Sorry net galley I really struggled with thus book
Madeline’s husband Tyler was what you call controlling, freak.
Their daughter Charlie was struggling with the arguments in the family.
On the day of Charlie’s birtday party a body was found outside their house and from then everything fell apart.
Did Tyler kill hum, and then there maid Sadie was murdered
sorry I just found it a very difficult read.

Madeline and Tyler are throwing a party. A dead body is found on their lawn. The first chapter was good but I then found it a bit flat and too fast paced to really understand.
The characters were, well characterless and unlikeable. Not one for me I’m afraid.

I read this through a digital ARC. It was a bit slow to get going, but once it picked up, it turned into a decent “who did it” kind of story. I wouldn’t say I was blown away, but it kept me interested enough to finish. None of the characters were particularly likable or easy to root for—but that actually worked in the story’s favor, since it kept everyone feeling like a possible suspect. It was a quick, easy read overall. I did figure out the ending pretty early on—once the daughter’s diary came up, it felt pretty clear where things were headed—but it was still an enjoyable ride.

Perfectly paced and full of twists I couldn't put it down and it kept me guessing all the way through. It was gripping and I finished it in a couple of hours

I loved it! So many twists and turns! You can’t trust anyone, and that’s what makes it so entertaining! THE DRAMA!! SO GOOD! I can’t wait to read more of this author, honestly. The epilogue was soooo good as well!!!

A thriller that asks you to suspend disbelief but forgets to give you a reason to care. Unfortunately, this one didn’t land for me. While the premise promised a gripping psychological drama, family secrets, a suspicious death, and a polished façade cracking under pressure, the execution lacked both credibility and emotional depth.

The characters were uniformly flat or bizarrely drawn. I don’t mind an unlikeable cast, but here, the issue wasn’t that they were flawed it was that they never felt fully real. Dialogue was heavy with exposition and often unnatural, with scenes that seemed designed more to push the plot along than to reflect how real people behave, especially in crisis.

Madeline, a therapist unable to show even the faintest hint of introspection, and Tyler, whose decision-making bordered on absurd, made it difficult to invest in the stakes. And while the rotating perspectives had potential, they only added to the disjointed feel of the narrative. Key emotional beats moments that should have shocked or moved were undermined by implausibility.

There was one solid twist near the end, but by that point, I was too detached to care. I finished it quickly, not because I was gripped, but because I was eager to move on.

I appreciate the ARC and the opportunity to read early, but this one missed the mark for me.

This is my first thriller ever and I’m sad to say that I’m disappointed . I didn’t enjoy it one bit, it felt forced and unrealistic . The characters weren’t lovable, and I get that they’re not supposed to be, but to be honest I didn’t care what happened to any of them .

Madeline was a therapist that couldn’t even help herself . Tyler found out that the person his wife was accused of murdering was alive and faked her dead, and instead of going to the authorities he got in bed with her . At the end it kind of feels like there is going to be a sequel, I’m afraid to admit that I wont be reading it .

A quick whodunnit with despicable characters, rotating POVs and a pretty good twist ending.

We start at Madeline and Tyler’s lavish upper east side townhouse for their daughter, Charlie’s 14th birthday. Tyler’s still at work, Madeline is annoyed, she’s not familiar with her daughter’s friends’ parents, her housekeeper is rude, her in-laws are stuffy, and her only ally is her best friend, Rose. Then a dead body appears in their backyard.

I wish I could say I finished this one within 24hrs because it was so good, but it was simply a fast read and I have so many other books on deck I’m excited to get to. The dialogue was unnatural and included too much exposition early on. It’s a book, give us exposition, don’t make the mother-in-law appear and give a long monologue only to have everyone else respond in monologue exposition. So unnecessary. I also could have done without the daughter’s journal entries that sounded like haikus, and anyone who has watched a cop show knows that a detective doesn’t answer a 911 destress call to only appear and head straight for the couch to chat without checking the place for intruders. So yes, I had a few issues.

Overall, it was fine, and I hope a lot of this is cleaned up for the final version before release.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Fast-paced thriller, but one-dimensional characters. It was difficult to really dive in and invest in any of the characters.

This was a really good read! It was hard to put down and every time I thought I had the plot figured out, I was wrong. I love a good book that keeps me guessing and I love when the end wasn’t what I thought it would be! I definitely look forward to reading more from this author!

Great for mystery and thriller lovers!

Firstly, I’m very thankful for the opportunity to read this book and review it honestly.

Things I liked:

> the multiple perspectives, its interesting and adds a compelling aspect to the story.
> The first chapter

Things I didn’t like:

> the characters, I don’t mind unlikeable characters but these characters didn’t click with me at all, I felt like they were more one dimensional than not, and the dialogue didn’t always fit,

> The pacing, I’m normally a huge fan of fast paced thrillers but this book sometimes felt like whip lash and I felt lost and also like the gravity of some of the more shocking moments weren’t given room to breathe.

I am very thankful to have been allowed to read this book but it wasn’t for me personally.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a solid psychological thriller with some good twists and turns. This book kept my attention the entire time and kept me guessing. I really liked the storyline and the fact I couldn’t really trust anyone. Another thing I really liked was that it had the perspective of multiple characters. Definitely worth the read!

Madeline and Tyler are throwing their daughter Charlie a 14th birthday party at their home. The party was going along beautifully. Everybody seem to be having fun except Tyler was at home. He was still at work, but Madeline refused to ruin Charlie special day. Then justice the party was really getting going, there was a disturbance out in the backyard. Madeline and Rose who is her best friend find a dead body. Who is this person? What is he doing at Charlie’s birthday party? It wasn’t until they identified the man’s body that Madeline or should I call her Evelyn Was starting to get worried. Was her past catching up to her? Will she be able to keep ahead of this especially when she sees Tyler finally getting home and he doesn’t seem like he’s in any great shape.

Police try to figure out what went on there. We find many twists along the way. These people who they say they are what is everybody hiding? Why is Charlie so upset? How does Sadie fit into all of this? Well, these questions can be answered when you read this thriller and hope that your questions were all be answered. I love the twist and turns in this book. I thought I figured out the answer to the questions and I found out I was wrong. You find out that people are who they really are and there are people you really shouldn’t trust and how some people just pop up at the wrong time.

I enjoyed the characters of Maddie/Emlyn because she was really complex and you really never knew what she was going to do next. You know she loved her daughter and would do anything for her. With Tyler being so unstable will Madeline be able to hold it all together and get out of this whole situation without being thrown in jail? The writing was superb. It kept me guessing the whole time. I just truly enjoyed it, and I would recommend this to anybody who likes a real thriller.

Thank you NetGalley and Storm publishing for the advanced copy. I also would like to thank Miss Pucci for a very suspenseful and thrilling book. 4.5 stars.

First, thank you Netgalley and Storm Publishing for this ARC!

A dead body at a party always does sort of ruin the fun, doesn't it? But that is exactly what is happening in tis book during the birthday party Tyler and Madeline are holding for her daughter.

The different POV's were a bit of a challenge again, but it was a good story with just the right pacing and twists and turns until the end, filled with a lot of chilling family secrets. Very recommended!

This is my first book by this author and I actually really enjoyed it. It had the perfect whodunnit feel to it that I really enjoy.

Here we have Madeline and Tyler the parents who are really excited about their 14 year old daughter Charlie’s birthday but things don’t go as planned when a dead body show up on their doorstep. No one knows what happened and how it happened. Madeline and Tyler both have things they don’t wanna reveal anything and they are not what they seem like.

When the investigation keeps them on their toes Madeline will do anything to hold her family together. It has lots of twist and turns and lots of drama that I liked. Highly recommend.

Thank you NetGalley and Storm Publishing for kindly providing me with this eARC.

This starts off with a bang, with a dead body at a party, but I found it slow going at first. There are a lot of characters to meet and you start out in the dark, plot-wise. But once it got going, it was addictive! The short chapters and rotating POVs made it perfect for picking up in free moments and the “just one more” feeling kept me turning pages. It was a great book to carry around and sneak more chapters every chance I got. I couldn’t wait to find out what happened.

This family seems perfect from the outside but on the inside, it's far from perfect. While Who Did I Marry by Sara Pucci has an intriguing premise, the unlikable characters made it difficult to get emotionally invested in the story. The plot had potential, but without someone to root for, it fell a bit flat for me. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this advance copy in exchange for my honest review.
