📚BOOK REVIEW & COMING SOON 📚

Owen - @vhnicolsonauthor

"I like you first the way you are"

"The love between you two is exquisite"

"You're my everything"

I have now come to the end of the Castleview Cove series with the last of the boys being Owen.

I have to be honest and say that I was a little nervous going into this book because Owen does not come across well in the previous books, Lincoln and especially in Jacob. But I'm always in good hands with @vhnicolsonauthor and she is a master of her craft because within a few chapters I was in love with Owen which only grew as the book went on.

Without giving away spoilers, everything that you think you know about Owen is not true and he more than redeems himself in this story. He runs away from a marriage that his parents are trying to force him into and whilst on the run to Cyprus he meets Jade, the hotshot military pilot. From the moment he meets her he's a goner but not just for her, also for her little girl, Poppy.

Owen is dealing with a lot and we find out why he is the way he is. Jade was the perfect partner to give him his confidence back. She was great and I loved reading about the military parts of the book. We also learnt that Owen isn't the selfish guy we once thought he was and Jade sees him for him which allows him to be vulnerable with her. And when he stands up for Jade and Poppy in certain situations, you're gonna need a fan because it is mighty hot how he protects what will become his.

This beautiful story of learning to forgive yourself for past mistakes, learning to love yourself and then finding pure happiness was a great read. The personal growth was done so well and it was fantastic seeing Owen get his happily ever after. It completed the series perfectly and confirmed that these three guys have a firm place in my heart. I also liked how we got Lincoln, Jacob and Owen together in part of the book and we got their friendship shining through also. It's sad saying goodbye to Castleview Cove but I know I will revisit these characters again and again. I already have with Lincoln and Jacob. So Owen will be no different.

I was born into privilege. I had it all; the house, the car, more money than I knew what to do with. But it came at a price. Expectation. An arranged marriage to a woman who couldn’t bear to look at me to grow the family empire. As I stood at the altar, the weight of that burden became too much. So, I did the only thing I could. I ran. To another country and straight into the arms of another woman.
Jade is strong, independent, and a single mom.
And I’m just a homeless, jobless man with no idea what I want for my future. All I do know is, the more time I’m around her, the more I realize who I want to be. Let's hope my past never catches up with me. Because the weight of my family’s expectation is likely to cause me to crash land and send my world up in flames.

Wow... I went into this book with a little sadness because I knew it was the last we were going to see from our Castleview Cove characters. As always, I'm astounded at the author's ability to write such a gripping story. Owen gave me such bittersweet feelings, and now I don't know how to cope, now that it's over.😭🤣❤️
I love how Jade is such a daredevil and lives her life in the "fast lane." She's not afraid of taking chances and being alpha... IYKYK!👀🥵
Owen isn't your traditional alphahole MMC. He's not afraid to wear his emotions, express his needs, and even be scared from time to time. He's more cautious, and I love how Jade and Poppy are able to bring out a side of him that we haven't seen before!
Poppy and Owen STEAL the book with how cute they are! All of Owen's little nicknames for her made me swoon and want to witness them in real life!❤️😍

While I'm sad to see them go, I'm super happy with the direction the author is taking! Thank you so much for the ARC copy, Vicki.

Owen is a runaway groom who is trying to start his life over away from his weathly family. He goes on vaction and meets Jade, a single mom. Jade is pilot who isnt looking for love. Owen and jade fall for each other fast. They fast some setups along the way but their bond always stays strong.

While Owen by V.H. Nicolson starts with promise- a fast-burn romance and a briskly paced storyline-it ultimately feels more rushed than riveting. The chemistry between the leads sparks quickly, which I appreciated and will appeal to fans of instant connection, but the whirlwind development leaves little room for emotional depth or believable growth.

Character arcs do evolve positively for most of the characters, but in a way that feels a bit too convenient. The personal growth after unfortunate failed relationships, including an engagement prior to the main characters meeting, happens so rapidly that it feels unearned, skipping over the internal struggle that makes change feel real. The theme of found family is a highlight and offers heart, especially in contrast to the mmc's controlling, overbearing relatives. Still, even these dynamics are resolved so swiftly in a plot twist of events that did have me gasping and engaged me more, the swift turn of events was welcome but felt forced.

Overall, Owen is a solid quick read if readers are looking for fast burn and intsa-family stories. But personally, would have loved more time with these characters to give them the love and attention they desire.
