I liked this book and I found it interesting. It was an easy read. I liked the storyline it was a unique scenario to read about. I wish there had more backstory to the characters. I feel like I would have had a better connection to the characters and their struggles if I knew them better. I love how the story ends on the importance of self-love. I think the story sends a great message about the importance of communication in relationships and remembering to love yourself. I want to give this 4 stars but I just feel like it needs a little more.

In this book the characters both have an issue with climaxing during sex. And they both have succumbed to signing up for this "sex therapy" that helps them finally figure out how to orgasm during sex. The topic seems very weird and direct, but the characters are appealing and you end up rooting for both of them and can see the trauma they both have dealt with as they interact with each other. It definitely feels like what an independent film would be like when read, but it dose very much draw you in. I enjoyed the book, and it's a quick read so you don't lose much time if you're not into it.

This was a good novella. Nice quick read. The concept of the story was interesting, I haven’t read anything like it yet. Just hold me for now.

I don’t know how I feel about this book. I’m not typically someone who likes novellas because it’s hard for me to feel any sort of connection with the characters with so little to go off of but there was a lot of emotion between these two. I was immediately intrigued and given that it’s such a short and fast read I knew I’d finish it quickly. Two strangers come together to fix an issue they both have in the most unconventional way. I don’t think their of them expected it to work and I don’t think either one of them thought they’d come out the other side with so much newfound realization about themselves and their lives. The deeper meaning behind the story was beautiful, loving yourself first is so important and being able to openly communicate is one of the most important parts of being in a relationship. It was predicable as far as Trevor getting divorced and ending up back magically in the same place as Kristi, I definitely would read more about their developing relationship after they did the work on themselves and came back together. This book was cringey at times and the unusual way they fixed their issue was a little frightening but overall it wasn’t a bad read. I enjoyed the writing style and I would definitely read more from Lexi Davis!

3.5⭐️

Thank you NetGalley & Lexi Davis for gifting me with the opportunity to give an honest and unfiltered review of Hold Me For Now, let’s fucking dive in shall we

You’re about to walk out that door and take something from me that I can’t name but know I’ll never get back.

Have you ever played Would You Rather? Because theres always that one person who takes it too far and hits you with “Would you rather watch your parents have sex or have a complete stranger watch you have sex?” Yeah… this book was that moment. And Dr. D? He was that stranger.

This was an interesting read. Not something I’d usually go looking for, but I’ve gotta say, the story was pretty good. T and K were both on their own little “fix me” missions, trying to sort out what they thought was broken inside themselves. And then there’s the elusive Dr. D coaching them through it, pushing them to go deep (pun totally intended) and actually connect. With themselves and each other…. And weirdly.. I didn’t hate it. In fact, I kind of vibed with the whole idea. Like, on a literal, chemical level, sex makes people say and feel all kinds of wild shit in the moment, so honestly? It wasn’t as cringy as I expected it to be.

It’s under 100 pages, so don’t show up expecting some intense, soul searching character development. You’re not getting full backstories, trauma dumps and epic side quests. Hold Me For Now was more about emotional connection and healing in a weird, sexy little package. And for that? I can’t really fault it.

This was unexpected! I enjoyed the concept and the small moments of growth, especially for such a short story! The ending was great and I appreciated how invested I got for such a quick read.

📚Hold Me For Now📚
Arc review
Rating 4🌟
Release date: 20th May 2025
This book is only 88 pages full of spice, but it also has the emotional vulnerability mix into it as well. I like how Trevor & Kristi battle through their issues together. Shows us the importance of being with someone we truly trust and have a genuine connection, and you can self grow as well. I need a full book about their story together now 😅

was i OK before this book. well, i dont know. id simply say i couldn't have been because this book changed something in me whether i was conscious of just what it was or not! i couldn't have been OK before this book for the simply reason i hadn't read it. there enough said. review over? i jest...kind of. because i adored this book. Lexi managed to make me giddy romance smile, blush a bit, feel a bit shy. but also wrenched my heart out too. how? ive no idea you will have to ask Lexi what her magic secret is.
this is a very short book so i read it far too quickly. it worked for what it was but i would also have devoured if it was longer too because i didn't want it to end.
its full of vulnerability. its full of heart. its full of being there for yourself but also for another. and its of course about love. its a precious book. and because its so short it feels all the more special. its a definite moment in time where you just feel. you just feel.
read this book it will change your moment. right there it will change your moment.

This was a very unique story and I've never read anything quite like this before. It was such a quick read and I throughly enjoyed it. K and T come together for an experiment to help fill the void they are missing and I think the ending is exactly what everyone wanted. This novella showed the characters experiencing deeply emotional moments. I feel there wasn't much time to outline and describe the characters and what they are going through, beyond just the surface. I believe this would have gained a higher rating from me if it were to have been a bit longer. Overall, I do believe this is a good read and recommend if you're looking for a quick and easy read! Thank you so much Lexi for the ARC!

I was able to read this book because of NetGalley. The first thing that pulled me was the title and then the blurb. I have never read anything from this author before and I love discovering new authors.
It was a short, quick read. It was very enticing and kept me on the edge of my seat. Just when I thought finally it was happening, it all stopped haha Lexi you edged your reader - pun intended.
I really enjoyed the topic and more so the message within. It all comes down to love. For yourself.
Characters were relatable, just when I felt it was getting a little corny, the story switched up and felt more real.
Also, made me miss New York! Thank you for letting me read this story. I recommend it. Specially for a palate cleanser and a quick fun read. The spice was spicing 😆

This novella was different in the best way. I really enjoyed how this book portrayed vulnerability, and self exploration/self-discovery. It showed that you can't truly love something/someone until you love yourself and that is such a beautiful underlying meaning. I loved that this ended in an HEA and it completely left me wanting more.

I absolutely loved this short n spicy novella! It was a fast paced, easy read that captivates you from the beginning. The premise was so interesting and different. I felt frustrated, aroused,& shut down right alongside the characters. I would love for something like this to be a full length novel, but honestly as a novella its easy to fill in the gaps of the "more" i was wanting, & the more of not wanting it to end! Well done!

Hold Me For Now by Lexi Davis wasn’t at all what I expected going in—but sometimes the best reads are the ones that catch you off guard. I went in thinking it would follow a more familiar romance path, but the story took a different direction than I anticipated. That said, I still found myself drawn in and genuinely enjoying the ride.

Lexi Davis brings emotional depth and a softness to the characters that sneaks up on you, and before I knew it, I was invested. It’s one of those stories that makes you sit with the feelings a bit longer than you expected to—and I mean that in the best way.

If you’re open to being surprised and don’t mind a detour from the usual, this one might just hold you in the right places too.

This novella was quick but spicy. 10/10 read I want more of their story. It was quick to suck me in and have me wanting to know if they will get what they want in the end. Of course the answer is given in the end!

Emotional, messy, and full of heat. I just wanted more of it.

Hold Me For Now had me hooked from the first page. I was expecting tension and spice, and it definitely delivered, but it also surprised me with how tender it was. Kristi and T are both dealing with their own pain, and watching them slowly figure each other out was emotional in a way I didn’t expect.

Their connection felt real. The way they started to open up, the push and pull, the way just a look or touch carried weight, it all worked. And the chemistry? So good. The banter made me smile, the steamy scenes were intense, and the vulnerability underneath gave the story a lot of heart.

If I had one complaint, it’s that I wish it had been longer. I would have loved more time to sit with their healing and their relationship. The ending was satisfying, but I didn’t want to say goodbye to these characters so soon.

Overall, it’s a quick, powerful read that hits all the right emotional beats. Definitely one for readers who love forced proximity, wounded characters, and romance that hurts a little in the best way. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the chance to read it.

This isn’t smut, this is a book about the pressures of human intimacy and connection. What if all you do is give, give, give that you forget to receive… receive love from yourself.
It was very refreshing to read about not only male performance issues but also women.
Lexi shine a light on both in this dark romance. No names, just sheets and a doctor to help with your desires. Short read but so much is felt and explored in these 67 pages
