Great little pattern book with some really cute critters! I appreciate that these balance added details to make them more interesting for an intermediate crocheter with being quick to work up/manageable for a newbie.

I recently started crocheting again and am always on the lookout for fun patterns to make for my kids. This book is full of fun animal patterns that I can’t wait to try out. I haven’t tried any of the size yet, but looking over the directions it seems like they should be easy to follow. I liked all of the stitch information and pictures at the beginning of the book and think I’ll be referencing it as I go. Now I just need to decide which pattern to start with!

Amigurumi Critters by Amy Ting is a crochet pattern book with 25 different patterns for amigurumi. I loved that this collection of patterns offered some unique patterns I haven't come across in other books yet, such as the sea otter family, starfish, dolphin and turtle with a granny square shell. Reading through the various patterns that captured my interest, I felt they were clearly written with detailed pictures. I am really looking forward to getting started on some of these really soon!

This is a great book. It has instructions for beginners to understand stitches in the beginning of the book. Great colored pictures with all the patterns. The patterns are simple and easy to understand. I loved it

This book does a great job explaining how to do the patterns and also has really good diagrams as well! The patterns are also adorable and I can't wait to try making a few of them!

As a beginner level crocheter, I was excited to explore the possibilities of amigurumi style crocheting. While it’s currently out of my depth, I really liked Ting’s approach to explaining the “why” behind the techniques she uses.
I thought the photos with markings to demonstrate the subtle differences between stitches were great for a visual learner like myself. Even reading about her yarn preferences helped me feel more knowledgeable about this art form.
I would be remiss to not mention how cute the amigurumi were. That sea star is going to be top of my to-make list once I can figure out how to master the magic circle!
Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC as part of #campnetgalley!

These patterns were so cute and very easy to follow! I loved that each animal had its own backstory. A fun crochet book!

This amigurumi book is simply delightful! The designs are incredibly cute, and the entire book is thoughtfully laid out with full-color step-by-step photos that make the process easy to follow even for beginners. I felt completely confident starting my first project thanks to the clear, simple explanations.
What I love most is how accessible the instructions are. Whether you're new to crochet or have some experience, you'll find the guidance easy to understand and the results rewarding. Each piece turns out beautifully and would make a lovely gift or keepsake.
The book is well-developed, inspiring, and a true joy to use. I’ve already picked out several patterns I can’t wait to try. If you love charming, handmade crafts or are looking for a relaxing new hobby, this book is a perfect place to start!
Highly recommend for crafters of all levels and it would make a wonderful gift, too!

Thank you to NetGalley for this EARC - I am very much a newbie to crochet but the gorgeous photos and simple instructions make me think even I will be able to create something!
Love the Axolotl and the Beluga Whale! :)

The projects in this book are adorable!!!! I have been crocheting for a very long time so It’s rare I come across a crochet book that teaches me new techniques, but I learned quite a few from this book. The fox is my absolute favorite! Love this book.

I'm new to Amigurumi and this book is just what I needed to get me started. This guide is great for anyone from beginners to long time crocheter. There are 25 adorable critters to create. The photos are great to see what your new little critter friend should look like. This book gets you ready with all the items you may need, the techniques and instructions and the easy-to-follow step-by-step directions are packed with the details you need. We want to make them all. My 2-year-old adores them, she even has her favorites like Puddles the penguin and the sea otter family. You will love this guide. My mom has crocheted her whole life and she loves it. It makes a great gift for the crafter in your world, including yourself. I am hooked. Enjoy

Such a delightful crochet amigurumi book. I love the anecdotes about each animal. The directions are clear and easy to understand. I am an advanced crochet hobbyist and found the photos clear and appropriate for select steps. The QR code for the turtle's shell is a nice touch as well. I can't wait to make the kissing capybaras!
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for allowing me to review this book.

I loved this cute amigurumi guide! I've just started crocheting and I tried to do the chicken from this book, it's still a bit hard for me, but I learned a lot!

What a cute and fun collection of critters! This book is absolutely adorable. The patterns are super easy to follow, and the instructions are clear and beginner-friendly. The photos are bright, helpful, and show off each critter so well—makes it easy to see what you’re aiming for. I already have a list of ones I can’t wait to make. Whether you’re new to amigurumi or have been doing it for a while, this book is a great addition to your collection.

What a lovely book, the instructions are clearly and easy to read and I’m looking forward to trying them out .

What a wonderful book. The projects started of simple and clear. There were many photos through the book. Projects start off easy beginner patterns and become more advanced in the book. So many little cute patterns the grandkids are going to love them.
Thank you NetGalley and Cider Mill Press for an amazing ARC.

This is a good book for beginners wanting to try some animals. There's tips and suggestions and video links for those who prefer learning that way. Easy to understand, well-written patterns. Several animals are the same basic shape, especially the birds, just color changes or a small difference here and there, making it easier for newbies to get a variety of animals with the same techniques. It does make some of them look less realistic looking, which is just a personal preference of mine. They are cute and there's some animals you don't often see patterns for, which was what caught my interest. Definitely a beginner level book but can be fun for more advanced crocheters like me too.

I wanted to wait until I had finished making one of these adorable critters before posting my review, but life got busy and my poor koala is still half made, so the pictures will have to wait!
In this colourful book, Amy Ting provides clear, step-by-step instructions on how to crochet 25 amigurumi animals. The book starts with some basic crochet instructions (good for beginners or as a reminded for experienced crocheters) and the projects are organised by level of difficulty, starting with projects for beginners and then ending with some more advanced projects. Amy Ting provides some tips and tricks throughout the book and some projects include QR codes if readers prefer to use video tutorials instead. The patterns are clearly presented with photographs of the individual pieces before assembly, which I found really helpful.
A recommended read for beginner and experienced crocheters alike.
Thank you to NetGalley and Cider Mill Press for providing me with a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I received the ARC on Netgalley and the best way I could think to review this book was to try and create one of the adorable creations within. I started with Gertrude the grumpy chick and I feel the step by step instructions are easy to understand even with my ADHD. I do thin I will need to pick up the physical copy once I run across it because there are more i this book, such as the otter and fox, I want to create. Maybe I will make different creatures for my friends for Christmas.
Whatever I do decide to do, I will have to thank this book for making the instructions easy to follow and for giving pictures and helpful tips. This was my first crochet e-book but I have picked up patterns before and I like the way this was presented to the reader/ crafter.

I read through this on vacation but can honestly say that many of these patterns are on my to-do list for when I return home. the animals are adorable, but even better, the instructions are clear to understand, have photographs to help along the way, and give leveling to show how advanced of a pattern each animal is.
The yarn selection given for the book is affordable and easy to obtain.
I plan to use this book to help teach my kids how to make amigurumi.
