I loved this book, everything about it. The journey, the self-discovery. This is just what I needed. Thanks for the opportunity to read it!

Great nature writing and hiking non- fiction, Brenda K. Uekert writes with adventurous spirit, honesty, and vulnerability in her engaging hiking memoir. I have dreamed of a solo hiking adventure like this, so experiencing it vicariously through this book was inspiring

The Woman on the Ferry is a travel memoir written by a women doing it on her own terms. A thousand miles, bit by bit, in the great outdoors. It is a more down to earth journey rather than one of extreme adventure and a lot of people will relate to it. Overall a nice easy read
.

A gorgeous and spiritual memoir about the author hiking 1000 miles over several months. A little bit reminiscent of Wild by Cheryl Strayed, but with all due respect to Ms. Strayed, I found this book resonated with me more deeply. The title is an homage to a woman with unbridled joy and natural love for life, who then became a friend of the author and a partial inspiration for the hike.
The nature scenes are depicted beautifully, and it’s a warm and cozy/hygge rendering of something that normally sets of my anxiety with my asthma - hiking.
Whilst some of my personality mirrors the author’s in terms of efficiency and planning for events, I love that she reached an epiphany that I’m trying to reach myself - “Staying open to the magic that can happen when we let go.”
Overall I absolutely adored this book.

Brenda K. Uekert writes with adventurous spirit, honesty, and vulnerability in her engaging hiking memoir. She takes us along on trails of the American West as she sets out to hike one thousand miles in five months. Her writing style is so engaging, as she shares details of both the natural world and her own life and emotions.
I found Uekert's book to be an inspirational and motivational page turner, and her imagery and descriptions took me to the forest, desert, and mountains. Although I may not buy an RV for travel, she makes me want to set new challenges for myself in the outdoors.
I received a complimentary advance reader's copy from BooksGoSocial and NetGalley. My review is my own.

I really Envy Brenda and the amazing adventure that she embarked on. To be one with Nature, to leave behind the stressed of the 9to5 and to truly find herself again, I could imagine it all through lovely descriptions and situations that she found herself in.
Well worth a read if you love adventure and exploring the world through the eyes if a solo traveller

I love books about travel and hiking, and The Woman on the Ferry really spoke to me. Brenda Uekert writes in a simple and honest way about walking 1,000 miles, but it’s just as much about an inner journey as a physical one.
Her descriptions of nature and the people she meets along the way are beautiful and real. I felt like I was right there with her. Her journey to finding inner peace was beautiful.
It’s an easy read, but it stays with you. If you enjoy travel stories with warmth, reflection, and a strong connection to nature, I highly recommend this one.

Great nature writing and hiking non- fiction .the writing captures the simplicity of hiking, the fresh air and nature and all the challenges of being out in the wild. Information on a number of the trails in USA. Female writing - very enjoyable. Thank you to the author. Thank you to #netgalley and the publisher for an ARC.

I will forever be recommending this book to anyone going through a rough patch or does not kiow what to do next in life - this is an essential read and story that anyone can relate to! I really loved the format and the flow of the writing as well as the realistic viewpoint on joy and how the challenges we face can construct our mindset.
