Cute, nostalgic and thought-provoking, this is a little book about what matters in life.
Nice one to read to children and gift.

Writing Style
Jake Biggin’s writing in this book is simple yet elegant. The text flows smoothly and lyrically, making it suitable for young readers while resonating with adults, and the language used throughout is rather soothing at points, making this a good book for bedtime.
Illustrations
Along with the lovely text, the book also features delightful illustrations that complement the narrative’s gentle tone; children will be drawn to the sweet scenes in which Sunny is sitting with Alice, particularly if they have animal friends of their own.
The character drawings are simply beautiful, and the colour palette throughout the book evokes feelings of warmth and safety, symbolising some of the stronger components of friendship.
Final Thoughts
Words of Friendship is a heartfelt book that offers valuable lessons on empathy, understanding, and the importance of supportive relationships.
If you’re looking for a book that combines a thought-provoking message, beautiful writing, and enchanting illustrations, Words of Friendship is it. It is simply stunning.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This book is absolutely beautiful and that’s really all that needs to be said. It’s beautifully illustrated and has a sweet story with important messages on friendship, big feelings and questions such as allowing space for big feelings for a while and the fact not every question will always get an answer.

A gentle, uplifting and thoughtful book. As lovely for reading alone as for reading with someone else. It delves into big questions and gives some beautifully touching answers. The illustrations are really lovely too - great for contemplating upon some of the questions asked and for whisking the reader into the heart of the story.

This is a thoughtful and moving read- an exploration of friendship, big feelings and kindness. Sunny is a wonderful friend, and Alice is given space to explore her big feelings and her questions. There is also acknowledgment that not every question will have a certain answer, and that that’s okay. The illustrations are gorgeous and really emotive. Overall, definitely recommended and will open up some important conversations.
Thank you very much to DK and NetGalley for the ARC!
