This was such a cute and informative book! I have not tried any of the patterns yet, but the instructions are easy to follow. The animal patterns are adorable and I love the descriptions for each one. I also appreciate that some of the instructions come with a QR code for video instructions, as crochet patterns can sometimes be difficult to explain.

I have been seeing little crochet animals all across my social media feeds. They all look so cute and I have been interested in trying my hand at one for a while. When I saw Amy Ting's Amigurumi Critters, I knew that I definitely wanted to check this book out. The animals look so cute. I was pleased to find that the instructions are straight forward with pictures to demonstrate each new skill. I look forward to going to buy craft supplies in an attempt to make the grumpy chick soon!

This book is packed with great content and tons of useful information — the kind my friend definitely could’ve used when she was crocheting her first toy. She didn’t even know about the right and wrong sides!
I also came across a bunch of tips I didn’t know myself — and I used to think of myself as an expert 😅
Some of the instructions even include QR codes that link to video tutorials, which is super helpful.
It’s a fantastic book for beginners — and not just beginners.
And the crocheted pug? I’m obsessed! 🧶🐶

THE SHARK AND OTTER ARE YOU KIDDING??
I’m always on the lookout for new patterns and seeing the cover of this book? I knew I had to snatch it up!!
I’m so excited to get started on the shark - the book explains the techniques and stitches required perfectly so I feel I know what I’m doing!

I'm an avid crochet-er, and am always looking for more Amigurumi patterns! I love making micro Amigurumi animals, so I'll definitely be using these patterns to do just that! These are the cutest little woodland (and more!) creatures, with informative and easy to follow instructions! I've already made the penguin, and I'll certainly be making more from this book!

I am a pretty serious knitter, but I've always wanted to add crochet to my toolbox. However, I don't want the process of learning crochet and creating large crochet projects to interfere with my knitting time. Enter "Amigurumi Critters"! These 25 patterns have many features to entice beginning crocheters. First, they are absolutely adorable - more personality than normally seen in amigurumi patterns. Second, they are graded according to difficulty, with straightforward patterns (and plenty of them) toward the beginning of the book.
Finally, author Amy Ting's approach to pattern design helps the beginner learn a variety of stitches and techniques as they create the critters. Each pattern doesn't take anything for granted, but also doesn't talk down to the reader. Each step has a helpful photo, and there are also QR codes scattered throughout to take readers to videos for the more difficult techniques.
I have only one criticism/comment. In the beginning, Ms Ting makes it clear that one yarn brand is her favorite, and each pattern lists only yarns by that brand in the instructions. I assume that means that Ms. Ting has a sponsorship agreement with this yarn, and if so, it should have been made clear. Obviously, the reader can substitute other yarns, but beginners might not know how to do that and come up with the same results. My preference would have been to include a paragraph making the relationship with the yarn brand clear, and stating some ways to evaluate other brands to determine their suitability for substitution.
I'm very much looking forward to trying my hand at these patterns. Many thanks to Cider Mill Press and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

The book is well laid out and filled to the brim with helpful tips and tricks with clear instructions. Anyone familiar with crochet pattern reading will find this a helpful directory of excellent patterns. The clear photos makes this a wonderful resource.

Great little pattern book with some really cute critters! I appreciate that these balance added details to make them more interesting for an intermediate crocheter with being quick to work up/manageable for a newbie.

I recently started crocheting again and am always on the lookout for fun patterns to make for my kids. This book is full of fun animal patterns that I can’t wait to try out. I haven’t tried any of the size yet, but looking over the directions it seems like they should be easy to follow. I liked all of the stitch information and pictures at the beginning of the book and think I’ll be referencing it as I go. Now I just need to decide which pattern to start with!

Amigurumi Critters by Amy Ting is a crochet pattern book with 25 different patterns for amigurumi. I loved that this collection of patterns offered some unique patterns I haven't come across in other books yet, such as the sea otter family, starfish, dolphin and turtle with a granny square shell. Reading through the various patterns that captured my interest, I felt they were clearly written with detailed pictures. I am really looking forward to getting started on some of these really soon!

This is a great book. It has instructions for beginners to understand stitches in the beginning of the book. Great colored pictures with all the patterns. The patterns are simple and easy to understand. I loved it

This book does a great job explaining how to do the patterns and also has really good diagrams as well! The patterns are also adorable and I can't wait to try making a few of them!

As a beginner level crocheter, I was excited to explore the possibilities of amigurumi style crocheting. While it’s currently out of my depth, I really liked Ting’s approach to explaining the “why” behind the techniques she uses.
I thought the photos with markings to demonstrate the subtle differences between stitches were great for a visual learner like myself. Even reading about her yarn preferences helped me feel more knowledgeable about this art form.
I would be remiss to not mention how cute the amigurumi were. That sea star is going to be top of my to-make list once I can figure out how to master the magic circle!
Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC as part of #campnetgalley!

These patterns were so cute and very easy to follow! I loved that each animal had its own backstory. A fun crochet book!

This amigurumi book is simply delightful! The designs are incredibly cute, and the entire book is thoughtfully laid out with full-color step-by-step photos that make the process easy to follow even for beginners. I felt completely confident starting my first project thanks to the clear, simple explanations.
What I love most is how accessible the instructions are. Whether you're new to crochet or have some experience, you'll find the guidance easy to understand and the results rewarding. Each piece turns out beautifully and would make a lovely gift or keepsake.
The book is well-developed, inspiring, and a true joy to use. I’ve already picked out several patterns I can’t wait to try. If you love charming, handmade crafts or are looking for a relaxing new hobby, this book is a perfect place to start!
Highly recommend for crafters of all levels and it would make a wonderful gift, too!

Thank you to NetGalley for this EARC - I am very much a newbie to crochet but the gorgeous photos and simple instructions make me think even I will be able to create something!
Love the Axolotl and the Beluga Whale! :)

The projects in this book are adorable!!!! I have been crocheting for a very long time so It’s rare I come across a crochet book that teaches me new techniques, but I learned quite a few from this book. The fox is my absolute favorite! Love this book.

I'm new to Amigurumi and this book is just what I needed to get me started. This guide is great for anyone from beginners to long time crocheter. There are 25 adorable critters to create. The photos are great to see what your new little critter friend should look like. This book gets you ready with all the items you may need, the techniques and instructions and the easy-to-follow step-by-step directions are packed with the details you need. We want to make them all. My 2-year-old adores them, she even has her favorites like Puddles the penguin and the sea otter family. You will love this guide. My mom has crocheted her whole life and she loves it. It makes a great gift for the crafter in your world, including yourself. I am hooked. Enjoy

Such a delightful crochet amigurumi book. I love the anecdotes about each animal. The directions are clear and easy to understand. I am an advanced crochet hobbyist and found the photos clear and appropriate for select steps. The QR code for the turtle's shell is a nice touch as well. I can't wait to make the kissing capybaras!
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for allowing me to review this book.

I loved this cute amigurumi guide! I've just started crocheting and I tried to do the chicken from this book, it's still a bit hard for me, but I learned a lot!
