Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Unfortunately this book wasn’t for me. There were a few errors that I think warrant further editing. In addition the FMC Lilah makes so many poor choices, including “seducing” a friend she just made to steal. I found it really hard to accept her choices as realistic or the attraction from the MMC. I was curious about the curse and the queens power but I think more world building and development of the characters was needed.

Enemies-to-lovers? Deadly fae courts? A girl who won’t go down without a fight? Yes, yes, and YES.
A Court of Blood and Sacrifice is perfect for fans of ACOTAR and From Blood and Ash. There’s action, angst, tension you could cut with a knife, and a fae male who’s all sharp edges and secrets. The world is rich and dangerous, and the romance is a slow burn with a serious bite.

Some pacing dips here and there, but I was hooked from the first chapter. Give me morally gray chaos and reluctant alliances any day.

Thank you NetGalley for this opportunity to read this arc.

I did DNF this book but it’s no fault to the author. It’s a great story and decently written, I just had a hard time connecting with the story. I will definitely come back and try reading it again.

Thank you Netgalley for sending me this story!
This romantasy started off with a bang and had me hooked! Lilah's father was killed by a band of vampires when she was 12, leaving her with a strong desire to one day find the vampires and kill them.

She is adopted-ish by a farmer, and while being raised, she trains to become a huntress in the Queen's elite Sunfire Court guard. In true fashion, she becomes a badass and is selected as the first female to join in the guard. She has a close ally named Ryker who is a semi-love interest, but we only get a small glimpse of their connection as the rest of the book Lilah is in the "dark lands" upon capture by a mysterious vampire and must find her way back to her own lands. However, the vampire holds her captive, and every time she escapes, he is able to find her. He annoys her and frustrates her but also tends to protect her when other vampires arrive on the scene to harm her and kidnap her. She begins to question if he is the bad guy or if the others are and what their ultimate motive is in capturing her.

The middle of the book slows down and is interesting but tends to become a bit repetitive.

The story picks up again at around 86% where questions start to become answered, and the plot moves forward to set the reader up for book 2.

I was really excited to read A Court of Blood and Sacrifice. The premise sounded exactly like something I would enjoy, especially since I was in the mood for a vampire fantasy. The gorgeous cover instantly caught my eye and made me even more curious to dive in.

While I absolutely love the idea behind the story, I found it hard to fully connect with the writing style. It felt a bit surface-level for me, and from the very beginning(including the prologue and early chapters) I noticed a few plot elements that didn’t quite add up. That made it difficult to stay immersed in the world.

That said, I truly appreciate the creativity behind this story and the effort that went into building this universe. I think it has great potential and will definitely find its audience.t just wasn’t the right fit for me personally.

Beautiful cover. The book was decent enough. I would have loved to have a bit more from it over all but it was enjoyable.

I have to admit, the cover is what initially drew me into this book. That said, it was a decent dark romantasy and I look forward to continuing Mal Blackburn's story in the next book.

This book was okay. I love the cover and I was looking forward to reading it but the book felt flat and the world needed more building.

Thank you to NetGalley for giving this ARC, and this doesn’t influence my review. Unfortunately, I had to DNF. The writing style didn’t draw me in.

While I enjoyed this book, I do think I need more character development and world building. It had the bones to be great. Thank you for the opportunity to be an ARC reader for this book.

The plot of the book was good.

I would have liked to see more character development, especially with the relationship between the main characters.

Overall it was enjoyable.

📌 Thank you, Netgalley, for such a good beauty.
📌Let me tell you this, it feels soo good to start the month on such a positive note. This book wasn't perfectly written(I KNOW), but it was soo comforting to read. I was on my toes the entire time and was flipping like crazy. And the cherry on the cake, he calls her "LITTLE FLOWER"

KAY MARRIE needs to give me the second book asap. I can't sleep because of your cliffhanger.

I would like to begin by expressing my gratitude to NetGalley and the author for providing the ARC. I truly wished I could have enjoyed this story, but unfortunately, it didn’t resonate with me. The entire concept was fascinating, and the inclusion of vampires, dark forests, and mystical creatures was a brilliant addition to the narrative. However, that’s where my appreciation ended.
I found myself struggling to finish the book, resisting the urge to mark it as a DNF, so I could offer an honest review. The story felt overly repetitive and often lacked depth, which made it difficult for me to connect. I didn't feel a genuine chemistry between Lilah and Nyx; their relationship seemed to revolve around moments of passion that felt out of place. Additionally, their transformation from being powerful figures in one scene to going back to weak characters within a single sentence was confusing. Could the character development not have advanced instead of being lateral?
Once again, the beginning of the book and the initial concept held great promise. Thank you for the opportunity to read this in advance.

I wanted to rate this book higher. The plot has a lot of potential, but unfortunately, I wasn't sold on the execution. The first few chapters had me intrigued, but then the story began to feel somewhat redundant. Once the story progresses into the Dark Lands, it felt like the same sort of obstacles and conflicts that the protagonists faced, also just kept repeating. I found the character development to be inconsistent and the plot contradictory at points. The story itself is well-written and does have redeeming moments, but overall, I struggled to get past the shortcomings.

This dark romance pulled me in from the first page and didn’t let go. The tension between the characters is electric—raw, intense, and beautifully complicated.

I have been in the supernatural mood lately and I thought that this would scratch that. It did.....and it didn't. This had some really great parts but also some not so great ones. I truly should have dnf'd the book but I'm too nosey and needed to see it through.
