Wow! I loved this it was a wild ride that had me gripped and I didn't want to put it down. This was a twisty thriller about obsession and how dangerous it can be. Jane was such an interesting character she was delusional and obsessive and watching her spiral over Colin was fascinating the lengths she'd go to be in his life was terrifying. This has a shocking twist in the end that I wasn't expecting. I highly recommend.

After a few dates with Colin, he gives her the brush off. That’s when Jane decides to move on, and meet dates at Colin’s favourite place in order to win him back and change his mind..
So far, so not moving on a bit. Due to a huge mistake on Colin’s part, Jane is introduced to his new girlfriend Zoe as a friend from college. From there she’s invited to events.
Jane’s fixation on Colin becomes easier with her friendship with Zoe, or so you might think.
This book had a great plot but in the end it twisted it itself in so many knots it cut off the blood supply. Some of the twists in this book actually make no sense- read that again because I mean it, it’s not a lack of comprehension, it’s honestly just not got a thread of sense in it.
I also struggled with the characters, I don’t mind reading a dislikable characters thoughts at all, some of the best books are like that, but here there was nothing to keep you reading for long periods, this book needed grounding at times and there wasn’t a tiny bit available.
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for this eArc that was given in return for an honest review.

Jane needs help; she is totally obsessed with Colin after only six dates, and knows that He Is The One. Unfortunately, he doesn't agree... after that sixth date when they take their relationship to the next level, he breaks up with her.
But Jane is nothing if not determined. Because she knows they're made for each other, she keeps going on new dates in the hope that he'll see her and how 'well' she's doing. This will - of course - make him realise their Soul Mate status. Eventually, they do meet again - funny how small a world New York is - and Jane unexpectedly makes friends with his new girlfriend, Zoe. Zoe is an affluent influencer, with a suspiciously scanty internet trail before she arrives in New York. She seems to have it all together; she seems pretty confident in herself and her relationship with Colin. But, even so, she latches onto Jane, and invites her into her life - which means seeing more of Colin. All going according to plan... Jane just needs to get Colin to see that Zoe is all wrong for him, and switch back to her. Should be easy, right?
After about halfway through, things take a rather twisted turn - as I think any discerning reader would expect ;)
This book wasn't for me, for two key reasons:
1) I literally didn't care about ANY of the characters because I didn't believe in them. I've read other reviewers who thought Jane's stalker-ish tendencies were very realistic, but I just didn't buy her... or any of the other characters. Even when we learn about their real motives later, none of them rang true for me.
2) It was so MESSY. Multiple times in the twisted second half, there were parts that literally MADE NO SENSE. Not just in terms of characterisation, but in terms of How Things Work In The World. (For example, police involvement unless things are very different in the US!) I couldn't keep up any kind of suspension of disbelief, and the whole book just irritated me start to finish!
I feel mean giving it one star because it isn't as terrible as the last book I gave one star to... but this is a generous two stars. Not for me, I'm afraid!
Massive thanks to NetGalley and Quercus books for the e-arc. All thoughts and opinions are my own - don't disregard a book because of one negative review! This might be the perfect book for you; by all means, give it a try :) It's a quick read at least - I got it down in a couple of sittings.

Thanks to Netgallery for this ARC
This review might be a little spoilery.
This was a great mystery thriller, honestly didn't know what to expect while reading about Jane and her obvious obsession with Colin a man who broke up with her two months ago and she was still thinking of him and having tinder dates at the bar she knew he frequents just so he would see her and maybe be jealous, this of course leads to her seeing him on a date with Zoe, she ends up finding her tiktok and cyber stalks her a little in trying to find out why Colin is with her when he so meant be with her. A lie by Colin about who Jane is gives her a chance to meet Zoe properly and she finds her to nice funny and gets friendly with her even though she is trying to get Colin, but things get complicated when she ends up hooking up with his roommate but also Colin is get harassed by someone about something in his past. Jane in trying to get Colin find some things that make her wonder if she knew him.
This was such a great and gripping read, I love mysteries and thrillers and this was a excellent one. Honestly the theme of obsession also way the play Hamlet and the relationship of Ophelia and Hamlet mirrored Jane and Colin's. The Obsession Jane has for Colin seems so all encompassing and she does a lot of shady things to achieve her goal but is also torn and she does find herself liking Zoe but rationalizes that what she doing is right if she gets Colin and Zoe will forgive her and still be her friend. But a Murder and some other stuff shatter her dreams. I also was surprised by the ending but love this book and definitely read more from this author and also buy this in audiobook form.

Well, this was a lot of fun!
I am a sucker for a great cover, tagline and a NYC setting, but sometimes the book doesn't live up to the hype. So I am so glad to say to say that I really enjoyed this book!
Right from the start I enjoyed this. I liked the characters, the pacing and I really liked the writing style.
One thing that was a big plus for me was that we only get Jane's POV in the story. A lot of books have too many characters and their POV and it can be difficult to keep it all straight in my mind. This book really hit the sweet spot of only having one POV and really not needing any other characters opinion.
I found the relationship between the characters intriguing and I was fully invested in them and the story throughout.
This wasn't quite a 5 star read for me as I did figure out the twists pretty early on, so there were no surprises for me.
This was a fun, unhinged read that I highly recommend.

This was a fast-paced and addictive read that kept me guessing. Jane's story pulled me in with its twists and dark humour, making it impossible to put down.

So Happy Together was a wild, dark, and addictive read.
I was instantly drawn in by the cover, it’s eye catching and made me curious about what kind of story it would hold. What I got was a twisty psychological thriller that kept me hooked from beginning to end.
Jane is a complex character. Her obsession with Colin after just a few dates quickly turns unsettling, but also sad. You can tell she’s deeply unwell, and watching her spiral was like witnessing a slow-burning disaster you can’t look away from.
The story takes some unexpected turns once Jane discovers something shocking in Colin’s apartment. From there, the tension builds fast, and the characters become even more complicated. No one is who they seem, and that kept the suspense going strong.
If you enjoy thrillers with messy relationships, dark secrets, and an unreliable narrator, this one is definitely worth the read.
Very grateful to the publisher for my copy through NetGalley, opinions are my own

I liked that this book starts off feeling familiar—modern dating struggles, heartbreak, obsession—but then takes a sharp, chilling turn you don’t see coming. What I loved most was how the story slowly shifted from a relatable search for love into something far darker and more disturbing. It made me feel unsettled in the best way, like I was being pulled deeper into a psychological maze I couldn’t escape. The characters are deeply flawed, and watching their tangled relationships spiral out of control was completely gripping. Every twist landed hard, and by the end, I was honestly stunned.

Jane is convinced that she and Colin are soulmates. And even after he breaks up with her, she remains convinced of that. All that remains is the small matter of convincing *him*!
Except that Colin is now dating the eminently suitable Zoe. But faint heart never won fair man (or something of that kind), so Jane isn't giving up so easily.
The thing is, although Jane is seriously delusional, the other characters in this story are not quite what they seem either. So strap in for a rough ride!
This was entertaining, and gets 3.5 stars. Worth checking out if you like the genre.

I was hoping for a dark thriller, sadly this was not the case.
Some twists here and there but not my thing.
I am sure it will appeal to many but it was not what i expected.
My thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my copy.

Well this was a crazy time. I love how provocative this was with the back and forth he said she said motif. The way every story had you questioning whose sense of “good” is the right one.
I am a big fan of feminine rage and st*bby FMCs in fantasy books and have recently started reading them in a contemporary setting and am loving them.
Jane was an unexpected main character. To put it bluntly she’s quite delusional. The way she created a parasocial relationship with a man she’d actually dated prior was insane. How far she was willing to go to mentally convince herself that Colin was the be all and end all would’ve had me checking her into a psych facility involuntarily.
Zoe was a highlight in this story. She was the perfect girlfriend, best friend and influencer. What she put herself through just to sell her version of events was perfection. I was so unassuming about her- just like everyone else.
I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the shoe to drop. I absolutely loved the ending. What is Jane going to do? She needs motivation to convince herself she’s capable of being a “good” person but what happens when her sense of “good” has been manipulated so much?!
Thank you so much to Quercus books and NetGalley for the eARC of this book. This is my honest opinion.

Thank you to NetGalley and Quercus Books for this ARC.
Jane, 24 is a playwright in New York. She is also delusional. A few months ago she had a few dates with Colin, also 24, a software engineer, who quickly dumped her saying he couldn't handle anything too serious. Then he promptly got with new girlfriend Zoe. But Jane is not deterred. He just knows that Colin loves her and sets out to win him back.
She starts by stalking Colin and Zoe in coffee shops, then hooking up with Colin's flatmate Ben. Colin is not amused but Zoe turns out to be lovely - smart, cheerful, kind and absolutely eager to make Jane, who she's been told is a collage friend of Colin's, her new best friend. Then Jane gets more than she bargained for when she finds a bloody knife in Colin's room. What has he done? Has she got this sweet boy all wrong? The way Jane still makes constant excuses for Colin is nothing short of unhinged but what is the reason for her behaviour?
The thing that throws you about this story is that we think it's about a crazy, obsessive ex-girlfriend but it's really about toxic men and the damage they do, both physically and mentally, and how women react to it and what it drives them to. Colin, Jane and Zoe are all a lot more messed up than we originally think. With Jane it stems from her childhood with her father and with Zoe it stems from Colin and what he did to her best friend Leigh years ago.
Is Zoe telling the truth though? Is Colin a murderer? They are all manipulative to an extent and only when the action speeds up in the last third of the book do we begin to unravel what's what. There are twists and turns aplenty, up to and including the epilogue.
It's not the story I expected to read but it's a necessary book about toxic relationships, gaslighting and coercive control. It's probably best if you know Ophelia's story because not only is it constantly referenced (Jane writes a play about her) but there are strong similarities in her fate and the women in this story.
This is a compelling thriller that I read in one go and recommend to anyone who is interested in manipulative relationships, morally grey characters and a modern look at Ophelia.

Jane was heartbroken when Colin dumped her, so on a long and convoluted plan to win him back, she begins to stalk him and his current girlfriend, Zoe.
I was hoping this would be an edgy thriller, or a dark comedy, but it managed to be neither. I disliked all of the characters, and although some of the twists were good, the overall plot meandered and left me not sure whether I was even interested.
I received a copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review

when i first saw the title of this book i thought it was a romcom! and then there was another cover which still had me thinking it might be. haha wrooooong. im glad i got the genre directive before i delved in.
this girl needs therapy. end of. she was a mess. but a poorly kind of mess so i wasnt hating her just feeling terribly sad how she just went on a spiral. i dont think this was even about Colin. Colin and her obsessions was her symptoms of her needing much more help than a perfect date and boyfriend is going t fix.
but she does meet Colin. and Colin then ends things after just 6 dates. but this cant be true. because they are perfect for each other. so this starts and obsession to show him they are. but Jane then sees him with another woman. who is of course perfect. and then one thing lead to another which lead Jane to Colins place and stumbling across something that she could never have foreseen. something dark. something that ties her into a much darker web.
this book was full of that chaotic messy twisty thriller. you arent sure quite where its going but that tension and anxious build up continues as the book plays out.
i wont give to much away as those deserve a first read gasp all of your own.
