Spoops: The Little Spirits of Halloween is a charming celebration of all things autumn and Halloween. A.J. LoCascio and Laurie A. Conley bring the season to life with adorable characters and beautifully atmospheric artwork that feels like stepping into a crisp October evening. From falling leaves to flickering jack - o’-lanterns, every page is filled with cozy, spooky magic. Perfect for anyone who looks forward to Halloween all year long!

this was the cutest freaking ARC i’ve ever read!!! i’ve been obsessed with halloween ever since i was a little girl, and i’ve always loved it a lot more than the rest of my family. reading this children’s book healed my inner-child and i’ll definitely be pre-ordering a copy for when i have my own kids one day. also, the illustrations were beautiful!!

This is the perfect book for all Halloween lovers in the world. It is our story, the ones who patiently wait for spooky season all year. Especially for our protagonist Holly Hollowell, who’s parents don’t believe in celebrating Halloween. Holly tries everything to convince them, as she sits in her bedroom she makes a wish to the crisp fall air and something magical is bound to happen.
I loved everything about this story, from the premise to the vintage looking illustrations. I’ll absolutely will be reading this every spooky season for years to come.

Absolutely magical! This book was so adorable and captures the Halloween spirit perfectly! The story, the illustrations, it really make you want your own spoop!

This is a very cute Halloween book that is sure to be loved by many every year on Halloween!
I adored the rhymes and the cute little tale about Holly with dentist parents who won’t let her celebrate Halloween. My only note would be that I thought the story would focus more on the Spoops themselves, but it definitely centers more on Holly. But other than that I still feel like this book will be adored by many children and parents who are looking for a Halloween read for their children. The illustrations made this book feel like a classic old tale, which I’m sure this is going to become for many. I would definitely recommend this for families.

I adored this book!! The rhymes and story were spot on and the illustrations were precious!
Holly's dentist parents won't let her celebrate Halloween and when they leave the house on that day, the adorable Spoops fly into her life. They decorate the house with pumpkins and orange and black, and send some happy spirits to dance with her parents as they return. (Now I want to be visited by Spoops and live in that fall-loving town.)
As an October baby with 2 October sons and 2 October grandchildren, I plan to get copies of this book to share with not only my October babies, but all the rest too. 🎃🎃🎃

A sweet illustrated poem appropriate for elementary age children about a child who loves Halloween despite her dentist parents severe disapproval.

This is so CUTE¡
one of the best graphic novels I've ever read period. I adore the art and color palette and how cute all the little spoops are. This story is so creative and fun. I love how it's written like old children's books in a poetic way. The rhyming makes it all the more magical.
The Story line is sweet and charming. I'll be highly renowned this to everyone! And buying a copy fire myself.
It's like a christmas Carol got a Halloween twist. Great for fans of Halloween Town and Very Scary Godmother.

This book totally captured the cozy Halloween vibe! It’s ideal for middle grade readers looking for a light spooky story. I’d read it again in a heartbeat and think it’d make a perfect fall gift.

This was so sweet! The story is fun and the flowing rhyme scheme of the narrative make a really fun read. The illustrations are also incredible. Loved this one!

When this time of the year comes around, I start craving Halloween vibes and spooky stories. But I also love cute carachters, so this little book was absolute perfection! I loved the story of young Holly, who is in love with Halloween but not understood or encouraged by her parents (dentists who hate Halloween). The story is really heartwarming and I loved the message about feeling different and finding your crowd during Halloween. I still feel the same as an adult! I think it would make a great story for kids to read in school. I loved the art and especially all the different little Spoops as they are possibly the most adorable thing I have ever seen. Totally recommended if you need to get in the right mood for Halloween with a cute and cozy story.

What a delight picture book! The illustrations are lovely and are so nostalgic.
Where a lot of Halloween books have fantasy main characters, like ghosts, pumpkins, and skeletons, I like that this book features a more real-world story.
Perfect for the reader that loves all things Halloween.

I truly loved this. I thought it was just so cute all around -- the illustrations were adorable and the writing was cute and playful. Reading this made me smile throughout. I think kids and adults will love this. I want a little figure of a spoop!

Spoops is a wonderful and fun Halloween story, with beautiful illustrations that have me feeling nostalgic. Holly loves Halloween, but her parents are both dentists, so they think it is a horrid holiday that does nothing but give kids cavities. Holly wishes for a way to make her parents see that Halloween is about way more than that. The adorable Spoops help her find a way to make her parents see her side after they have plenty of adorable Halloween fun with Holly.

The illustrations were so good, it felt very nostalgic.
I wasn’t too crazy about this book and the parents just kind of annoyed me. I loved that the little girl was so passionate about Halloween despite her parents.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.

Well what can I say? I'm a huge fan of Halloween and I just could not let this book get away from me!
If you have seen the movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and you wanted a happy end for Willy Wonkas childhood with his desntist father then this book is for you and/or your kids!
I loved every second of this and the spoops were so cute!
Also the drawings on this were AMAZING! Really good job giving the eerie, spooky and cozy vibe you seek in these books!
"𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐉𝐚𝐜𝐤-𝐨'-𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐬,
𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐮𝐩𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭,
𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐦 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐲,
𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐦𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭."

This was adorable! The art is honestly so cute it hurts. The story is good but a little lengthy. I still think this is a great read for kids during Halloween season.

I really wanted to love this book. The premise is perfect and the illustrations are lovely (hence the 3 stars). However, I felt that it was a little to long and the rhymes a little too contrived for my students to love. I want more Halloween themed options for them, but I'm not sure if this one is it.

This book was super cute! It gave Night Before Christmas vibes with the rhyming and story and the artwork is reminiscent of vintage Halloween cards and decorations. It made me excited for the holiday and the spoops were adorable! I also loved that the parents in the book were wrong, admitted it to their child and learned from it. Very refreshing!

“Spoops” is a very sweet graphic novel for a younger audience about a little girl, Holly, who loves Halloween. Unfortunately for Holly, her parents are against Halloween, so she never got the chance to experience the magic.
It will captivate the younger readers out there, as the drawings are super sweet. Holly eventually found common ground with her parents 💛 The color scheme is just amazing, in an all black and white expect for the Halloween orange that manages to deliver the vibes of the season in a perfect way.
