What a charming and beginner-friendly crochet book featuring a delightful collection of small, cuddly animal patterns.

The instructions are clear, the photos are cute and very helpful to show what the finished animal should look like.

It's perfect for both new and seasoned crocheters.

As a huge fan of the Woobles, Amigurumi Critters is a great next step for any beginner crocheters who have graduated amigurumi kits but don’t feel like they’re quite ready to strike out on their own yet. Amigurumi Critters not only provides clear instructions for crocheting cute creatures, but also gives suggestions for yarn and crochet hooks to purchase to best replicate their sample critters.

A how-to guide with instructions and some images on how to create various amigurumi (crocheted animals).

Apparently the author has social media accounts for crocheting, and there’s some QR codes that probably lead to videos (the links don’t work in the arc). There’s cute animals you can make, generally listed by difficulty level, but I think people who have experience with crocheting will get the most out of it, who want to make something new.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️'s! This books has some of the cutest patterns! Each pattern is easy to understand even for beginners. I love how Amy also added plenty of photos and helpful tips for anyone new to crocheting.

This is an incredible array of animal amigurumi crochet patterns!

Things I loved:
- There were so many options that I had a difficult time choosing!
- The colors and character art for the amigurumis were so cute and clever! You could really feel the passion from the author and designer.
- I appreciated the options for beginner, intermediate, and advanced patterns.
- I have been crocheting for over 20 years. I have experienced many kinds of patterns. I can say these patterns were pretty easy to understand!
- The photography was nice for different parts of the pattern

Room for improvement:
- There were times where a well placed arrow might have been helpful in certain points of the pattern.
- I did find one mistake in the amigurumi I made (and let the publisher know). As someone who has experience crocheting, it was easy for me to see this and adjust, but it might be confusing for beginners.

Amigurumi Critters is a great book for people who are interested in crocheting stuffed animals. The beginning chapters introduces the reader to basic stitches with pictures on how to complete the stitches in steps. With each pattern there is a difficulty rating from beginner to advanced. The animal designs are adorable. (The grumpy duck is my favorite). The patterns were easy to read and replicate. There is the reference in the front of the book if the reader gets stuck on the abbreviations. This is a great tool for anyone looking to get into crocheting or even the seasoned crocheters looking for a fun new project to explore.

I am always looking for new crochet projects and this book has some great ideas! I like that the projects are organized from beginner patterns to more advanced ones. The patterns are easy to follow and many offer color variations to give crocheters choices! My only complaint is that I wish the table of contents in the beginning of the book listed out the projects that are in each section so that they are easier to find.

There are some fun designs in here. There are good descriptions and pictures to help. It would be a decent beginners book.

This is so amazingly cute! The patterns are very clear and easy to follow along with! Couldn't recommend this amigurumi book more! Though, I'm not a beginner, this would have been so helpful if I had it when I first started crocheting.

I am so excited to have found this book! I am an advanced crocheter and I would have loved this when I first started out. All of the patterns are very clear and the photos as invaluable. I think the range of images versus text is perfect and I cannot wait to purchase this for friends. I was able to make one of the patterns with ease and I will be trying more.

This is a fun crochet book that has a lot of super cute animals. There is something for everyone with animals that often can be found in books like this but also quite a few I haven't seen before which was exciting. I am planning to purchase a physical copy for myself because I liked it so well and think I can make a ton of Christmas presents for the littles in my life (and a few not so littles lol).

Absolutely adorable designs and I appreciate that everything was sorted by difficulty. I started on the sea otters and quickly realized that, since this was my first time crocheting animals, I probably should be working on an easier one! The only thought I had while working was that I would need a video of some sort to go along with it, but that's a personal preference.

If you are looking for a beginner crochet book, this is not for you. This book is for someone who knows the basics of crochet and understands how to read a crochet pattern. If you are looking for a book that gives you everything you need to know to make cute animal stuffies, then grab this as quick as you can. From how to do invisible colour changes, to the benefits of staggard increases, this book has all the tips you need to make professional looking amigurumi. The patterns are clear, with lots of helpful pictures, a number a patterns also have QR codes to video tutorials in case you prefer that style of pattern. Definitely a book to pick up if Amigurumi is your thing.

Cute but a bit tricky

This book has lots of cute and creative crochet animals. The designs are fun and colorful, and there’s a nice variety to choose from.

But even though it says it's for all skill levels, some of the patterns are a little hard to follow. If you're new to crochet, you might find it confusing at times. It would be better with more step-by-step help.

Still, it’s a good book if you already know the basics and want some fun projects to try.

As a new crocheter, I am amazed at this book. I had been on the fence as to whether to try my hand at amigurumi, but seeing these patterns and adorable critters, I'm definitely going to give it a try!
I will be recommending this book in all of my crochet groups on Facebook.

The instructions in this book were clear and straightforward for us beginners. I appreciated the background to set the tone for the book, but didn’t take too long to get into the instructions. The pictures and the drawings on the pictures were extremely helpful. Also I appreciated the glossary of terms to learn how to read a pattern. With 25 fun patterns (and adorable names) I think this book is a great value to get your feet wet for learning to crochet.

I loved the diverse crochet animals in the book! I particularly appreciated the level progression, starting with the beginner friendly projects and gradually increasing the difficulty. The inclusion of clear instructions and pictures was also a huge plus.
