This novella was different in the best way. I really enjoyed how this book portrayed vulnerability, and self exploration/self-discovery. It showed that you can't truly love something/someone until you love yourself and that is such a beautiful underlying meaning. I loved that this ended in an HEA and it completely left me wanting more.

I absolutely loved this short n spicy novella! It was a fast paced, easy read that captivates you from the beginning. The premise was so interesting and different. I felt frustrated, aroused,& shut down right alongside the characters. I would love for something like this to be a full length novel, but honestly as a novella its easy to fill in the gaps of the "more" i was wanting, & the more of not wanting it to end! Well done!

Hold Me For Now by Lexi Davis wasn’t at all what I expected going in—but sometimes the best reads are the ones that catch you off guard. I went in thinking it would follow a more familiar romance path, but the story took a different direction than I anticipated. That said, I still found myself drawn in and genuinely enjoying the ride.

Lexi Davis brings emotional depth and a softness to the characters that sneaks up on you, and before I knew it, I was invested. It’s one of those stories that makes you sit with the feelings a bit longer than you expected to—and I mean that in the best way.

If you’re open to being surprised and don’t mind a detour from the usual, this one might just hold you in the right places too.

This novella was quick but spicy. 10/10 read I want more of their story. It was quick to suck me in and have me wanting to know if they will get what they want in the end. Of course the answer is given in the end!

I loved this book! Kristi relates to me so much. And the one think I personally love about contemporary books is that they make you feel seen. Thank you Lexi Davis and netgally for letting me read it.

Emotional, messy, and full of heat. I just wanted more of it.

Hold Me For Now had me hooked from the first page. I was expecting tension and spice, and it definitely delivered, but it also surprised me with how tender it was. Kristi and T are both dealing with their own pain, and watching them slowly figure each other out was emotional in a way I didn’t expect.

Their connection felt real. The way they started to open up, the push and pull, the way just a look or touch carried weight, it all worked. And the chemistry? So good. The banter made me smile, the steamy scenes were intense, and the vulnerability underneath gave the story a lot of heart.

If I had one complaint, it’s that I wish it had been longer. I would have loved more time to sit with their healing and their relationship. The ending was satisfying, but I didn’t want to say goodbye to these characters so soon.

Overall, it’s a quick, powerful read that hits all the right emotional beats. Definitely one for readers who love forced proximity, wounded characters, and romance that hurts a little in the best way. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the chance to read it.

This isn’t smut, this is a book about the pressures of human intimacy and connection. What if all you do is give, give, give that you forget to receive… receive love from yourself.
It was very refreshing to read about not only male performance issues but also women.
Lexi shine a light on both in this dark romance. No names, just sheets and a doctor to help with your desires. Short read but so much is felt and explored in these 67 pages

I really wanted to enjoy this, but I didn’t. I think my issue with it was the kind of instalove trope, not the writing or the story itself.

The writing was good, I liked the characters and all the descriptions. I also think the concept of the book is really unique, but it just fell a little flat for me. It felt incredibly too short. I think this would be a really cool book if it was significantly longer, had more of a build-up to the romance, and a little more of the banter between the characters.

I really loved this! The spice was descriptive and perfect. I’ve never read anything like it and wasn’t sure what to expect but I honestly loved every second of this novella. And that ending?! Swoooon!

This powerful, spice-filled (I’d give it a 4/5 🔥) strangers-to-lovers story centers around two people—K, our FMC, and T, our MMC—who meet in a clinical intimacy retreat designed to help individuals work through physical and emotional blocks around sex. Both arrive as strangers, each carrying their own wounds, and what unfolds is an intimate, emotional journey of self-love, vulnerability, and connection. I’ve honestly never read anything like this.

The growth these characters experience, both individually and together, was beautifully written. The way Lexi Davis explores the intersection of self-worth and intimacy is raw, honest, and incredibly refreshing. It’s creative, deeply personal, and somehow universal all at once.

I also appreciated the thoughtful inclusion of trigger warnings at the beginning of the book—handled with care and intention.

This is the kind of story that lingers with you. I’ll definitely be reading more from Lexi Davis. Hold Me for Now was truly something special.

Hold Me for Now by Lexi Davis is a phenomenal little novella — and I absolutely loved it.

How does Lexi Davis manage to write books that are so spicy they leave you blushing, but also so emotional they bring you to tears? It’s a magic combo, and she nails it every time.

Yes, the spice is HOT (seriously, really hot), but it’s wrapped up in heartwarming, tender moments that hit you right in the feels. I teared up more than once.

I’m officially obsessed with her writing, I’m reading everything she puts out, and you should too.

Go read this spicy little novella — it’s a perfect, emotional, steamy short read!

This was quick and fun an all around good read. I was expecting something a little darker based on the blurb and the set up, but it ended up being a sweet little novella. I liked that it showed real sexual frustrations, but I did roll my eyes (and deduct the one star) for the "lesson" being that "we just needed love!"

I did really enjoy the wrap up and how the author approached their differing past experiences. All around good read!

It’s a short, fast-paced story that genuinely surprised me with how well Lexi combined spice, deep emotions, and heartwarming moments. I thoroughly enjoyed both the steamy scenes and the tender, sweet parts alot!!

Thank you to NetGalley and Lexi Davis for the ARC!

This was a fast-paced, steamy read that I devoured in one go. Beyond the heat, it carried a surprising emotional depth, following the journey of two damaged souls finding healing in each other.

Despite its brevity, the characters felt incredibly real—proof of Lexi's powerful storytelling. I connected with them almost instantly, found them utterly endearing, and was wholeheartedly cheering for their happy ending.

I’d jump at the chance to read a full-length novel exploring more of T and K’s life together!

As a side note, I don't know if I have just read some really dark stuff, but I wouldn't class this as a dark romance...

This novella was definitely a departure from my usual reads. Marketed as a dark romance, it starts with a bit of suspense, but I wouldn’t truly call it dark—more so different and emotionally intense in unexpected ways.

The spice level was there, but the emotional payoff wasn’t quite as satisfying as I hoped. The central idea—that love and connection are essential for pleasure—emerges late in the story, and it felt a bit sudden. That shift, combined with the ending, left me more heartbroken than fulfilled. It’s as if the story was meant to be a quick exploration of intimacy without strings, but then tried to pivot toward something deeper without fully developing the emotional arc.

Overall, it was a fast and different read, but not one I would revisit or recommend. It simply didn’t click for me.

This was an interesting take on therapy methods for people who have personal intimacy issues. Two strangers in a room with a bed and a therapist on the other side of an observation window who gives directions for them to perform. What takes place is a writing exercise in how to describe several different acts, during which communication and self-realization becomes evident. The results end up being life changing for both participants.

A lot of emotion packed into such a short novella! Even without knowing the characters’ full backstories and personalities, you quickly get absorbed into their emotional thought processes. I had a few tears toward the end as the author did an excellent job of showing vulnerability among both characters.

That being said, the premise of the book was…odd. The person watching and coaching seemed incredibly awkward not just for the characters, but for the reader as well. The spice level was mediocre, but it was passionate and sweet. Overall, I commend the author for the ability to make readers so emotionally invested in such a short book. Thanks to NetGalley and the author for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Absolutely ate this up! Short and spicy good time that I really wasn’t expecting to fall in love with! I loved Trevor and Kristi. The premise was something I haven’t read before but I’m surprised to say that it was done to perfection.
I will totally read more from Lexi Davis!
