3.5 rounded up.
I went into this blind based almost purely on the cover and based on that and the first 25% ish i thought it was a super hero rom com. Then WHAM all of a sudden we have a crazy mystery, a complex interplanetary plot, and monster / alien porn.
Not to say that I didn't still eat it up, I was totally hooked for the plot, but the romance had me wishy washy. I loved them together most of the time, but I didn't like his way of easing her into intimacy involving light choking out the gate, and some minor dom/sub play. It just felt too rushed given what we were learning about her past and her anxiety.

Thank you to Netgalley and Montlake for this ARC (I actually have the audiobook ARC and bought the paperback, and alternated between the two).

This is such a fun book! From the banter between Rollo and Nessa, to the relationship with her brothers, to the endearing inner thoughts Rollo has - major touch her and die vibes, you'll have a great time with this one. I like how Stephens approaches a classic superhero vs villains world in a different way, giving a nod to one of the most famous alien-human relationships to ever exist.

One of my favorite things about the book is how Nessa may have come from a traumatic background, but she's loved by everyone around her and is overall lovable, even by skateboard kids (loved that part!).

I can't wait to read the sequel and see where this world goes. What shenanigans will Nessa and Rollo get into next?

Decent book with a good premise. I loved that the characters are all very diverse and well fleshed out. The relationship was okay, it wasn't my favorite. I just couldn't see them together. The book does come with a significant Trigger List that I don't actually remember seeing before jumping in the book. I would advise looking at the whole list before going into this one since I know some of these TW are intense.

The flow of the book I think is where I struggled. The writing has potential but the plot felt like 3 books that was forced into one book. The book was constantly jumping from one thing to another and it made the book a little confusing.

I also hated the spice. There was too much and I didn't like the way they were written.

We need more books like All Superheroes Need PR. This was such a fun and unique read and I would like 100 more like these! Elizabeth Stephens did such a fun job of capturing such a captivating story and I flew through it. The audiobook was also phenomenal, and the cover was the first thing that stood out to me. We are being intentional about making sure this book is available in our bookstore!

Have you watched "the boys"?! I totally got those bad ass vibes from this! Alien superheroes+ a bad ass relatable FMC. Rolo aka the wyvern 🫠 had me in a puddle multiple times. I was laughing out loud on multiple occasions.

And the side characters!! Loved them all so much I hope this turns into a series. There was loads of representation in this book as well. Definitely a favorite of the month!

Soooooooooo how do I explain All Superheroes Need PR? If you took I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore, Renegades by Marissa Meyer, and the smuttiest monster romance by CM Nascosta rolled all into one. Remember that scene from Breaking Dawn where Edward didn’t want to hurt Bella during sexy time and then it fades to black? This one does not fade to black AT ALL and he ROCKS her world with his super hero 🐓! 💅🏻 And it was GOOOOOOOD!

If you need more reason to pick it up, that isn’t smutty and or sexy at all, there is fighting and superhero activities that also happen. Her life is threatened and he goes all touch her and die. But I also find that super sexy, sooo…!!!

Thank you to Montlake Publishing and NetGalley for my ALC.

ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS!

I had received an audio arc from the author Elizabeth Stephens via NetGalley, the audio was perfection!

Superhero romance is a new to me combo but it worked so well. Loved the world and all the characters.
Sprinkling of omegaverse vibes at the end sent me screaming.

Loved the banter between Vanessa and Roland. Always great to read a relatable FMC. Roland’s (MMC) perspective was priceless. His inner monologues had me kicking my feet with how immediately obsessed he was.

All Superheroes Need PR by Elizabeth Stephens has very quickly become one of my favorite books I have read this year.

Broody, cold Superhero Roland Casteel (AKA the Pyro) becomes obsessed with his new Shy PR director Vanessa Theriot immediately upon meeting her, and it's decided that to change his image, she will become his Lois Lane.

This book truly has everything that I love in a book, fated mates, fake dating, a beautiful monster man, and the most fantastic spicy scenes.

I can't wait for the future books in this series and have loved every second I spent in this world.

This book had me giggling, gasping, and falling to the floor (especially whenever Sean Bassett spoke in this audiobook)

Both narrators were fantastic, and I would relisten to this audiobook over again in a heartbeat.

Thank you so much Brilliance Publishing & Brilliance Audio for an opportunity to listen to this alc!

I’m obsessed. Elizabeth Stephens does it again—*All Superheroes Need PR* is a knockout blend of action, steam, and heart. Her recent releases have all been bangers, but this might just be my favourite yet.

The audiobook? Absolutely top-tier. The narrators *nail* the chemistry and character voices—funny, swoony, and perfectly paced. If you love audio, you *have* to listen to this one.

Think: Smallville meets The Incredibles—but make it Black, bold, spicy, and smarter. With supernatural shenanigans, real emotional depth, and one hell of a romantic arc, this book delivers on every level.

💥 Tropes & Themes to Love:
- Villain-to-hero
- Touch-her-and-die energy
- Fake dating (Lois Lane clause!)
- Workplace romance – shy PR rep x alpha pyro in need of a rebrand 🔥
- Spicy (yes, knotting 🌶️)
- Anxiety rep – beautifully done and relatable
- Found family vibes with a lovable, diverse crew who would go to war for you (literally!)
- Fated mates with real payoff
- Big worldbuilding energy - I’m thinking I need 48 books set in this world!!!

If you’re into superhero rom-coms with a punch of heat and heart, *All Superheroes Need PR* is your next must-read (or must-listen). Add it to your TBR and thank me later.

I did not expect this book to be so hilarious?? Pyro's inner monologue had me laughing my way through the story. It was spicy, sweet, and so much fun!

I listened to the audiobook and the narrators did an INCREDIBLE job bringing these characters to life. Highly recommend!!

I absolutely love Elizabeth Stephens books. I’m so happy to her getting traditionally published. I loved this alien/monster smut. It was a little unexpected twist I didn’t see coming and I devoured it.

The audiobook in this was stunning.

Here's the thing, was I surprised with the way this ended? Yes. but I should've known since I have read other Elizabeth Stephens books. Like Jaw on the floor amazing. Love. I adored every little things about this.

I loved All Superheroes Need PR by Elizabeth Stephens. From the moment I dove in, it had me hooked. The mix of humour, heart, and just the right amount of chaos made it impossible to put down. The characters are vibrant and relatable—especially the lead, who’s juggling everything with a perfect blend of wit and vulnerability. It’s that kind of story that makes you smile, laugh out loud, and genuinely root for everyone involved. I appreciate how it balances the superhero action with real-life PR madness, making it fresh and super fun. Honestly, it’s the kind of book that stays with you long after you’ve finished it.
And the audiobook version, narrated by Dara Brown and Sean Bassett, takes it to another level. Dara brings this lively energy to the female lead that fits so well, capturing all those quirky and heartfelt moments perfectly. Sean Bassett’s narration adds a great dynamic, giving the male characters a distinct voice that balances the story beautifully. Together, they make the characters feel even more real, and the back-and-forth between them adds extra sparkle to the whole experience. Listening to it felt like hanging out with friends who were just as invested in the wild, fun superhero world as I was.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It was funny and heartfelt. This book is about a superbeing, Roland, needing a rebrand and the marketing genius, Vanessa, that makes it happen. In order to help with his rebrand they start fake dating. While, spending more time together, they both start to realize that maybe the feelings are becoming real. As the relationship develops, so does danger and Vanessa and Roland have to figure out what is really going, not just in their relationship, but the world at large. I read the audiobook with duet narration that was well done. I loved the realistic social anxiety representation in the FMC. My favorite part of the story was Vanessa's, family. I do wish we got more of the overarching plot especially in the beginning. Overall, it was a great book, with extremely lovable characters.

I loved reading this book but listening to it was a whole new experience as well. I loved how the narrators voiced and brought these characters and the story to life. Rollo is such a big growly cinnamon roll that will also be at up anyone that says anything negative or bothers his girl. *Swoon*.

This was one hell of a good time!!

Our unfriendly neighborhood reluctant hero falls first, hard, and fast for our super-friendly anxious neighborhood PR boss lady. I’d say this is a scifi romance. It was such a nice change of pace from my usual fantasy romance. I love a slow burn enemies to lovers as much as the next person but a morally grey broody antihero alien falling immediately for the heroine and wanting to unalive anyone who hurts her is also nice 🤣. She’s rightfully suspicious of him though so don’t worry. The banter was so entertaining and the family dynamics heart melting. Her brothers had me cackling! So many diverse characters as well. And the spice 🥵. I’d like to also point out that there are some heavy themes explored as well, such as child abuse.

The writing was fantastic, the whole avalanche rescue scene was so cinematic. The fight scenes felt like I was in a movie. And the tender, emotionally vulnerable scenes were written with such delicate care.

The audiobook narration has me hooked, especially the female narrator!

I sometimes struggle with audio books, but the voice actors were great at making the story feel engaging and as if a friend was telling my a spicy, sweet, dramatic story over drinks!!

Elizabeth Stephens is a favorite author of mine. I adore her science fiction romance series, Xiveri Mates. So, I was surprised to find her latest book, All Superheroes Need PR, isn't a sci-fi romance at all, but a romantic comedy! Here are 10 things I loved about this book (in no particular order):

1. Magic Realism and Sci-Fi Adjacent: So, it's not classified as science fiction (technically, there are aliens, so...insert shrug here), but it's definitely sci-fi adjacent with a world where superheroes exist (alien superheroes). The world-building is delightful, and it does a lot to support Vanessa and Roland's story.

2. Enemies to Lovers: One of my favorite tropes, and this version is rife with tension and some angst to boot. Vanessa and Roland get off to a super rocky start because he's an asshole who doesn't know how to express his emotions and she's an anxious wreck. The meet-cute is equally hilarious and horrifying (poor Vanessa!).

3. Representation: The variety of characters is outstanding! Vanessa and Roland are people of color. Vanessa's best friend, Margery, is a trans woman. Her adoptive family is Latinx. The CEO Doctor is lesbian. It would take a whole blog post to list the diverse backgrounds of all these characters. It's lovely and adds richness and depth to the story.

4. Morally Grey Hero: I love a morally grey hero, and Ryland definitely has some issues, which is probably something you DON'T want in an individual with godlike powers, but it sure makes a fun story.

5. Touch Her and Die Vibes: This goes hand-in-hand with #4, but I appreciate when an MMC's knee-jerk reaction to his girl being knocked down and hurt is to melt internal organs. Spoilers - he's talked out of it. But still, the dude's moral compass is definitely skewed.

6. Fire Power and Getting Nekkid: Roland's superpower is fire, which is cool (or not - pun intended). But the poor man keeps burning his clothes off! Is this really a problem? You decide.

7. "I did it for her.": Gah! It's Roland's first hero moment, and he says he did it for Vanessa. Ok, all together now: awwww!

8. The spice is SPICY: I listened to this book in my car, and there were some scenes that I definitely needed to have my windows rolled up for, lest I get shocked and scandalized looks from unsuspecting fellow drivers—also, two words: Yes, Wyvern.

9. Roland's Transformation: I don't want to spoil things, but I will say that Roland undergoes quite the transformation in the end, and I'm definitely here for it.

10. The Audiobook Narrators Rock: I listened to this book, and the narrators are awesome. Dara Brown and Sean Basset do an incredible job of bringing the diverse cast of characters to life, and I really enjoyed both of their performances. Plus, I would listen to Sean Basset read the phone book - he has the most deliciously bass voice.

Overall, I absolutely loved this book, and I can't wait for more in the series. I question its classification as a romantic comedy. Don't get me wrong, it's funny and sweet, and the story definitely has the elements of a romcom. But it's also ticking boxes for science fiction romance and monster romance, too. Regardless, this was a really fun read with a great cast of diverse characters, a delightful sense of humor, and an entertaining story. If you're looking for your next summer read, check out All Superheroes Need PR.

I am sorry to say this book struggled to hold my interest. The info dump of the world building st the start did not help either. I couldn’t incision the world and the characters well. The narrators were decent.

I had to DNF as I found the book not to be fun. The writing was good but I felt disconnected from the world and the book itself.

I already loved aliens, but I'm def in my superhero romance era and I need more immediately.

Previously, I have enjoyed Elizabeth's writing style and this was no different. Fresh off The Bone King and the Starling, I absolutely needed a funny book that I could giggle and kick my feet to. Everything about this book from how they meet to the end was witty and funny and even a bit outlandish. It didn't take itself too seriously while also fleshing out childhood trauma. Not to mention I love it when the man has is bad for the fmc.

I received the eARC and an ALC and listen/read at the same time. Some passages were different from the audio to the ebook, so hopefully that was fixed for the release.
