I absolutely picked this book up because I was hoping it WAS a cult.
What it actually was, was a whole load of crazy, but scarily believable crazy.
It's a strange story, and I liked it all the more for that.
Our main narrator and her relationship with her Gran gave just the right amount of normal to the tale.
I probably didn't understand all the finer points, but I certainly enjoyed the story.

I liked the premise of a band talking of small gods gaining a cult following but, for me, the narrative pace was far too slow and I just wasn’t enjoying the ride.

I was granted a review copy of It’s Not a Cult and am leaving this review voluntarily.
