This is such a great book for people wanting to learn to crochet amigurumi! The patterns are all extremely clear and I love that this includes a whole section on basics because it's really useful when you're a little out of practice and need refreshers on certain techniques. It's also really nice that the patterns are organized by difficulty levels because it gives a way for the crocheter to know where they're at in terms of skills and what they can improve on. Highly recommend for all crocheters from beginner to intermediate levels

Thanks to NetGalley and Cider Mill Press for the e-ARC!

As an avid crocheter I always love finding new patterns and things to make. These patterns are so adorable and the instructions are very clear. This would be a perfect gift for someone who wants to learn how to crochet. I appreciate the format of the book and how clear the photos are.

This is a perfect book for all levels of crocheters. Beginners will especially love the information included about hooks, different types of yarn, different ways to make stitches, and the answers to many questions that beginner crochet artists have. More experienced crocheters will love the super cute patterns!

I'm a newbie when it comes to the hobby of crochet, but I'm so excited to start with the easy projects in this critter crochet book. If you like Woobles, you will like this Amigurumi Critters book as well!

OMG!! This book has the absolute cutest patterns in it. The variety of animals from capybaras, to belugas, to birds galore truly makes this book special. It is also very well thought out. The patterns are easier to follow. The extra step by step explanations of how to do each type of stitch you will need to for the projects is a wonderful addition as well. Too often I come across books like this that expect you to know everything before coming in, but that is not the case with this book. It is one that you can grow with as you build up your skills.

These patterns are super cute and I love them so much. The instructions are very clear and simple to follow. It even has picture guides at the beginning with how stitches should look, which personally I'm a huge fan of and I haven't seen many amigurumi books do that. I want a whole collection of these critters ASAP! #CampNetGalley

Thank you NetGalley and CiderMill Press for the copy of this book.

For reference I am a beginner at crochet and have taught myself - with that in mind I could easily read and follow the patterns. The author has the patterns separated into difficulty level so if you are like me I’d start with the easier ones. The book is laid out in a nice way; I appreciate that each pattern starts with the materials needed, techniques used and any notes for the pattern including the final size. Each step is clearly laid out and each part of the amigurumi is separated out. I enjoy that there are photographs or the various parts / steps as well as QR codes to video tutorials. If like me you have been wanting to attempt to crochet this style then this book is a good way to do that.

A fun new hobby that is accessible for everyone. Step by Step instructions with photos to assist and you are off and crocheting. This hot new trend is fun for so many and this book provides some new characters and easy to follow directions. if you are a beginner or seasoned the patterns will be something you can tackle and provide for gifts or craft shows. There is still time to make those holiday gifts. Thanks to Netgalley, author and publisher for the opportunity.

What I liked: Creative amigurumi patterns from a favorite Instagram needlework influencer.

What I disliked: The 5 bird patterns are variations of the same design. With only 25 patterns in this book, it would have been better to substitute different animal patterns for 4 of these 5

As a left-handed crocheter, I'll always be disappointed when they only use pictures of the right hand for techniques sections. While I appreciate her also having YouTube videos, but now I have to hunt for videos.
The way to do the pug, pig, and capabara are at least something I haven't seen before. Nothing else really stuck out to me as new. I've seen all the animals before, maybe the beluga was the most unique. For some reason the extra long tube arms on the koala and sloth look just too silly for me.

I am so incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have received an advanced copy of Amigurumi Critters from the author, and Cider Mill Press 🫶

Amigurumi Critters is such a resourceful book and it provides such clear and concise instructions for how to make an Amigurumi Critter! 🥹💕 This book has it all broken down for all experience levels so anyone can use this book whether they are beginner all the way up to an advanced level. Personally, as someone who has never crocheted in my life I found it incredibly useful that there were pages in the book about how to do basic stitches! 🫶

My son and I spotted this while grabbing a title for NetGalley camp and he was incredibly excited about it. We were in the middle of crafting time so we went and pulled out the crochet supplies. We’ve started working on Gertrude the Grumpy Chick and so far it’s been pretty seamless (pun intended)!

We can’t wait to keep working on our chick and making other creatures!!

Thank you to Cider Mill Press and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Amigurumi Critters is a cute introduction to crochet for beginners and experienced crafters. I appreciated the large variety of patterns and possible projects to do. The animals are adorable and have clear instructions, but many of them are a little repetitive. Especially for the bird patterns, the main design of them are basically the same, but with different colors. I liked this book and look forward to crocheting my own Amigurumi Critters!

This is an excellent amigurumi book, and the patterns are all very cute. It seems well-written and easy to follow. I will be making a few of the patterns for my children, and we may consider purchasing it for the library if there is renewed interest in crochet.

I’ve been a follower of Amy Ting for years, so I jumped at the chance to check out her latest amigurumi book. I loved it!

The link to video tutorials is such a great addition—especially for people like me who learned to knit and crochet by watching videos. It makes the book super beginner-friendly, while still being fun for more experienced crafters too.

All of the projects are small and totally doable, which I really appreciate. But I can also see how you could easily scale the critters up by switching up your yarn and hook size. The patterns are clear, easy to follow, and every little critter is just so cute.

This is definitely a book I’ll be coming back to often. I love it!

Thank you to Cider Mill Press for the chance to review this—it was such a treat!

This is a very informative guide to crocheting little amigurumi. The amigurumi themselves are so cute!

This amigurumi crochet book does a good job of being exactly what it says it is. While it does have a lot of basic information in the beginning, I would definitely agree with the author that it is a beginner+/intermediate level for low lowest level. It doesn't have as many pictures or videos to be a straight beginner and I appreciate it knowing exactly what it is.

I would have liked it to have more yarn options listed but as a more experienced corcheter, I can use yarnsub.com to find others. I do like that the yarn suggested is from a well known company that ships globally and often has really good sales so it's accessible for many who may not have a ton of money. The hook size can be a bit hard though as many sets beginner+ people have don't come with a 2.75mm and clover hooks are quite expensive.

The variety and amount of animals was super fun and I'm looking forward to making some of the less common ones like the otter family and the axolotl!

This was a cute and informative read about Amigurumi! I loved making amigurumi and this book provides some great patterns. I especially liked the polar bear, sea otter family, and other aquatic creatures. I think this book would be perfect for someone who has the basics of crochet down and is ready to make the jump to amigurumi. The QR code to video resources are a nice touch.

Thanks to Amy Ting, Cinder Mill Press, and Netgalley for a free ARC in exchange for honest feedback.
