Just wow! My first Jill Childs book but definitely not my last! This story got under my skin in ways I can’t even explain. So many red herrings that I had no clue who to trust. This one had me up way into the night. Fabulous reveals. Run don’t walk to get this new book.
Thank you NetGalley, Jill Childs and Boldwood Books for the opportunity to read and review this gem of a book.

Twisty, emotional, and completely addictive.

Daughter, Missing pulled me in from the very first chapter and didn’t let go. Jill Childs crafts a gripping story filled with heart-wrenching emotion, family secrets, and plenty of suspense to keep you guessing. The pacing is perfect — revealing just enough at every turn to keep the tension high while peeling back the layers of a mother’s worst nightmare.

What I loved:
🔎 Fast-paced domestic suspense
💔 Raw, emotional family drama
❓ Secrets, lies, and shocking revelations
👩‍👧 Complex mother-daughter relationships

If you enjoy authors like Shalini Boland, K.L. Slater, or Sue Watson, this one belongs on your TBR.

The twists just keep twisting! This had so much happening in the best way, well maybe not for the main character, but definitely for the reader! The story was intriguing and unpredictable. Don’t miss out on this one!

Thank you to Jill Childs, NetGalley, and Boldwood books for this ARC in exchange for my hon review.

This was a great read, a mothers love is everything. When Kates husband dies, then her daughter of a drug overdose, she’s out to find the person who sold/gave her daughter the drugs, she won’t stop. She follows her other daughter to Amsterdam to keep her safe. The plot is intense, with a brilliant ending. I really enjoyed reading the last few chapters, the twists really pulled the story together. A twisty 4.5 thriller. Thanks to Betgalley and the publishers for a copy.

Book Review: Daughter, Missing by Jill Childs

In Daughter, Missing, Jill Childs delivers a suspenseful and emotionally charged novel that grips the reader from the very first page. With a storyline packed with unexpected revelations and buried secrets, this is a book that refuses to be set aside.

What makes the novel stand out is its unique structure and the way it gradually peels back layers of truth. As the search for answers unfolds, so too does a deeper exploration of trust, loss, and the complexities of familial relationships. Childs masterfully builds tension while offering just enough clues to keep readers constantly reevaluating what they think they know.

Full of emotional depth and psychological intrigue, Daughter, Missing is a compelling read that surprises at every turn. It’s a page-turner in the truest sense—absorbing, unpredictable, and thoroughly satisfying. Book Review: Daughter, Missing by Jill Childs

Wow! I absolutely loved this book. The storyline took me in and the next thing I knew I was on the last page.

This book is about two mothers who will do anything for their children. The way this story webs together both Kate and Maddy is amazing. I have not read anything by this author before but I will definitely be checking out her other books after this read.

Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood Books for this ARC.

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review. Kate is a mom to twin daughters. While her daughters are travelling on a gap year, Kate gets some devastating news about one of her daughters. As she struggles to deal with this pain, she becomes over protective when it comes to her daughter Clara. Kate realises that she must let Clara live her life so she reluctantly lets Clara go ahead and move out and travel with her roommate. Then one day Kate gets a hysterical phone call from the mother of Clara's roommate saying her daughter is missing. The two moms work together to find out where both of their daughters have gone as Clara is not answering Kate's messages or calls. When a body is found, the mother of the roommate must make the identification, this discovery is one that will forever change both of their lives and bring up some memories from Kate's past.... Enjoy!!!

Kate loses her husband to a heart attack, and then her older daughter to a deadly recreational drug. Even though the police have closed her daughter's case, Kate becomes obsessed with finding the person responsible for providing the drug. When Kate's younger daughter disappears in Europe during her gap year, Kate will do anything to find her and keep her safe.

The book started out with an interesting look into the family with young daughters moving into their dream home. When the husband's son from a previous relationship enters the picture, the book became very depressing to the point that I struggled to continue. I like a good thriller, but this one became so dark that I skipped over chunks of it until I could learn what became of the second daughter. It was not an enjoyable read for me, but I'm still giving it three stars because the book seemed to be well crafted.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

Great book, I will say some parts are predictable however it was still a good one.

I liked the way it was written and how there was little side bits of information about non main characters.

Overall a good read

Thanks to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for the ARC of this book.
Sorry but I couldn't finish this book. I tried several times but the characters were all very unlikeable and 45% was all I managed to read.
Not one for me I 'm afraid.

People often say that mothers are creatures who can be very kind and loving, but beware if you touch their children. They can transform in an instant into real lionesses that even the best lion tamer wouldn’t dare to approach.

Kate and Maddy are two mothers they are describing!

Story starts when Kate and Simon Grosvenor, their two young daughters Bella and Clara – as well as their dog Coco are settling in their new home,
Simon was married when he was young to Monica Bancroft a New Yorker who claimed she got pregnant. Simon did the right things but the marriage didn’t last.
Monica to let Simon see the boy but accepts Simon monthly allowance. When Jonathan is ten she decided she should get to know his father.
He is a strange little boy and is mean to the girls as well as to the dog Coco.
Everyone is thankful when he leaves and returns to boarding school.

As time goes on Kate’s life is turned upside down with two deaths. Simon has heart attack.

Bella now eighteen has blossomed into a beauty and is a first year student at King’s College attends a house party with friends when drugs are taken. She dies from an overdose.
Kate is sure Bella was a victim of a crime and is out to bring the criminal to justice.

Now Kate’s youngest daughter Clara wants to go on a gap year to Amsterdam with travel buddy Amy Price, Kate is nervous but wants Clara to have a good experience so doesn’t stand in her way.
However, Kate’s worst nightmare becomes a reality when she gets a call from Amy’s mother Maddy that their daughters, have gone missing.

Desperate and determined, Kate’s search takes her from London to Europe, and finally to America. What she doesn’t know is that her daughter’s disappearance is linked to her stepson Jonathan. As Jonathan is her husband’s son from an earlier marriage but he is mean to the girls as well as their dog. Kate doesn’t want him around the girls. Her husband supports her; in fact – when he died he disinherited Jonathan. Now it appears he is out for revenge.

Maddy Price’s life has been a mess. She finds out her husband is cheating on her and while she is out of town at a conference where she is a presenter her husband is robbed and murdered in their home. (However, we do know who did it!)
Now her daughter is missing
Story was far more involved than I imagined. I was glued!!
This is my fifth Jill Childs novel so I should not have been surprised about enjoying this one so much!!!
~ As she DOES NOT disappoint!

Want to thank NetGalley and Boldwood Books for granted me this early eGalley.
Publishing Release Date scheduled for July 6, 2025.

Enjoyed reading. Even when I thought I had figured it out I was wrong. Ending could have had a little more to it, a little anti climatic. No real complaints otherwise. Definitely recommend .

This was getting dark really early

It started with a happy family but not everyone was happy about it. Some just wanted ro destroy everything and everyone.

The start of the book and the ending part were really fast and thrilling. The middle was too slow for my taste.

This one was sad and dark, but also very hopeful.

This is an utterly amazing book from Jill Child's. It's absolutely gripping and I've reccomended it to all my friends. I stayed up late into the night to finish it and the ending did not disappoint!

This is an enjoyable read. I follows Kate, who starts out with a happy little family, and her stepson who feeling rejected plots revenge. It is run of the mill and morbidly sad. Not really a thriller as there are no shocks or hidden surprises, any twist in the plot happens part way through and it somewhat answers many of the plot questions. Kate follows her daughter to Amsterdam after she goes missing. Having lost the elder daughter and her husband Kate is determined not to lose Clara. Kate joins forces with Maddy, who was also looking for her daughter. There is darkness at this story's centre and a manipulator at its heart. People are capable of very unpleasant things. In some stories anyway.

This psychological thriller is one to read. When one daughter is dead it can’t happen again can it?
Twisty thriller definitely one for your reading list.
I loved it.
