I just loved this book so much so that I read it in one sitting as I couldn’t put it down. I loved how it carried on from the first book and I loved getting to know more about Aunt Polly. I loved the quirky characters in this book too, it would be amazing if you were able to speak to the ghosts the way they are in this book. I really hope that there is an another book in this series as it’s just an amazing book with an amazing story.

I would highly recommend reading this book and the first book in this series as they are amazing books with great characters and so heartwarming as well.

A cute return to Harling Hall!

I enjoyed coming back to Harling Hall for this second book in the series, and the second-chance romance between Max and Shona was really sweet - I was rooting for them the minute Shona admitted to herself that she had a little crush on him. Max’s search for answers about his German POW grandfather was interesting as I don’t read a lot of historical fiction (but am obviously well aware of WWII) and the way this was integrated with the village’s 1940s themed weekend helped set the tone for the book.

I will say though that I would have liked more of Shona & Max’s story and a bit less of Polly’s POV, or that the two elements were interwoven more or something; they felt a little separate (even though they were two angles of the same story). And it’s for that reason that I’ve given it the 3.5 rating.

That said! I am looking forward to returning for the Christmas instalment when it comes out!

This book was just as cozy as the first one.
In this story we follow Shona, the manager of the tea house who alongside her ghost aunt Polly, get shaken up when meeting Max, a German teacher. Slowly it comes clear that Max might be tied to how Polly ended up being a ghost; but between a 1940s inspired weekend, polly herself not wanting the truth to come out and Shona and Max not knowing if they can find love again; the situation gets messy.
Personally I really liked this story and the historical setting that was in the background. I did not see the plot twist coming, but I throughly enjoyed this story. As I said for the first one, this one as well doesn’t need a romantic subplot, however I liked how this one was integrated way better. Also really enjoyed reading from a grown woman’s perspective.

Ghosts, romance, teashop, and all the Cotswolds charm you could ever need and want in such a cosy and warming book. I loved every second of this novel, and it took me right out of my reading slump. This goes down on my list of which novels I wish I could read again for the first time <3

I am loving this series. The premise is just SO GOOD, and I wouldn't be surprised if there were sequel after sequel with this much scope for stories.

This novel has it all from old mysteries solved, romance, new characters, misunderstandings and family love and loyalty. I like the protagonist being a curvy 52 year old woman who is a true teashop owner through and through.

I like that the community of ghosts is revealing so much more than before and having little parts to play throughout, for example Isaac and his naughty eavesdropping to the vicar (Silas?) finally getting a smile on his face and even some ghosts from loooong ago joining in the fun.

The 1940's event sounds so amazing and I wish I could have been there myself. Buckling in for the next installment and hope it will be a Victorian Christmas theme! Loving the series and seriously jealous that it isn't real so I can visit.

I loved this book! Honestly feels like a warm hug in a book. I feel like it had everything I look for in a nice cosy fantasy, a little romance, relatable characters and a storyline that keeps you gripped. Highly recommend!

I loved this book! After reading the first book in this series earlier this year I couldn’t wait to dive back into the village of Rowan Vale and it did not disappoint!
I think I enjoyed this more than the first.
The vintage feel and the 1940’s event was so much fun, throw in a mystery to solve! I did not have a clue how this would end and was very surprised.
This is the perfect book to read while being cuddled up with a good cup of tea.

What a great story I read in one sitting as I couldn’t put it down. I loved the characters and the dynamics between them. If you love romance , anything supernatural and some laughs then this book is for you.

This was a great story a little slow at times but I still really enjoyed it and I’m now sat here with a million questions while waiting for the next one.

This was my first book in the Ghosts of Rowan Vale series as I have not read the first book which I'm now curious to read.

The books take place in a small English town with a charming vintage theme which also has some vintage characters- GHOSTS. People who have died in the town can remain in the town as ghosts but are only seen by certain people in the town. This adds a fun twist to the small-town boy meets girl romance genre by adding people from different time periods and who add a lot of interesting stories.

In book two, our main female character is Shona, a 52-year-old female who is described as curvier, which I love having an older more relatable main character. She meets Max who is trying to find out more about his family history which is tied to Shona's family history.

I enjoyed the book and truly didn't see what was coming at the end but there were also a few times in the middle of the book that I felt like some sections dragged on. I do look forward to what is coming next in this series as this town is a unique concept and I love the ghost, vintage aspects.

A wonderful read!
This novel drew me in from the very first page and kept me hooked until the end. The characters were vibrant and relatable, the writing was engaging, and the story had just the right balance of heart and humor. Highly recommend!

I was delighted to have the chance to read the second in this series of stories. I love the spooky but charming atmosphere, the quirky characters, and the ultimate resolution of everyone coming together. A very enjoyable read!

I absolutely loved this book! The characters were so charming and full of heart—I found myself completely swept up in their lives and didn’t want to leave the village of Rowan Vale. There’s something so comforting about a story that blends romance, history, and just the right touch of magic, and this one delivered it all beautifully.

Shona was such a relatable and endearing heroine. I adored her vintage teashop, her quiet strength, and especially the bond she shares with her ghostly great-aunt Polly. Polly added such depth to the story, with her bittersweet memories and secrets from the past. Their relationship was moving, layered, and had me tearing up more than once.

And then there’s Max kind, intriguing, and exactly the kind of character you root for from the moment he appears. The chemistry between him and Shona was gentle but irresistible, and I couldn’t stop smiling every time they shared a scene.

The magical setting of Rowan Vale, with its living-history charm and hidden layers of the past, made everything feel so vivid and real. The 1940s-themed weekend was such a lovely plot thread, bringing the storylines together in a way that was both heartwarming and emotionally powerful.

This book had everything I love: romance, history, humor, and a dash of the supernatural. It left me feeling full of hope and completely enchanted. I can’t wait to read more in this series!

This book Sharon has done it again magic , a 1940s themed tea shop , a very cosy romance , ghosts , set in the Cotswold , lots of mystery YES PLEASE !!

the setting to the story i thought was wonderfully quirky ,and feels like Sharon is great at making her books so atmospheric ,and makes you feel like you are with the characters in the story .

i really enjoyed the ghosts and mystery in the story and trust me there is plenty of it .

the characters there are a few that are all wonderful in their own ways. I loved Shona she is a brilliant heroine .
Max swoon worthy girls perfect , charming and witty i was sold .
the perfect slow burn romance Max and Shona worked so well together

and can i just say the cover is so pretty the art work is wonderful as the last .

i thought the story over all was perfect just what i needed i was so invested in the story the best escapism pure magic .

i give the book 5 cosy feels stars

Loving Spirits at the Vintage Teashop is book 2 in the very quirky series Ghosts of Rowan Vale where Aunt Polly, along with her modern family live, and have done so for many generations.
Rowan Vale is a beautiful tourist village which has been carefully restored to days of yesteryear, where people can come to sample the past through the many shops that grace the township; Shona Bannerman is the manager of the Vintage Teashop which has been managed by her family for more than eighty years.
The difference with Rowan Vale is it has a village full of Ghosts who live there and have done so for many years, some for centuries. The new owner of the Village, Callie Chase has a gift that allows her to see and talk with all the Ghosts in residence, whereas others can see some or none at all.
Callie comes up with the idea to have a theme weekend set during the War years which while agreed to by the current day villagers, is met with scepticism from the ghostly residents, but the decision to proceed is accepted by all, eventually.
Aunt Polly is a very popular figure around the town, having passed away in 1948, she was murdered, thinks it is a great idea and when Shona Bannerman nee Deakin, her niece asks if it will distress her, she says it will not. The murderer was never caught and if Aunt Polly knew who it was, she has carefully locked that memory away, not to be disturb at any cost.
When a stranger comes to town asking questions about the men held there as Prisoners of War a change begins to take place within the close-knit Deakin family and other members of the community.
Max is good looking, well dressed and in some distress about what he perceived happened to his beloved grandfather while he worked in Rowan Vale. He and Shona meet, and she finds there seems to be some sort of attraction between them, which she finds surprising as she has no inclination at all to invite another man into her life after the shattering end to her marriage.
As the past starts to give up its secrets, a decision must be made as to how much of the past should be revealed and how much harm it will do to the living with the retelling of crime committed more than seventy years ago.
Entertaining and most enjoyable Loving Spirits at the Vintage Teashop is the prefect excuse to spend the afternoon on the couch reveling in a well written, cozy mystery which will keep you guessing

A warm cozy mystery with romance, ghosts, and tea, set in a lovely Cotswold village. This Book 2 in the Rowan Vale series can be read solo, but you'll definitely want to read Book 1, Kindred Spirits at Harling Hall, too. Recommended!

Loving Spirits at the Vintage Teashop was such a lovely blend of cozy romance, historical intrigue, and just a touch of the supernatural. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect going in, but this story completely won me over with its big heart and gentle wit.

Shona is a wonderfully refreshing heroine—fifty-something, newly divorced, and slowly rediscovering herself while running her delightfully quirky 1940s-themed teashop. I loved her voice: practical, funny, and quietly hopeful. And the ghostly presence of Aunt Polly added a charming twist that gave the book emotional depth without ever tipping into overly whimsical territory.

Max was a great addition to the village—not just as a love interest, but as a man genuinely seeking answers about his family's past. The way the story explored the lasting impact of WWII, especially through the lens of love and guilt, was surprisingly moving. The historical thread was handled with care and gave the novel a richer texture.

The 1940s weekend event was a real highlight, bringing everything—past and present—crashing together in the best way. It gave the story momentum and allowed both Shona and Polly’s arcs to come to a satisfying emotional resolution.

I’m giving it four stars instead of five mainly because the pacing dipped slightly in the middle, and a couple of side characters felt underused. But overall, this was a warm, bittersweet, and feel-good read with just the right balance of romance, history, and a hint of ghostly guidance.

If you’re in the mood for something comforting with a vintage twist and a touch of magic, Loving Spirits at the Vintage Teashop is a perfect pick.

Loving Spirits At The Vintage Tea-Shop by Sharon Booth is a charming contemporary fantasy that I really enjoyed. It is the second book in the Ghosts Of Rowan Vale series but can be read as a stand-alone. For maximum enjoyment and character progression, I recommend reading the books in order.
I enjoyed meeting up with familiar faces as the residents and ghosts once more mingle in the village.
There is the theme of grief. “Grief… comes in waves… like tiny waves lapping on the shore… it’s… like a tidal wave, crashing down upon you.” Grief ebbs and flows as there are good and bad days. You just have to work through it the best you can. “When grief comes along… We don’t always have the strength to hold up other people.” Sometimes it’s as much as you can do just to put one foot in front of another. There is no energy left for others.
We see the need for forgiveness. A character feared retribution and hid away for years. When actually he had already received the gift of grace and forgiveness straight away, he just didn’t know it.
A character arrives from Germany seeking answers. The solution is more complicated than anyone imagined and affects several residents.
Preparing for the 1940’s weekend uncovers memories, and also answers a question that has been on minds for decades.
We see that it is possible to have a second stab at life. We must leave the past behind and step unhindered into the future.
Love is the glue that holds lives together. And there is a lot of love to go around.
I thoroughly enjoyed Loving Spirits At The Vintage Tea-Shop. It was both unique and entertaining. I look forward to more books in this series.

A ghost who doesn’t want her murder solved, a tea shop, and a budding romance.

This is the first book in a new series!

First off, this cover is gorgeous!

This book touches on dealing with grief and complicated family dynamics. I enjoyed the little bits of history sprinkled throughout the mystery.
I honestly wasn’t invested in the romance as these characters are a bit older than I am.
This story takes place in England so the vocabulary is different and fun.
I enjoyed the small town and tea shop setting.
I recommend this for lovers of cozy mysteries/romances who are middle aged.

A sweet story that covers the life of another of Rowen Vales ghostly residents and their family.
I enjoyed this one even more than the first book, the world has been built and now we get it sit in it and learn more of its residents. Its really fun too to find out how the ghosts lives are intertwined and really builds on the sense of community. This story takes on the air of a murder mystery, which is possibly why I enjoyed it a little more. I look forward to reading more from this series in the future, there's so many possibilities!
