In Another Fine Mess we follow the remaining two Evans women a month after the Godawful Mess that rocked the town and their family. As the moon once again rises full another beast is out on the hunt killing off residents of their small Southeast Texas town both human and animal alike.... but Strigoi, the original vampires, dont kill animals. Now Lenore, Luna and the newly crowned sheriff must dig into the family’s past to unearth what is out there hungry and waiting.
Now usually I would start off my reviews by giving thanks for the opportunity to read and review an arc such as this especially considering this one was given to me because of how much I loved the original book. However considering the amount of grief I am experiencing right now fresh from finishing Another Fine Mess and wiping the tears from my eyes, I am finding it difficult to be thankful. Regardless of the sheer amount of contempt i feel right now, once again thank you to the sick and twisted team at Solaris for the opportunity to read and review Another Fine Mess and please expect a bill in your inbox out to my therapist.
Another Fine Mess as a sequel was a great and gruesome follow up to Bless Your Heart one that literally gave me heart palpitations (shout out chapter 29 for that!) And once again brought me to tears over the Evans family. I truly enjoyed reading it and uncovering even more mysteries into the history of the family itself and the beast that was tearing apart the town. Nothing brought more fear than seeing chapters from the point of view of characters outside of the family, the sheer amount of dread it invoked was incredible. Lindy Ryans ability to make me glad I was reading on an empty stomach is one yet to be beat.

The perfect sequel!
I fell in love with the Evans family in BLESS YOUR HEART, and this was the best continuation of their story.
Ideal for fans of Charlaine Harris. Small town horror with heart.
I'd officially like to set up a petition for 'feel good horror' to be an official genre, with BLESS YOUR HEART & ANOTHER FINE MESS leading the charge.
Thoughtfully crafted characters, a storyline that keeps you HOOKED, and THE DOG IS OKAY!

Another Fine Mess is a horror novel that combines mystery, humor, and heart. It follows the Evans women, who have kept the undead from rising in their southeast Texas town for over a century. However, the dead sometimes rise too quickly. In Another Fine Mess, Lenore Evans, Luna, and the new sheriff must uncover what threatens everything they love.
I enjoyed this book! Thankyou for allowing me to read & review it!

I read an eARC of this book on NetGalley so thank you to the author and the publisher.
This is the second book in a series and I would recommend them in order to understand the characters better. I think the second book is even better than the first (though they are both good). But I do feel I benefitted from reading them in order and quite close together. This book is set in Texas in the 1990s and there’s a deep affection here for the witchy, vampire and monster stories coming out in that era. We follow the Evans women who are tasked with protecting the town from the risen dead. They are a mix of vampires (or strigoi as they’re known here) and zombies and are known as ghouls. They are ravenous, usually devoid of humanity, and if not taken care of by the Evans women, will cause death and destruction to the community. This book takes place a month after the first book and we see the Evans women dealing with the aftermath of book one whilst also seeing the rumblings of a new threat.
This book is fast paced, multi POV, full of action and gore. It plays out quite cinematically and things escalate quite quickly making for an exciting read. It’s also about community and family and respect for your ancestors. This was a fun read and I can definitely recommend it.

A return to the south and the Evans women’s funeral parlour. They’ve kept the town safe from the undead for over 100 years, but things are about to become a whole lot messier in the second instalment of this story.
Utterly hilarious, insanely gory, and full of headstrong women. I love the characters in this book and their fierce female strength. This is definitely one of my stories and even though this hasn’t been released yet, I can’t wait for what’s next!

Another rip-roaring, dead awakening, kick a** romp through small town Texas. Another fine mess leaves us with many secrets still yet to uncover.
For me, the pacing on this one didn't quite match up to the first book - Bless your heart - and I was left wanting answers to a fair chunk of the book. Until I got to the end and realised Lindy Ryan had done this to me on purpose. (Sneaky sneaky)
No one is safe in this book, and my heart soared for some beloved characters and broke just as much for others.
I NEED answers, and I NEED the next book.
Thank you to the publisher for allowing me to read an advance copy of this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Lindy Ryan's new novel continues the story of the Evans women who have kept the undead in their Texas town from rising. After the events of "Bless Your Heart" the only two women left in the Evans family, Luna and Lenore are feeling more than just a sense of loss. As another victim is found, it is down to these two and the sheriff to investigate the family history and events from the recent and far past. This is in hope to figure out the mystery behind the undead and any other monsters that may be lurking.
I remember enjoying the first book in this series and couldn't wait for this second instalment. This was also fun and thrilling, it looked into how the Evans cope with horrors they thought they had dealt with previously while navigating how they will move forward.
There were many mysterious and emotional moments throughout that touch on how the family dynamic has changed and how prior events have shaped the way they are perceived by others in this town.
I liked the direction the story took and once again flew through this one.

I missed so much reading about the Evans family, and this second book felt as meeting friends after a long time. There's something about Lindy Ryan's way of describing unnatural things and scary scenes that get me hooked to the book up until the end. I really enjoyed "Bless your heart", but "Another fine mess" was just as good. I feel really honored to be able to read this second one, thank you so much NetGalley and Rebellion!

I loved the Evans family in the first book, and I love the sadly smaller family just as much in this second book. I think what I love most is the direct way in which the author presents the lives and emotions of the characters. I love the writing style, and the way something so unnatural is presented as everyday. I love the portrayal of family, love, and sacrifice. An excellent book and I feel very fortunate to have had advanced access. Thank you NetGalley and the publishers.

The book is dark, unsettling and intriguing. In the town of Southeast Texas, unthinkable happenings are usual yet when dead people start rising, it creates havoc as it has brought community members lives at stake and some people are simply vanishing. Luna and her grandmother are the only alive women in family. Evans family has the local funeral business in town. But when the unthinkable begins to happen, secrets and buried truth comes out. The another mystery that consumed town is there are so many kinds of monsters and until the Sheriff will not solve that mystery, town people can’t be saved from the danger that is lurking on them. The book was so terrifying and unsettling. This one kept me on edge and kept me guessing till the end. The twists and turns were unpredictable.
Thanks to the Publisher and Author
