Two couples go on holiday together with their children to a secluded beach cottage in India.
One the first evening while they are partying on the beach leaving their children to be looked after by their fourteen year old daughter, the other couples five year old child goes missing.
What follows is an investigation that shows all of the adults have been keeping secrets and holding grudges.
A slow moving story with multiple timelines.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookoture for my e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book is a really excellent read. I was hooked from the start, it’s so multilayered and well written that I couldn’t put it down. I love red herrings and secrets and this book had them in spades. Would definitely recommend it!

I’ve already read several books by this author, and the least you can say about her is that she truly knows how to bring a story to life. Her descriptions and details are so vivid that you can see everything unfold before your eyes, which also means you can feel the emotions perfectly.
We follow two couples and their children as they head off on vacation. These are people who know and trust each other completely. They’re looking forward to this well-deserved trip and plan to fully enjoy it.
Then something happens that shakes everyone to their core, leaving them completely devastated. Fortunately, they can lean on one another during these dark moments. But is that really the case? Do they truly know each other that well, and is that trust actually justified?
For me personally, this is the best book I’ve read by this author so far. The story is masterfully structured, and just when you think you’ve figured it all out, she manages to plant seeds of doubt, forcing you to reset and rethink everything from the beginning.
The emotions flow right off the pages, and it didn’t take long before I reached for a tissue.
Some people can’t keep a secret for two minutes. Others have no trouble hiding something for years.
And then comes the ending… Will the author leave it at that, or will she treat us to a sequel? I wouldn’t mind finding out how everything continues.
I never once doubted giving this book 5 stars. For me, this is a masterpiece in its genre.
Thank you.

This book really makes you question your friends. I thought it was rather predictble-affairs, jealousy, backstabbing, paternity questions. I felt it was kind of long. It was ok. I am not from the UK so I don't know the Madeline McCann story but will def check it out.

Thank you to Netgalley and the author for this ARC! I loved this book! Inhaled it in less than 24 hours! It started out by giving the vibes of the case of Madaline McCann! This book did not disappoint! The infidelity of Yash with Lydia the best friend for all of Yash and Jo’s marriage. How Jo had an affair with JT! All completely wild and everything all tied together in the end! And the ENDING!! omg leaving it with JT going to come for Ajit because he thinks he is his son!! Book two?? I fricken hope so!! I will be devouring that one! I will definitely be getting more of this Authors books!!

Two Perfect Couples had me hooked from the start. Starting with a bang right out of the gate, this will leave you guessing throughout the entire book.
Two couples and their children go on holiday to a quiet beach resort. What was supposed to be a relaxing time soon turns frantic when one of the children goes missing. As the search ensues, the secrets and lies start spewing forth. They all are hiding something, but who's secret is the catalyst for revenge.
This is a very fast paced and twisty tale riddled with deception. The suspense and tension will keep you on the edge of your seat. I read it in one sitting. The chapters flow quickly and it's an easy read.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the advanced copy

Two perfect couples go on holiday together when disaster strikes and a child is taken away. Who are these couples? can they trust each other?
This book touches on very sensitive themes and as other readers have pointed out, some scenes reminded me of the Madeleine McCann case. It's done tastefully and respectfully, but obviously if this is a trigger for you then you may find it tough to read.
This is a superb psychologycal thriller where nothing is as it seems, an absolute page turner!! I loved the ending, the book was so twisty and some characters were pure evil, I didn't know what to expect! I highly recommend this book.

I trust my best friend Lydia with my life. We share everything, even the things we can’t tell our husbands. So when we go on a beach holiday together, it’s a dream come true. One night, we treat ourselves to dinner on the beach with our husbands while our children sleep soundly in the cottage behind us. But when I go to check on them, my entire world shatters. My son’s bed is empty, the window wide open, his favourite teddy left between the crumpled sheets. I stifle a scream as my worst nightmare comes true. My little boy is gone. It’s all my fault! Wow wow wow!! Some crazy dark hidden secrets!! Great read! The chilling suspense, mystery, murder, kidnapping, cheating, and some jaw dropping twists! The story was very interesting! I highly recommend reading this book! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!

A good solid domestic drama.
Some interesting characters and some decent twists.
I did get a little bored but a good read for the by the pool.
My thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my copy.

A good premise.
I’d have loved to have seen more of Jo’s internal thoughts and feelings - it felt like we got ‘I shuddered’ several times a chapter but no real insight into how she was feeling beyond that. Quite repetitive, ‘they’ll find Ajit won’t they? Please.’
But some great twists and surprises

I gave this book a 3 star! Quite a decent book! Let me talk about the things I liked and didn't.
Didn't like - I thought it was quite a boring setting? Place? So it wasn't very enjoyable to read personally, as in the environment of the book. I also didn't like much the past and present time lines, I like them usually but I found the ones at the start with the flashbacks talking at the beach, and what not to be a bit slow paced/unentertaining.
Liked - I loved the characters in this one, you relate to them so much, build amazing relationships with them and appreciated their thoughts in depth, like I was put into her brain, I really enjoyed that factor. I also liked the writing. I usually don't like overly descriptive writing but this one was hard hitting, interesting, and manageable to read without feeling like a chore. (How I sometimes feel at least 😅)
Overall, lovely book, though I guessed a couple plot twists here and there and it wasn't very... Thrilling? As it's a thriller, not sure if I'm explaining well. I recommend this book though, it's a nice book 📖

This was a brilliant thriller that kept me turning the pages late into the night. I highly recommend this wild ride of a book!! A definite MUST READ!! It reminded me of the Madeleine McCann case whilst reading it.
I haven't read any other book that left me gasping for breath and with a pounding heart as much as this one did.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars!

Two perfect families go on the holiday of a life time - two perfect couples with the perfect marriages, but are they really? And when one of the couples child goes missing, cracks begin to form and secrets are revealed. Secrets that could tear families apart.
Right from the beginning it’s easy to see that all is not as perfect as it seems with the characters. The writing is intricate and detailed and you can clearly visualise the characters in your head. When the main protagonist child goes missing it is every parents worst nightmare, as a mum of a five year old boy I struggled at times with this as I have a son who is five and this would be my biggest nightmare.
The way D’Silva describes how the mum feels and all the events surrounding it, you are right there with her- imagining the pain and anguish she is going through. Because of all this- secrets start to get revealed and you become gripped by how flawed all the characters are. I found the first half of the book had more of a slow pace the second half was much easier to really get stuck into and it really picked up. There are many twists along the way so it compels you too keep going to find out what has happened. One criticism I have is occasionally I felt that we were just repeating bits and I just wanted to get on with the rest of the story but I think the authors way of building it all and keeping the suspense. The ending for me as well was a bit flat I wanted more and it wasn’t an entirely satisfying ending but then it could be because it gives a hint of a follow on.
I should say there are some trigger warnings - miscarriages, post natel depression and hints at child abuse.
Overall I would definitely read more from D’Silva - if you like a good domestic thriller than this is an excellent read.
