Sadly, I’m going to DNF this book at 27%. The main reason is that I just couldn’t connect with the main characters. I also found a few things in the story a bit unbelievable, which normally wouldn’t be a dealbreaker for me. But paired with not being able to get attached to the characters, it ended up being the last straw.
Thank you so much to the author, Bold Strokes Books, Inc. and NetGalley for providing a free eARC in exchange for an honest review!

This is the third book in the University Police series and another enjoyable cosy murder mystery with sweet romance in the air.
It can be read as a standalone mystery romance but for me it was good to meet up again with the cast from the other two books.
Cappy is the relationship phobic campus cop who links up with Jazz the Valkyrie Librarian to look into the death of a student who had been destined for football stardom before a car accident.
There is low level angst, chemistry, funny banter and kittens!!
Thanks to Bold Strokes Books and NetGalley for the early read of this book. The review is a honest one.

A librarian meets her match
I love Karis Walsh mystery series set on Seattle University Campus. As in the previous two books an Academic is involved in an investigation led by Campus police. The Academics are close friends (and we get to meet them again). Now it‘s the turn of Jazz, the library director, to fall for „her“ police officer Cappy.
This time the academic setting is focused on the life of a college former football star. There seems to be a suicide but Jazz suspects foul play. I liked the slow unfolding of the investigation as well as the mutual attraction. We get to know the background of Norse warrior Jazz and Cappy (her grandmother is a welcome addition). Both slowly poke around to find out whether there is more to the suicide.
If you enjoy a well-written, slow-burn police procedural with great side characters and a academic setting this will be a satisfying read.
I received an ARC. The review is left voluntarily.

would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this book
i love these guys and it was great to catch up with them....
cappy and jazz what a pair... one a police officer and the other a librarian
when jazz heard about a student committing suicide she was beside herself as she had known him and she went rushing into the police station wanting a proper investigation into his death as she was saying murder
poor cappy just back after her grandfathers funeral was feeling all out of sorts and she was the one that jazz zeroed in on to state her theory of murder
can this series get any better.... cant wait to see who is up next to be paired with a office of the law and someone from the university..... good read thoroughly enjoyed the one liners
