Told through the alternating perspectives of Evelyn, Derek, and Josie, this gripping novel pulls readers into a suspenseful web of secrets, doubt, and deception. The shifting viewpoints add richness and momentum to the story, keeping the narrative dynamic and readers constantly engaged. Evelyn emerges as a smart, confident woman whose fierce loyalty is tested as unsettling truths come to light—her unwavering support for her husband, even in the face of mounting suspicion, is both admirable and and at times baffling.
Derek, though a more minor character, leaves a distinct impression—albeit a slightly frustrating one—while Josie perfectly captures the familiar, nosy neighbor archetype we all recognize (and might prefer to avoid). The author skillfully brings each character to life with clear, consistent motivations and memorable quirks.
The novel is fast-paced and packed with tension, unveiling dark secrets at every turn. However, its ambition becomes a double-edged sword. As the plot unfolds, an influx of side characters and subplots begins to cloud the central mystery. While the complexity adds depth, it can at times feel overly tangled, making it difficult to track the many layers of deception at play.
Overall, this is a compelling, twist-filled read that delivers on suspense, even if its intricacy occasionally overwhelms. It is still a solid 4 read!

A quick, easy and fast paced read that kept me engaged all the way through and guessing until the very end. I didn't know what to believe or who to trust. I loved it

there is a joyous premise of books at the moment. where many feature characters who we are led to mistrust. so we are questioning everything and everyone. these mistrust sometimes include ourselves and even the author! just whos narrative is trust-able here? this book certainly does that especially given the points of views we are given.
the book brings us a family who have moved for fresh start. Evelyn and Derek are trying to rebuild their lives. arent they? because a body turns up and its once again lending questions Derek's ways. and Evelyn is left with so many uncertainty's and questions who she can trust all over again.
because there is death. a death close to Derek. can this really be happening again. can he really be believed this time or again? because Evelyn now doubts everything and is beginning to think she holds the keys to just whats been going on.
i was wanting to shake Evelyn at times. like, how was she even still with him!? which led me to think was more to this to unfold from all sides.
we also have the addition of Josie. whos voice in this book also adds more weight to what we as a reader are assuming.
this book is brilliantly paced and leaves us with that delicious sense of suspicion and tension throughout. loved it.
there is way more thriller joy to come from this book dear readers. but im not about to spoil your little gasps as it unfolds.

This is one of those stories about how a wife knows that her husband is less than perfect, but really doesn't know just how complicated things are below the surface of their married life.
I know that a lot of readers liked this story, and I am sure that they had their reasons, but this was just not for me. It was farfetched - which can of course be an occupational hazard with thrillers - and it was hard to care about the characters, who seemed to consist of stereotypes.

Derek has now been closely connected with two different women who were murdered. He insists that he had nothing to do with it but Evelyn doesn't know who to believe. When she starts to get to know people in her new neighborhood, things just get even more complicated. Who do you believe? Who is REALLY responsible for the murders?
He's Lying About Everything was a pretty fast paced, easy read. It was told in multiple POV's and there were a handful of "side" characters, but it was never hard to keep track of anybody or anything that was going on. The author did a great job in getting you to constantly second guess who you thought was telling the truth! I was flip flopping the whole time about what I thought was happening and in the end, I was WAY off! The end is where it lost just a bit for me, unfortunately. It all seemed to happen really quickly and while I was surprised by the twist, I wish it would have been just a bit more fleshed out at the end.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

I absolutely adore books that plunge headfirst into a sea of mistrust, leaving me suspicious of every character introduced. It’s like a literary game of “who can I trust?”—and I’m here for it!
A woman, married for eight years with a seemingly perfect life in Connecticut, faces a shocking turn of events when the police arrive at her door after a girl is found dead in a university pool. Despite her husband's infidelity, she tries to move on, but the girl's death complicates things. As detectives investigate, she grapples with the terrifying possibility that her husband could be a murderer—and that she may hold the key to uncovering the truth.
In this gripping tale, we’re treated to multiple perspectives: Evelyn, Derek, and Josie. This kaleidoscope of viewpoints not only enriches the narrative but also keeps the story flowing smoothly, ensuring we’re always on our toes. Evelyn is a smart, confident woman, deeply in love with her husband—until doubt creeps in, fueled by the circumstances surrounding her. I mean, can you believe she stands by him after everything that unfolds? Talk about loyalty!
Derek, on the other hand, is a minor character who’s just a tad irritating, while Josie embodies that quintessential neighbor we all know (and maybe wish we didn’t). The author does a fantastic job of bringing these diverse characters to life, making it easy to keep track of their quirks and motivations.
This fast-paced read is brimming with dark secrets, deceit, and an ending that caught me completely off guard. I certainly didn’t see that twist coming! I was secretly hoping for a happy ending, but honestly, I couldn’t envision a conclusion that would have stirred up more drama. The ending we got was clean and suspenseful, and I was quite satisfied with it. Bravo!
I thoroughly enjoyed this rollercoaster ride of a book and felt privileged to be part of it. If you’re looking for a quick read to reignite your passion for literature, this one will do the trick in just an afternoon. Happy reading, and may the literary odds be ever in your favor!
Thank you, Joffe Books, for the digital ARC copy. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Evelyn hopes the move to a new town will change everything and help to repair her troubled marriage. Derek was given the opportunity to retire from the college where he previously taught after one of his students, a young woman he had an affair with, drowned under mysterious circumstances, Derek swore his innocence and there was not enough evidence to convict him. But now, in their new college town, a beautiful professor is found stabbed to death in Derek’s office. His past is no longer a secret from the townspeople, he is investigated again and Evelyn, who suspects another affair, feels ostracized. She makes one new friend, Summer, a teacher at her son’s school. Together, they hope to unravel the situation that Derek has once again brought to his family.
There are so many lies and secrets in He’s Lying about Everything that its hard to tell when someone is telling the truth. I really liked this psychological thriller until the final pages. Without spoilers, I thought the conclusion was not at all believable and could not possibly happen in real life. Evelyn went from being a confident former lawyer to participating, without doubts, in ill-conceived events. 3 stars.
Thank you to NetGalley, Joffe Books and Robin Mahle for this ARC.

Evelyn has forgiven and forgotten her husband Derek's affair, not just because his lover ended up dead. Nicole was a star swimmer... and Derek's student, so he was let go of his job.
The couple move to another town after Derek finds a new job. They rebuild their trust in each other, and Evenlyn is so happy her life is back to normal. She has even made a new friend in their neighbour, Josie. And then, one day, the body of another student is found...
Is Derek a murderer? can Evenlyn save her marriage and... life?
Told from the POVs of Evelyn, Derek, and Josie, He's Lying About Everything hooked me in from the beginning!
The narrative is well written, and visual, with beautiful imaginery of Connecticut as the background.
The characters are complex and well written. Even the villian will make you reconsider your initial thoughts when you learn what went through thier mind to justify their actions. Derek was awful, and Evelyn was frustrating! Forgive and forget an affair? tale as old as time... maybe this is why this book is so good, it reminds you that love really is blind.
Be prepared to feel tension, suspense, and complex emotions when you read it!

I have read several books by this author and enjoyed them. This one was really good. Interesting plot, fast-paced and really good character development. I look forward to reading more books by her.

Thank you Joffe Books and NetGalley for an early copy of He’s Lying About Everything. Wow that cover drew me right in!!! Great read, loved the plot and characters. Nice twist at the end, well two of them really and both were great. Fast read. Everyone deserved what happened, super ending! Thank you again.

Buckle up for this one psychological thriller fans!! He's Lying About Everything will have you zigging when you should be zagging and zagging when you should be zigging! This was one amazing. twisty ride.
Evelyn, her narcissistic husband Derek, and their young son are forced to move to a new location after the death of a student at the university where Derek is a professor. Because they have proof of his inappropriate relationship with her, they let him go. Calling in a favor he finds work at a smaller university. Evelyn has forgiven his affair with the student and they seem to be moving forward with their new life. That is until another body, also close to Derek turns up. Though he was cleared of the first death, two deaths that close to home has Evelyn wondering if her husband is a cheater AND a murderer.
Filled with so many lies and so much deception, it was hard to figure out where this would end up. The tension and gasp out loud moments were never ending, right up to the explosive, didn't see that coming ending. The story is told through multiple perspectives and is very fast paced. You won't want to put this down until the end. This was my first read by Robin Mahle, but I am definitely going to be reading more by her. Read this book!! You won't be sorry!
Thanks to Netgalley and Joffe Books for the advanced copy

First, thank you Netgalley and Joffe Books for the ARC!
It was a good book, right pace, a lot of twists, told mainly in the POV of Evelyn and her husband, Derek. Evelyn thinks her marriage and life are perfect, but sadly, they are not.
Thge characters did not really grow on me, but that was okay, seeing the story was interesting enough to make me continue reading, anyway. Well done!

Thrills and lies and action! This had it all. The characters who were greatly written and full of 5 stars and I am here for it! Great job Robin Mahle and thank you for another book to add to my library!

Review: He’s Lying About Everything by Robin Mahle
What a ride! Twisty, tense, and totally gripping. Dead women, secret affairs, and a killer hiding in plain sight—this thriller kept me guessing until the very end. I couldn’t put it down!
If you enjoy psychological thrillers full of secrets, betrayals, and jaw-dropping twists, this one’s definitely worth a read.

Eight years of marriage. A beautiful home in Connecticut. A perfect son. And one dead girl floating in a university pool. I told myself Derek’s affair didn’t matter. I could forgive him. Forget her. But that was before she died. Before detectives showed up in our kitchen. Before my perfect life cracked wide open. Now I don’t know what scares me more, That my husband might be a killer. Or that I might be the only one who can prove he is! Great read! This book had shocking suspense, murder, mystery, intriguing, action, and some wild twists and turns! The story was very interesting! I highly recommend reading this book! Thank you NetGalley and Joffe books (my favorite!) for sharing this book with me!

Evelyn, her husband Dereck, and their son get a fresh start at new house and job after Derek is proven innocent of drowning a student he’d been having an affair with. At his new job another person is found murdered in his office. Evelyn begins to question his involvement with these deaths so she begins her own search for answers.
This story is told mainly in the POV of Evelyn and Derek with very few POVs of their new neighbor Josie. I really liked getting to read Evelyn and Derek’s POV and see how vastly different they told the story. I really liked how Evelyn’s view of her husband and her new friend drastically changes throughout the story. This made it difficult to accurately guess whose side to fully trust. I loved the way Evelyn was so determined to figure out the truth only for her to later find out that the situation was much more complex than she could have ever imagined. I hated the way Derek treated Evelyn. Dereks way of consistently trying to frame others, manipulate the situation and evidence made me think he was responsible for everything. The last 20% of the book took a huge turn that was unexpected with the full truth of the murders being far from what I had anticipated.
The character were difficult for me to like due to their actions and involvement in certain parts of the book but they made the story entertaining.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This thriller has it all. An affair. Murder. "Who did it's." Twists and turns. Everything I would want in a psychological thriller. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
A strong and solid 4.5 ⭐!!! The plot was well thought out and transitions smoothly, keeping me engaged throughout. I couldn't wait to turn the pages. Did Derek kill his student, Nicole? Is he responsible for the other death in their new hometown? Will Evelyn believe Derek or does she know more than Derek knows? You will have to read to find out!
This was a quick read for me and one I highly recommend. A must add to any collection. Be prepared for a emotional rollercoaster ride!
Thank you #NetGalley and #Joffe Book for the eARC.

This book was so good I can not stand the husband to me I really felt like he was a narcissist, and the wife needed to get a backbone, and I feel like when she found out that the girl passed away because she drowned your husband mess with the female. You should’ve got a divorce. Simple it was just nasty on both parts lol but overall great book and plot

Evelyn and Derek move from their home town after a scandal in which one of Derek's students, who was his lover, dies and he is accused of her murder.
With their son, Ben, they try and rebuild their lives, and suddenly, there is another death linked to Derek.
This could break their marriage.
A good psychological thriller from one of my favourite authors. It is tense, twisty, infuriating - Derek's constant lying, and Evelyn's loyalty to him is infuriating!
Enjoyable, and a quick read, I would recommend this to fans of this genre.
4/5 stars from me.

Robin Mahle delivers a twisty, fast-paced psychological thriller that keeps the pages turning even if the final answers aren't quite as elusive as the genre often demands. He’s Lying About Everything drops readers into a seemingly perfect life that begins unraveling the moment a young woman turns up dead—and the husband’s affair becomes a chilling clue rather than a shameful secret.
The pacing is solid, with just enough suspicion and red herrings to keep the reader engaged. While seasoned thriller fans may find parts of the plot easy to predict, Mahle compensates with emotional tension and a steady stream of surprises that maintain momentum throughout. The story unfolds with suspenseful precision, making it a compulsive read for fans of domestic thrillers.
Though not groundbreaking, it’s a satisfying psychological drama full of marital secrets, shifting loyalties, and just enough unease to keep you flipping pages late into the night.
