This was a story about attorney Ana Mendez who lives in NYC. She’s from a Cuban family and grew up in Miami. She’s been working for the same firm for 8 years and pushing herself hard to become a junior partner. Her big case is a lawsuit over a medical malpractice case.
Rachel Cohen is thoracic surgeon, she’s grown up in NYC and comes from a Jewish family. One Friday night she goes to a local gay bar and meets up with Ana. The go to Ana’s apartment and have a hot night of sex. Rachel leaves at 4:00 am and questions what in the heck did she just do?
The next day they find out that Rachel has to submit to a deposition on the malpractice case. She was an intern at the time and observed the surgery.
This story has been told multiple times with a predictable storyline and ending BUT- in this book it felt fresh and new due to the great job that Morgan Adams did in writing it. Both characters were well developed and very likable. The dialogue was fun and made me laugh out loud. Both women’s family’s and best friends enhanced the story. One thing I like.d was that they were both strong women and took turns being the lead/dominate person. They were totals equals. I liked that a lot. I look forward to reading more books of Adams’ and I’ll look for her previous one.
Thanks to Net Galley for the chance to read and review this ARC.

This was a very enjoyable, easy read from Adams and I will have to check out more of her books.
Ana Mendez is senior associate at Byron & Browning and has been hoping to finally get the promotion she knows she deserves. A wrench is thrown in her plans though when her one night stand happens to be a doctor in the malpractice suit.
Dr. Rachel Cohen is cardiac surgeon, and was only a resident when a patient died, which wasn't her fault as she wasn't the attending. When she gets called to testify, the last person she expects to see is that the lawyer is the woman she hooked up with.
I loved the chemistry between Ana and Rachel and the will they/won't they aspect of it. The barrier that is supposed to keep them apart had me wondering how that would be resolved and I do feel like it was solved too easily and quickly, but overall, the story flowed well with witty banter, but the writing was solid and kept me engaged in the story.
I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Ana and Rachel had a one night stand, or so they thought. Until they met as Ana, a malpractice attorney, is representing the estate of case where Rachel walks in. Dr. Rachel Cohen that is.
Things are going to get rocky but what happens as they spend more time together?
This is a great read from the beginning. Don’t miss it.

This is Morgans second book and I was hooked from the start. It was a solid read with amazing dialogue and I enjoyed it very much. The main cahracters as well as the secondary were great and relatable. I recommend
Thank you Bold Strokes Books#NetGalley#Morgan Adams

This story had me hooked from just the first few chapters. I literally could not put it down, I love a good forbidden love story and this was just *chefs kiss*.
I could feel the chemistry between Ana and Rachel from the moment they met. Their conversations are so well written, I loved the banter between them both. The drama throughout the book had me saying "just one more chapter before I take a break". I appreciated that you can tell that the author was knowledgeable about both of the main characters profession and religion and that the book took a focus on recognizing the characters differences and showing Ana take the time to learn about Rachel's religion. That was such a great touch that I loved.
The only reason that I gave this book 4 stars instead of 5 is that the resolution of the drama and story seemed a bit anticlimactic. There was all this tension from secrets kept that once they came out both characters seemed to move on and get their happily ever after.
Overall, I loved this book and its characters. I definitely will be picking up any book that this author puts out!
Thanks to Netgallery and Bold Strokes Books for allowing me to read this book early.

This is the second book by Morgan Adams, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! One of the main characters, Ana Mendez, appears in Adams's first book, but that is not a requirement for reading this story about her and Dr. Rachel Cohen. One of the tropes in this book is one night to forever, and I enjoyed the time it took for the two characters to re-meet and figure out their issues.
I thought their relationship developed well on the page. It was believable, had some humor, and was QUITE spicy. I liked each character's relationships with friends and family, too; they helped to make Ana and Rachel more than just two women who are well-established in their careers.
A Conflict of Interest is a fascinating medical/legal story alongside a romantic one. I would recommend it to readers who want to read about two competent and mature adults who have to navigate their careers as well as a romance.
Thank you to the author and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review the arc of this book!

The synopsis of this book was promising and it did not disappoint. Pairing a lawyer and doctor together in a deposition was a unique enemies-to-lovers that was light on the enemies and heavy on the lovers. Throughout the book, you fall in love with their slow burn love and how they seamlessly flow into a relationship.
While it was a bit slow at the beginning, it definitely picked up as you move through the book and get intrigued to know what Rachel’s secret is. Their flaws and conversations add to the realism of their character and the side characters were just as enjoyable! I would love to see a second book in which Charlotte and Stella get together.
Overall, I would give this a 4/5 and you should definitely read this book!

Slightly on the back foot at the start, not because the main has been overlooked for promotion in favour of pale, less able males, but because she made advances to her mentee..... the fact the mentee went for one of the managing partners just screams toxic workplace. However I am only 1% in and will reserve judgement.
I'm also not usually a fan of immediate intimacy but obviously if it's one night to forever that's how it starts. It takes a good writer to involve me the first intimate scene.
30% in and I'm in, but the mains although coincidentally meeting, haven't got together and there is a bit of me distracted by the insurmountable barrier they face.... and I just want to see how they surmount it!
Half way through, the mains are getting on, we see them getting on but I am still impatient to see how the barrier is overcome, especially as there has been hints, there will be issues.
My problem with this book was that I was more interested in the barrier to the romance, than the romance. Plenty of varied intimate scenes. The barrier unfortunately wasn’t really brought in to the light till pretty close to the end and it was kind of easily dealt with. I’ve rounded up to 3, but I found the jeopardy/romance balance a bit off for me..

This is a great blend of a medical and law trope, with an emphasis on the stress behind these positions rather than the drama of them. Both main characters were well developed, with diverse and meaningful backstories and cultures, and felt like real people who could fit in with my friend groups. There is some emotional tension, but I wouldn’t classify it as overly angsty and thoroughly enjoyed this novel. Would love to see more from the author set in this same world.

Lawyer Ana and doctor Rachel have a hot one night stand after a chance meeting. Then it transpires that Rachel is a witness in a case that Ana is the lead for. How can she take a deposition from a witness that she’s slept with. But if they never meet again, that should be ok, right?
There is so much going on in this story ~ the legal conflict, the attitude to ambition and how to measure success, family, religion… and the "we shouldn’t but we can’t help ourselves"…
The sidekick characters Stella and Charlotte are excellent and the different New York settings are well used. I liked the insight into Rachel’s Jewish culture and her extended family.
This is well written and Ms Adams knows how to juggle a large cast and a complex plot. I’m already looking forward to her next book.
I was given a copy of this book by NetGalley

An enjoyable read with a good pace. I love an opposites attract romance and loved the chemistry between Rachel and Ana. There were plenty of cute moments which I enjoyed and the ending was super sweet. However, I personally would’ve preferred more angst and feel the book could’ve gone that bit further with more tension between the characters, especially when the case had so much risk for both of them.
A highlight for me was learning about Jewish culture. I loved how it didn’t feel forced and has left me more educated.

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC!! I read View from the Top a while back and loved it!! Darcy and Lizzy were so much fun so when I saw that these characters were from the same universe I was super excited!! I really enjoyed the premise of this story. Ana and Rachel were absolutely fantastic together and I loved the flirty dynamics!!!
I look forward to this author writing about Stella and Charlotte next (hopefully)!!!

I always find the theme of one-night stands that develop into something more because neither of them can forget their night very entertaining.
Of course, it's not easy, and work gets in the way, but it's actually not as dramatic as I expected.
There was quite a bit of tension at the beginning, which wasn't nice at all, and I thought it would be difficult for the two of them to get together.
However, Morgen Adams found a rather gentle way to resolve the whole thing. The chemistry between the two ladies is tremendous and hot, and I love the flirtatious banter between them!
Various characters from family and friends, both of Cuban and Jewish descent, added a lovely and sometimes really funny element to this beautiful romance.
One small downside is that the actual conflict of interest wasn't that difficult to resolve and offered little challenge... but that's just my opinion.
Overall, I really enjoyed the book, and I thank Bold Strokes Books and the Author very much for the ARC!

A hot read with witty banter and a good story
This was a very enjoyable read by newbie author Morgan Adams. It combines - very well executed - several popular tropes and the witty banter carries the story through.
Sexy lawyer Ana Mendez spends a hot night with cardiac surgeon Dr. Rachel Cohen only to discover the next morning that she is a witness in one of her litigation cases. Oh, the conflict of interest! I loved the chemistry and how this taboo attraction plays out throughout the book.
There is a large helping of their Jewish and Cuban families and a needy cat. I cheered for Ana whose law firm was a cesspool of old boys doing their thing.
There is another romance on the horizon and I look forward to another book of Morgan Adams in the future.
I received an ARC via netgalley. The review is left voluntarily.

Rachel is cardiac surgeon who been serve legal papers to testify in legal deposition regarding a horrible surgery performed by a senior surgeon that she observed as an intern that she can never forget. She heads to a bar to let loose some stress where she meets Ana and had one night of passion. Ana is senior lawyer who works hard to get a promotion she believes this case she leading may get it but what she didn’t know the hook up she had one night is person she has to question. As they navigate this they know it’s a conflict of interest but pull they feel is hard to ignore as they give in. I enjoy it the forbidden love felt organic love their banter chemistry was on point.
I received an ARC copy of this book from the Publisher via Netgalley and voluntarily leaving my review.

This was quite an enjoyable book about a relationship between two intelligent, career-minded women. Ana Mendez is a senior associate lawyer from a Catholic Cuban family who reside in a small town outside of Miami. Ana now lives in New York City and is hoping to get promoted to of counsel position within her law firm.
Rachel Cohen is a cardiac surgeon from New York City who maintains a close relationship with her local Jewish family. She routinely visits with them most Friday nights when she is not at the hospital. Rachel is concerned about a legal deposition that she must participate in regarding a botched surgery performed by a senior surgeon that she observed as an intern. One night she heads to a bar in the city to relieve some stress and she meets Ana. They have a one-night stand that neither can get out of their minds. A short time later when Rachel attends the deposition appointment she is surprised to see that Ana is attorney overseeing the deposition.
There were several positives from my perspective about this story. It included women of differing multi-cultural backgrounds, different religions, differing professions, who get along quite well. The reader was able to learn a multitude of things about these aspects of their backgrounds. On another note, even after they discovered their one-night stand could lead to a conflict of interest they weren't able to stay away from each other for too long. They agreed to keep their distance physically and that lead to creative ways for them to get to know each other. It also lead to creative ways for the sizzling sparks to fly before their next in-person encounter.
Although the conflict was quickly wrapped up in the end, the book was a wonderful, spicy read.
I received an ARC from Bold Strokes Books and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed View From The Top, so I was very excited to receive this ARC of its sequel. I'm happy to say it was just as good as the first.
The two main characters are well written and fleshed out with their own friends, families, ambitions, etc. I particularly liked the inclusion of Rachel and Ana's Jewish and Cuban cultures.
In terms of the romance, it's both sweet and spicy. There's clear feelings on both sides and lots of time spent with our two main characters flirting and bantering, which is something I really enjoy in my romance novels. There's also quite a few sex scenes adding that spicier element.
As far as plot, I loved the messiness of the conflict of interest in Ana's workplace. You could really feel the stress and tension of the situation, and it only built as both parties continued to ignore it. My only wish was that there was more "conflict" in the conflict of interest. Things seemed to wrap up almost a little too nicely, and I think there could have been a lot more explored there in terms of consequences and character growth as a result.
Overall, however, I blew through this one and enjoyed Ana and Rachel's story quite a bit. 4.4/5 stars.

Ever since View From The Top, I’ve been so curious about senior associate Ana Mendez and hoped that she would get her HEA. Let me tell you, A Conflict of Interest does not disappoint.
Ana Mendez, senior associate at Byron & Browning has been logging long hours to make it, to finally get the promotion she deserves. Her medical malpractice case might just be the ticket to her success, for her very male partners to notice her accomplishments. However, life has a funny way of getting in the way. A very hot one night stand leads to an unexpected encounter, the stunning red head she brought home from the bar, is the final doctor Ana needs to interview for her case.
Dr. Rachel Cohen, cardiac surgeon, was only a resident when a patient died at the hands of another surgeon. A night that she will never forget and to make matters worse, she’s served legal papers to testify. Even though it would be in both parties best interest to stay away from one another, the pull is too strong to keep denying.
I absolutely loved this story. I am a sucker for forbidden romances. The chemistry between Ana and Rachel was undeniable. Their banter was so light and funny which had me grasping for more. I honestly could not put this book down. The development of their relationship and the pace truly felt organic, even with a dark cloud looming above them. Morgan has a way of crafting strong and sexy independent women, that makes you want more. But it’s the quiet cozy moments intertwined with vulnerability that makes it hard to not fall in love with her characters.
A Conflict of Interest is a steamy, low angst, kicking my feet giddy, kind of romance. It’s an easy read that will leave you feeling satisfied. I’m excited to see what comes next from Morgan Adams. I am incredibly appreciative of the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book has an insanely electrifying energy!!! Just the combination: a cardio surgeon and a lawyer??? I mean, hello??? Phew, I knew from the blurb that this book was going to be good, but this good?
Ana has an important trial ahead of her. One she's been working on for years. But there has to be a bit of fun, right? She meets Rachel, a doctor who is married to her job, in a bar. Sparks fly and they end up in bed together. But when Rachel suddenly turns up at Ana's office a few days later and it turns out that Rachel is one of the doctors she has to interrogate, chaos breaks out in the life of the otherwise determined lawyer.
I devoured this book. The chemistry was amazing!!! The fact that their relationship was forbidden made the tension very high. And on top of that, a secret that wasn't revealed for a long time kept me reading. The danger of everything being exposed hung over them like the sword of Damocles. On the one hand, of course, there was this incredible attraction and on the other this vulnerability. Simply a great combination! The way they managed to communicate with each other and forget everything was really beautiful.
I’d love to give this book 5 stars, but the drama in the last act... well, I found it too easily resolved. I mean, the tension grew and grew, then the drama came and a few pages later it was already over. That was partly incomprehensible to me, as there was a lot at stake, at least for Ana.
Nevertheless, it was a great, beautiful book with hot, spicy scenes that I really enjoyed! This will definitely not be the last book I read by Morgan Adams.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me an ARC.

A Conflict of Interest by Morgan Adams is a fun, quick, and easy read. It follows attorney Ana Mendez as she navigates a medical malpractice case involving cardiac surgeon Dr. Rachel Cohen, who is expected to testify about a past operation that ended in a patient’s death. While the legal case is central to the plot, I appreciated that it wasn’t an overwhelming source of angst. The conflict added depth without overshadowing the story, allowing the focus to remain on the building romance between Ana and Rachel.
What I appreciated most about this book was the rich representation of both Jewish and Cuban cultures. In many romance novels, cultural or religious identities are briefly mentioned but not deeply woven into the story. That’s not the case here. Rachel’s Jewish heritage is explored with care and authenticity. You get a real sense of how her faith and traditions shape her life. Ana’s Cuban background is equally meaningful, offering insight into her drive to succeed and her connection to family and community. From Shabbat dinners to sharing language and stories, the mutual curiosity and respect Ana and Rachel show for each other’s cultures was genuinely heartwarming.
That said, it did take a little time for me to feel fully invested in their relationship. After their initial meeting at a bar, they head back to Ana’s for what they both describe as “the best sex of their lives,” but as a reader, I didn’t quite feel that intensity. The scene was mostly fade-to-black, which would have been fine if the rest of the book followed suit, but later scenes were much more explicit. I found myself wishing there had been more emotional or physical tension in that first encounter to help sell the immediate chemistry. For me, the connection between Ana and Rachel developed more convincingly over time than it did at the outset.
Overall, A Conflict of Interest was an enjoyable read with a thoughtful blend of romance, culture, and legal drama. I loved seeing two strong, complex women learning about and embracing each other’s worlds, and I’ll definitely keep an eye out for more from Morgan Adams (secretly hoping for a Charlotte/Stella story next!).
