Amigurumi Critters by Amy Ting is absolutely adorable! Each little “critter” is so cute, and the patterns are very well written and are easy to follow!
I had so much fun picking out which critter to start with! (spoiler alert: I chose Finnegan the Fox because I love foxes!) 🦊
These would make perfect gifts or just be fun little projects to crochet. If you’re into amigurumi you’re going to love this book! 🧶💞🐼🐨🐷🐸

What an adorable book. It's beginner friendly and the patterns are well sorted by difficulty.
My favorites were the fox, the sea turtles and the pug!

4.25 star
Cute animals ,patterns look easy enough .
looking forward to making some of these especially the seal ,sloth , turtle and chickens

This is an amazing crochet book!! I have never read a crochet book this informative, and it answers all of these crochet questions I've had for years! Each picture and direction is clear and instructive, and I had no problems following it. All the animals are adorable, and I love the way they are crocheted. This is a great crochet book, especially for the tips in the beginning. They all address these things I've never really understood, and the author cleared it all up!!
I recommend this completely!

I very recently started my journey with crochet, mostly relying on video tutorials and organized kits. I have made a few pieces, but I would definitely call myself a beginner. I wondered if my skills were good enough to take on the projects in this book, but those doubts quickly disappeared when I saw how approachable and encouraging Amigurumi Critters is.
Amy Ting begins the book with an uplifting introduction that reminds the reader that crochet—or any craft— should be a judgment-free journey. Then, Ting includes a section of basic techniques and abbreviations, which supports all experience levels. I really appreciated this addition!
Getting into the patterns, each critter has a cute, creative backstory. This, paired with the whimsical design, makes the book incredibly fun to read! The directions are precise, supported by clear photos and helpful QR codes. While I think they may be out of my current abilities, I really want to make Shredder for my sister and Sampson/Scout for myself. Looks like I have some practicing to do!
Reading Amigurumi Critters has reignited my interest in crochet, and I give it 5/5 stars! I will definitely be obtaining a physical copy for my collection. This guide is a must-have for any crocheter.
Thank you to NetGalley, Amy Ting, and Cider Mill Press for the ARC copy of the book in exchange for my review! All expressed opinions are my own.

As an avid amigurumi maker myself, I'm always looking for new cute patterns so when I saw this book I knew I needed to check it out! I love the critters, they are all so adorable. The patterns are clear and the instructions are easy to read and understand. I loved that they included QR codes to the authors Youtube page with videos for the different stitches. I feel like this will be really helpful to readers.

Thank you to netgalley for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. As someone who is new to crocheting this book was perfect, the first part goes through the basics of different stitches and then we get to the critters, they are all adorable. I obviously haven't done all of them but the ones I have done, while they might not have come out amazing which is more user error than the book, I loved making them all and this book is the perfect addition to any crocheters library.

I love the clarity of this book. The patterns are thoughtfully laid out, and the step-by-step visuals make even the trickier stitches feel doable. Whether you're a seasoned stitcher or just starting your yarn journey, the guidance is both welcoming and precise.
Also, the pictures of the animals hanging out around the farm is delightful.
I did make one project from this book. The littles snatched it up before I could make a hat for it. :D

Too Cute for Words!
The front cover draws you in and the author Amy Ting does a great job of breaking down the how-to steps of creating your very own Amigurumi Critters. I like how in the beginning of the book, there is very color photo pictures detailing the steps of all the techniques that will be needed. As you work your way through the book, as you select which critter you want to create, again, great how-to steps are given, broken down to the difficulty level and the pictures are extremely helpful.

Crochet critters are all the rage and this book simplifies step by step how to make each one, with bright, colorful pictures.

I absolutely loved this book! 💛 It explains everything really clearly, step by step, and it's perfect if you're just getting started with amigurumi. The instructions are super easy to follow, and the pictures are a huge help in understanding each stitch and technique.
What I enjoyed the most is how friendly and encouraging the tone is it feels like someone is guiding you patiently the whole way. It’s not overwhelming at all, and it actually makes you want to keep going and finish each project.
Perfect for beginners, but also a great resource if you already have some experience and are looking for new ideas. I totally recommend it if you love crafts and want to make cute little plushies with your own hands!

Easy to follow instructions and really cute critters all around. As a novice crochet enthusiast, I enjoyed this.

A collection of cute animals to make amigurumi!
I liked the instructions of the various stitches with clear photos at the front of the book, which s handy even for seasoned crocheters.
I think it would have been helpful to have an index of the animals, because you otherwise need to flip through the entire book to see what animals you can make.

The patterns were easily understandable and well written. The pictures were both very cute and helpful to visualize the pattern and steps. There were so many cute animals to choose from and it was well laid out. I would use this pattern book personally and recommend to friends and family!

I chose to read this book for the cute fox on the cover but took away so much more. Amy has done such a great job putting these patterns together. Her collection includes tutorials for certain stitches, abbreviation charts and tips that are so well done. She really knows her stuff and showcases such fun and cute characters. It's so hard to pick a favorite.
Not only is this book colorful but it's full of insights that even seasoned crochet artists can use.
I really enjoyed this book and am thrilled to be adding it to my collection. I'll probably buy a copy for my niece and daughter too. This will make a cute gift. The critters inside will make fun gifts as well.
I'm excited to find more books by this author.
Thank you Netgalley for gifting me a copy of this book to review. All opinions in this review are my own.

I am an intermediate crocheter and I found this book delightful. The patterns are easy to read, and include photos to match, and the critters are adorable. I too like to use Hobbii yarn for amigurumi!
I really liked the patterns being broken up by difficulty level - and not just that but definitions of what that meant for this book as well. I am especially excited to create some sea creatures from this - Shredder (the shark) and the cute Otter Family are top of my list for my daughter. I have not seen some of the other sea creatures ever done in amigurumi before this too (beluga whale, dolphin).
I will probably make the cute capybara for my husband as well. What a cute book of critters to crochet! Thank you to Amy Ting and also to NetGalley for putting this on Camp NetGalley!

This book looks so fun. This looks beginner friendly for someone interested in learning a new skill. I like that there are pictures of skills you need to know. The instructions look clear and easy to understand. Could be a fun summer project to do with my kids. The mallard duck is very cute.

I received this DRC from NetGalley.
The patterns don't look very difficult to do; the instructions include photographs and are very clear. I thought the capybara and turtle were really cute. There appears to be a lot of similarity between some of the patterns, so these would probably be more suited to crocheters that are looking to keep it simple rather than looking to be challenged. Overall, the book is pretty cute and was formatted in an approachable way.

This is so cute. I’ve been crocheting for a few years now and always love finding new patterns for little critters and stuffies. The patterns are easy to follow and give good instruction.

Amigurumi Critters Is adorable!! This was the perfect balance of information, instruction and photos. Every single critter is adorable and exactly the type of craft I’d like to make and give to friends (and then make more for my own house)
