Set in England during ww2 this is a fascinating and enjoyable read. I haven’t read many books set in England during the war or about the RAF pilots and I found it interesting to read about. I loved Beeby’s writing style which flowed. The characters were interesting to read about.
Thank you to Netgalley for an advanced copy of this book, all opinions expressed are my own.

There is something so lovely about beginning to read the next book in a series when you already know and care about the characters and can’t wait to find out what happens next in their journeys through life. High Hopes for the Bomber Girls is a very satisfying conclusion to Vicki Beeby’s Bomber Girl series. Although part of me would like to see a book written about these characters after the war and later in their lives too.

This novel concentrates on the story of Jenny, who is much cleverer than she believes herself to be, even with her mispronunciations of words she has only seen written down not spoken. The novel illuminates the impact of some of the things our servicemen and women had to endure and do in the war years and how this potentially affected their relationships and future lives. Lovely to catch up with Edwin, Pearl, Greg, Thea, Fitz, Deedee and Thomas too.

As always with a Vicki Beeby novel, I got carried away with reading and was eager to get back to the book whenever I had chance. Can’t wait to see what the author will treat us to next.

The war is ending, but her heart is still in battle.

Set in the fragile final days of WWII, High Hopes for the Bomber Girls delivers tension, tenderness, and a heroine you’ll root for. Jenny’s strength and heart shine through every page, and Edwin’s quiet torment broke me. Their story is both a mystery and a love letter to resilience.

If you love historical fiction with grit, warmth, and just the right touch of romance — this one’s a gem.

Read and reviewed in exchange for a free copy from NetGalley. Having really enjoyed the previous books in this series (and others I've read by this author), I was pleased to be granted an ARC for the final novel in the series. This book was set in the closing months of WW2 (and the months following) and neatly rounded of the series. All of the characters felt believable, and the Rita/Richie/Ben subplot made this particularly interesting. The story was engaging throughout.

Jenny Hazleton loves her job as a WAAF meteorologist, helping the airmen keep safe in the skies. None more so than Edwin Holland (who rebuffed her advances). Jenny struggles to understand why Edwin turned her down when Thea and Pearl tell her they are sure he is love with her. Sometimes the truth is just too cruel!
When a stranger comes to the village it is a shock when Jenny discover who she is and prepares to dislike her.
On the prompting of Thea, Jenny goes on a dare with someone else but Jenny is not impressed with his advances.
There is shock in the village when a young woman is found dead, who will be the guilty one?

I really enjoyed this book as Jenny had been my favourite in the series, even with her mispronouncing words/or because of.
There was so much going on, it just kept me reading. Saddest part was that it was last in series. As I love the authors books I’ll look out for her next one.

oh no! reading this book means we have to come to the end of what has been one of my favourite historical novels of this type. i go into these books knowing they will one day end but with each new book im given hope there might just be one more. sadly this looks to be it though. but at last we have Jenny's turn. or do we? for there is far more in store for her to get to that. but what a joy to read. this was the perfect ending. this book was once again a high hope given and a high hope achieved for both the girls and us readers.
i cant wait for more from Vicki and just hope i am lucky enough to read it because i finished this book in hours and didnt want to put it down. but am now feeling that slight grief a reader gets when a favourite series ends.

Thank you net galley and the publisher for this arc. I’m so upset that this is the end of the series but that said what an incredible ending! I throughly enjoyed this one and didn’t want it to end.

OH no, it's the end of the series..... Absolutely gutted as I have loved this series of books and will miss the characters in them. I finished this book in 24 hours as it was so good and kept you guessing until the end as to how part of the story would go. The series is brilliantly written and engaging and I would recommend it to anyone who likes historical saga type fiction.

Thank you to the publishers, NetGalley and of course Vicki Beeby for allowing me to read an review an Arc copy and for writing such an exception set of books.

Is it finally Jenny's turn to find love? I was so excited to find out in this book. When a dead body appears it won't be smooth sailing! I was thrilled to catch up with all my favourite girls and I am beyond happy for everything they have achieved. Sadly the series has come to a end with this book but it truly is the perfect ending!
