Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARc!
This is such a sweet and spicy romance between two musicians in ‘rival’ bands. I adored the chemistry between them and build up from friendship into romance through their music and interactions with each other. I totally missed the adult content warning so the spice was a pleasant surprise. It’s beautifully drawn and laid out and is an all around delight to read.

Thank you so much, NetGalley and the publisher, for allowing me the opportunity to read this comic, in exchange for my honest review!
I’m not gonna give away any plot spoilers, I’m just gonna say that it’s about two musician who love each other.. It was an incredibly cute story with cute art, that left me craving more.

Shout Loud, My Heart by Youga Rayri is a BL manga that attempts to blend a rivals-to-lovers romance with a vibrant music scene. The plot centers on two college musicians: Gen, the quiet guitarist of a rock band, and Mike, the charismatic lead singer of a rival group. Their love story begins with mutual professional admiration—Gen for Mike's singing and Mike for Gen's guitar playing. This artistic connection slowly evolves into a deeper attraction as they discover they attend the same college. The story uses their music as a metaphor for their growing feelings, with their desire to perform together mirroring their longing for each other. A brief misunderstanding adds a touch of conflict before the climax at a battle of the bands, ultimately leading to their happy resolution as a couple.
While the art is a significant strength of the manga, clean, expressive, and dynamic, the romance itself unfolds at an exceptionally slow pace, which can test the patience of readers. The story's focus on the gentle build-up of feelings over tangible events means that the narrative can feel sluggish. Additionally, the characters' reactions to their burgeoning love sometimes feel unnatural, making it difficult to fully connect with their emotional journey. The manga is also quite wholesome, and readers seeking a spicier, more explicit Boys' Love story may find it lacking. Ultimately, Shout Loud, My Heart is a visually pleasing but deliberately paced romance that may appeal to fans of low-drama, sweet stories, but it left this reviewer wishing for a little more intensity.

DNF at 10% The moment there was just scolding and snapping for the sake of establishing a grumpy x sunshine kind of romance, I was out. There was no reason to be that angry, or to tolerate it and still play it cool. It felt toxic, forced, and fake.

Thank you netgalley and Kodansha Comics for giving me the opportunity to read the arc for this book!! I love stories with bands/musicians soooo much, so this really hit home for me. Even though this was a short comic the pacing was great, and I loved Mika and Gen's story & romance.

I loved the artwork and the characters, the setting for the romance was very original, I've never read before a romance story between the singer and the guitarist of different bands. I wasn't expecting it to be so spicy.
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the arc!

Shout Loud, My Heart is extremely cute! I love fictional band members so this was a total hit with me. I thought the relationship was really sweet and avoided any of the ickiness that sometimes the BL genre can rely on. My only complaint was that it was SO short! I wish the tension between the two love interests could have had a little more time to brew, but once feelings were declared it was all wham, bam, thank you ma'am. More than that, I thought there was a lot of room for the friendships to be explored too. I think it missed out on a few opportunities to discuss rivalry/fame/relationship tension, but at the end of the day this was a fluffy read with low (to no) angst so I'll meet it where it's at. All in all a super quick and sweet romance to lift up your day.

this was so cute!!! i love mangas about bands and music beacuse they always convey the character's love for it so beautifully. even without hearing the music, you can feel it through their emotions. and the way it ties down with the character's feelings to each other is even mroe beautiful.
the story is really fluffy, without unnecessary drama, and having a slikce-of-life feel to it. it follows a bass guitarist and a vocalist from two different bands (one is called Eve and another one is Adama hehe). i love how first they become friends, become natural with each other and then it developes into something bigger.
visually, the manga is pretty as well. all the characters' designs are really fun and unique. it's like a manifestation of their personality, making the story even more enjoyable.

shout loud my heart is a charming contemporary band romance with a grumpy sunshine relationship.
the art style is accessible and it’s an easy, sweet read for people who like bl stories.
in my opinion it could’ve benefited from a slowed down pacing, and there were parts where things were phrased in confusing ways.
also just in case that’s a win or lose for someone: there’s one sex scene. do with that information what you will.
i imagine over all it delivers on what’s expected.

Two band members from rival bands start talking and getting to know each other. They attend the same college and quickly realize they admire each other’s musical talent—both the way they play and sing. This is a slow-burn love story filled with music, collaboration, and a few heartfelt misunderstandings along the way. It's a sweet and emotional journey of connection through shared passion.

Shout Loud, My Heart by Youga Rayri is a passionate and sweet BL one-shot that hits the spot. Gen, a quiet college student and guitarist, isn't looking for anything serious until he meets Mike, a soft-spoken, confident guy whose voice alone is enough to make Gen's heart skip a beat. Their connection is instant, and as they keep running into each other, what begins as a casual attraction slowly turns into something deeper and harder to ignore.
The story may be short, but it packs a punch. The chemistry between Gen and Mike is electric, and the art enhances every glance, every touch, in a way that feels intimate and real. It's sexy, yes, but there's an underlying tenderness that makes it even more satisfying. If you like BL with the perfect blend of passion and heart, this one is definitely worth a read.

I was desperately on the hunt for a swoony and rocking BL one-shot and Shout Loud, My Heart is exactly what I was looking for! This manga follows the love story between Gen, the guitarist of popular college band Eve, and Mike, the dreamy and favored lead singer of Adam. With beautiful art, a great black cat/golden retriever relationship, and such a great depiction of what it means to fall in love with someone as they play their music, I highly recommend this manga!

Thanks to Net Galley and Kodansha for the ARC.
This is a cute one shot about two boys in two different bands finding each other. Gen plays guitar for a band, while Mika, or Mike, sings in another. Mike is a fan of Gen, and Gen falls pretty hard for Mike once he hears him sing. They meet and realize they go to the same college, so they start spending time together and things blossom from there.
I think this would have been great as a 2-3 volume series to really flesh out the characters and relationship, but it works well enough here. It's a fairly surface level story since it is just one volume, but the characters are likable and the relationship is sweet.

This was a perfectly adequate BL manga; that's the only way I know how to put it, honestly. It was entertaining, but it didn't offer anything new to the genre.

Shout loud, my heart was such a sweet little BL. I love the character so much. And the drawing was phenomenal. I especially like when they do the facial expressions and you see all their emotions. And I love the fact when they stare at each other, you can just tell that they light up each other‘s world. Gen and Mika both gravity towards each other. They are opposites because they are grumpy sunshine. And I like the fact that Gen is open and honest about what he wants to the people that he’s close to. Also, how he tells his emotions through music. And I like Mika because he’s such a sweet generous person. And I like the way that he fell for Gen. Because you can tell just how much these to care about each other. When they’re with each other, especially when they’re on stage singing music. Overall, I really did enjoy the story very much and I love the little bonus chapters at the end.

-music, BL
- couple pages toward the end with spicy scenes
For a music related manga, I actually liked it. When music is involved sometimes it's hard to potray in draws/words alone but for me this was a better one.
Knowing it was a Oneshot, I knew the story would move along quickly. Although I do wish there was a bit more development for Gen & Mika and it not coming off as the sole reason why they like each other is because of how they sing/play. But as it progresses you can see that what starts as that starts to move toward more of a romantic feeling of wanting to be with each other -although there is that awkward moment in-between of them focusing on the battle before they let the music speak for how they feel toward the other.
The art really draws you in with the characters at times

This was a cute one-shot for what it was. I liked the dynamic between Mika and Gen and was overall invested in their relationship for the entire time. I liked the side characters/the other band members. Their conversations and banter felt very real and normal, which made them easy to relate to and enjoy. Overall, this was a quick and easy read that works well to pass the time while still keeping me invested and entertained.

Shout Loud, My Heart was a wonderful one-shot that was both cozy and full of plenty of spice. It was nice to read something that was all incapsulated, the perfect amount of story and while I would enjoy more it was perfect the way it was. I've been on a big music related manga kick since the green yuri manga came out, so it was nice to see a BL as that's what I normally read.

Thank you Kodansha USA, and Netgalley for an E-Arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this story about to musicians falling in love firstly with each other talents and then with each other. I love that can clearly see in the illustrations that they both are enamored with each others talent. I also loved that the characters where in there 20s and in university. It showed them chasing their dream while also living a normal life in university and at their day jobs. The illustrations were so good. I definitely recommend this to any mature BL lovers.
