Quick Summary: An opposites attract, rocker-paparazzi romance

My Review: I Want to Rock With You by Mary Ann Marlowe is book #2 in The Most Wanted series. It was originally released in 2017. This novel features Micah's story.

About the Book: "Climbing onto the shoulders of a beautiful stranger...

I climb this mouth-wateringly delicious man and ride him like a parade float.

And maybe I am an incompetent paparazza because I don’t even realize the dude between my thighs is Micah Sinclair..."

In My Own Words: A chance encounter with a beautiful, blue-eyed knight in shining armor makes a paparazzi-in-training fall to pieces.

About the Characters: I can now see the characters a bit better than I did in book one. Their personalities are taking shape. Although the existing band members went in a new direction, each member has a draw of sorts. The support characters, pro and ant, added texture to the story.

About the Couple:

In terms of Jo and Micah, they were interesting to watch. They worked, despite their opposing professions.

What I Liked:

- I liked the rocker vs the photog angle.

- I liked that Jo had a mixed heritage.

- I liked that Eden and Adam were written so well into the story. It was nice to see what was going on with them.

- I liked the caretaker role that Zion had. It made him endearing.

- I liked that a character with a serious health issue was featured.

- I liked Eden and Micah's parents better in this one.

- I liked Lennon. I want to know her story.

What I Did Not Like/Understand:

- The whole angle with Jo's dad seemed incomplete. I understood where she landed, but I expected more to come from the introduction of that storyline, especially since it showed up at various points in the story.

- There was a whole section of a chapter that was a bit confusing. The language lost me. (When I read, I don't want to get so lost in wording that I have to slow down my pacing in an effort to absorb what is being said. I would rather it flow. It felt like I stumbled into a conversation with three characters when there were only two. This is a personal preference, but yeah...no.)

- The Andy situation played out differently than I would have logically thought. There were some legal avenues that should have/could have been explored. I kept wondering about the why not of that.

- Eden came across notably harder and more assertive in this installment. What happened? The timing between book one and book two - did she change so quickly?

My Final Say: This is the second novel I have read by this author. I liked this story. I think Jo and Micah worked.

Other: Readers who enjoy rocker romances and poli-co contemporaries should like this novel.
