If you’ve ever suffered abuse in the church (in any capacity) this book is for you. It helps you identify people that you will come across and the different types of abuse you can expect. It’s nice just to hear about others experiences because if you’ve ever been abused in the church, you can feel so alone. Because others will usually turn on you for some reason (probably because if you ever say something, you are seen as causing trouble. That’s at least how I’ve been told not to say anything- “don’t cause trouble.”) But it was just nice to know that other people go through this too.
Thank you to NetGalley for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

Wolves among as written by Linda Shirey has proferred a lot to like, absorb and reflect on. The vast majority of the book is spot on and is good for those who know "wolves" when they see, meet or hear one.
However, some of her examples of things wolves in the church say are also things that others Christians in the church will also say. The book is overgeneralized to the point of missing its very important mark in a lot of ways. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this book to anyone who has discernment issues, as it could potentially lead them astray from those who are not wolves.

Book is great about being gentle with yourself if you’re not able to determine the wolves right away.
Also helpful in learning to protect yourself from said wolves if you’ve been harmed in the past.
Well written, inclusive, and compassionate. And so far haven’t seen any toxic Christianity as have in some other recent “Christian” books I’ve read on this platform, which is a great plus. I’m both a Priest’s daughter (my Mom is liberal and compassionate to ALL kind humans, and I choose to follow suite) and a loved one and ally to members of the LGBTQ2SIA+ community.
