This was a dark and atmospheric read with twists that kept me guessing all the way through and I was left for most of the book not knowing what to think or who to believe.

a great female main character who is easy to endear to from the off in this smart and completely readable book. i sped through this book far too easily and didnt want o put it down. the twist i didn't see coming and that getting harder to do with such pizzazz as it did in this book. the chapters are written in a way you definitely find yourself one more chaptering over and over again.
Mackenzie has a famous mum. shes famed for her thrillers. but then Mackenzie's mother dies in an accident and weird notes start arriving for her revealing parts of her mothers story that leave her flawed. there was far more going on than she ever thought possible but just what does this mean about ehr mothers death and what these notes mean?
this book was so much fun to read and i had to keep going until the end. the characters all came to life off the page and the depth to them made e even more invested in the book and where it would go.
i cant wait to see who didn't see the twist coming or when it would come and stop you in your tracks. and i love how some of the twists we could figure out which made us sit with a false sense of smugness that we were guessing and figuring out what was coming. because then boom we get one left field.
i liked the way this book wrapped things up for me. and it felt all truly satisfying.

Mackenzie has always lived in the shadow of her famous Mum, an author of dark thriller stories. When her Mum dies suddenly a whole can of worms is opened up and everything that she thought she knew to be true is tipped on its head.
This dark story kept me guessing until the end. A great twist and some well developed characters.

4.5 Stars

Thank you to Netgalley and Publisher for this Ebook ARC in return for an honest review.

This gripped me from the start to finish.

Mackenzie started receiving letters from her Mom, however her Mom has just passed away. Mackenzie isn't sure who is posting her these letters, and what her Mom is saying in these letters is making Mackenzie questions everything she actually knew about her.

The way this is written *chefs kiss* part one pulled me in and I needed to know what happened to her mother and her past.

Part 2 is where i started to guess the plot a little bit however, the ending another plot twist got thrown in.

Overall really enjoyed this book.

Thank you to #NetGalley and #Penguin for my copy of Love, Mom by Iliana Xander.
Elisabeth Casper the famous author is dead, leaving behind her devoted husband and daughter Mackenzie.
But was it an accident? Investigators are still looking into things.
Then the letters start arriving!
A gripping read that kept me engrossed all the way through. Lots of twists and turns, good characters and a great lead in Mackenzie.
I would recommend this book.

Loved it! Good story line with enough twists to keep everyone happy and wanting to read on. Finished on a high! Mackenzie is a great character, strong and independent but with a bit of vulnerability. Her relationship with EJ is a nice background story. Overall, a good read and recommended.

A thriller aimed at a younger readership than me I think, almost ya. I can see the appeal, just wasn't for me

The story follows McKenzie who receives mysterious letters following the death of her famous author mum. As she uncovers the truth about who her mother really was and the horrific back-story, we’re taken on a wild ride where secret after secret is peeled back, and the consequences of actions taken twenty years earlier are played out in full. This is a clever book, full of twists and will certainly keep you on your toes.

Thank you to Iliana Xander, Penguin and Netgalley for my advance copy.

I loved this book, written very well. I didnt see ANY of the twists coming at all and the ending, well let's just say it was a jaw dropper

The writing itself feels amateurish and incomplete.
In the early parts of this novel, the syntax is confusing. It seems one sentence blends into another making it difficult to comprehend the meaning.
There is some inconsistencies in the minor details such as differences in ages.
Shifting character point of views is always a difficult task and unfortunately I found that the majority of characters didn’t narrate wildly differently and therefore found it hard to differentiate without checking back.
Also noted that the word ‘stupid’ is repeated several times!

The main twist comes halfway through the book which then leaves little for imagination. The twist itself is an overused trope that you can see coming from a distance.

I would say this isn’t a book for seasoned readers who like a good psychological mystery.

Thank you to NetGalley and publisher for the ARC.

Written over three parts, with multiple POV’s, letters and a dual timeline, this book is captivating from the first page, the intensity of the prologue grabbed my attention and it wouldn’t let me go! A fast paced, flawless thriller, gripping you with every twist and turn, and just when you think it’s all tied up neatly, another twist was thrown in, one that I did have my suspicions about but it didn’t lessen the shock factor!!
I enjoyed the subtle romance in the background and a part close to the end did give me goosebumps. High praise for this book, deserving of all the star! Can’t wait to read Man Of The Year!

Oh boy did i enjoy this book!

It gripped me from the very beginning, whilst I guessed one of the twists I certainly wasnt expecting the others. At first I was quite surprised that the twists was revealed half way through the story but I was very very wrong that was only the tip of the iceberg. A mixture of loveable and despicable characters but written very well.

Thank you

Loved this book, it had me gripped from start to end-a thriller with a difference. The main character is very likeable and I enjoyed being there with her through the unfolding and intriguing story. The various other characters are well portrayed and easy to imagine. I thoroughly recommend.
My thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to review and to the author for an excellent story.

Wow!! This was a brilliant read, I just couldn’t put it down. I had so many theories while reading this the twists were twisting that’s for sure!! I kind of guessed the main twist by chapter 60 but that didn’t stop me from loving the rest of the twists that were so unexpected in this book. Mackenzie finding out all her families secrets must have been so heartbreaking but so amazing too. Her and EJs relationship was just 🥹
I couldn’t stand her grandma from the minute she entered the book.. Tonya I felt a little sorry for at the very beginning but that soon changed drastically and as for her dad well he was just a complete tosser! I’m so glad Mackenzie got her happy ending.
The epilogue took my by surprise not what I was expecting.

I liked the premise of this book and was looking forward to the intrigue but it just fell really flat for me. I don’t think I could connect to the characters. The change of perspective in part 2 was much needed but unfortunately it wasn’t enough to get me invested in the story. And I just found it a slog to get through to the end.

Absolutely thrilling!”
A tense story that will keep you reading and has the perfect set up. A death that may not be as it seems, great characters that you can really see, the descriptions are compelling and it leads to page turning and not wanting to put it down. As the story moves on each person’s story comes to life. I devoured this in 2 sittings and now want more! Excellent!

This was deliciously dark and twists all over the place as Kenzie goes full on Nancy Drew to find out what happened the night her mum dad.

This felt really fresh and exciting. Would recommend,

This book unfolds its mysteries throughout its pages. It’s starts out being one thing and by the closing page when all the ends have been tied it’s something all together more sinister and far reaching. The death of Mackenzie’s mum stats the beginning of a rollercoaster. Mackenzie was never close to her mum and after her death she begins receiving notes that take her back into her mother’s life from teenage onwards.

Along the way Mackenzie comes by her own tribe of people that are entwined one way or another the her mum Lizzy

Brilliantly told story highly recommend

This was an interesting read. A bit too slow for my liking though. I think the writing is too plain and the suspense could’ve been exposed better.
