This is a distinctive book about animals which is equal parts humorous and informative.
Imagine Martians represented in imaginative artwork experiencing a visit to a museum with animals and think about what could go wrong.
With a witty narrative, this was an engaging and worthy read.

The Martian Museum of Earth Animals is a wondrous exploration of the earth’s living creature through the eyes of two of two young aliens - Lola and Flarp- who spend the night in a museum.
With their snoozle bags, torches and torches ready, the two young explorers head out into the museum’s rooms overnight.
Each room explores different creatures- amphibians, reptiles, mammals, fish etc - full of humour and facts, Jules Howard’s text is pitch perfect for young readers, naturalists and fact finders- age 4-7 or a book to share at bedtime or use in a key stage one class.
Matt Hunt’s illustrations are brilliant- full of humour and totally engaging for enquiring minds - so much to talk about and hunt for through the pages.
A perfect companion / complementary text for a class topic or a great book for a writing opportunities. But most of all a factfile of delights for the curious young and old.

This is such a novel idea and a very fun way to introduce a fiction/ non-fiction blend to younger audiences! Just the idea of a Martian guides to Earth animals is enough to intrigue and delight many a reader and I have to admit, I was intrigue and excited to get stuck in myself!
It’s a visual delight also, with some great illustrations in a unique style- Matt Hunt, the illustrator, did a fab job on this.
It’s short, snappy and perfectly written for its target audience. It would be a great read aloud parent book to their child or a joint read with its simplistic language and informative but humour-filled nature. From learning the basics of animal structure, invertebrates, reptiles, fish and mammals, we following our two Martian main characters as they explore the earth animal museum. I’ll say it again - what a fun book!
