatically a year ago, and my world was flipped upside down. Everything I thought I knew was a lie, and just when I thought things couldn’t get any worse, they did, and I lost hope. The world moved on, and I was at a standstill. I spent eleven months in a rehabilitation center, trapped against my will. My body, mind, and soul underwent a significant transformation. The old Carrie was dead, and it was time to move on. I left my former life behind forever. When I ran, the last thing I expected was to be hunted.
If you’re looking for a dark, intense romance filled with unexpected twists, Catch Me When I Fall is what you need. As a first-time reader of Brittany Ann, I was hooked from the start, making it a must-read for anyone who loves romance with a twist. This book evoked feelings of anger, sadness, happiness, and rage. It’s a dark romance that tackles heavy topics.
Narrated to perfection 🥰

I enjoyed this book! This is the first bounty hunter romance that I’ve read, but I love smutty, dark romance so this sounded right up my alley!
I liked the characters and connected with them enough that I’m excited for the second book to find out how it ends! There were some twists that I didn’t see coming. Overall it was a super solid book and I’m excited to read the next one!
Alex Kydd is one of my favorite audiobook narrators so I love listening to anything he voices. The flow was beautiful between both narrators.
Thank you to Tantor Audio and NetGalley for the early release copy of the audiobook!
