So grateful to receive an early copy of this. Loved being back with Pixie Tate. You can't say an awful lot without giving away spoilers. All I can say is I can't wait for the 3rd and final instalment!

The parts in the book about a real disaster in our history was exceptionally well written.

The whole book was amazing and I loved it. As usual some great characters.

The only problem I had with my copy was the journal parts had lots of letters missing from words. I have to say I nearly gave up reading it. So glad I didn't! Thank you.

I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book! I absolutely loved the first book in the series of Pixie Tate and enjoyed the concept of time sliding. This second book is just as brilliant. I didn’t want it to end. Again, it’s a really interesting era and storyline and features Pixie of course along with her best friend Ulysses. The supporting characters are also very engaging and well described. I’m looking forward to listening to it on audiobook too. Can’t wait for the third book in the series but really hope it won’t be the last one. Overall, a fantastic read set in the 1920’s and present time.

This is the second book in a time slider trilogy, however the book can be read on its own. In looking for a family diamond to do something good in her life Alma releases a spirit. Pixie is called in to help the spirit through the passage of time. This read has a story within a story and is packed with twists that will keep you guessing to the end. Fabulous.

Secrets of the Starlit Sea by Santa Montefiore

The moment psychic detective Pixie Tate steps inside the opulent Aldershoff Hotel in Manhattan, one of the last relics of New York's Gilded Age, she senses instantly that a dark spirit is wreaking havoc within its elegant walls.

Pixie knows that she must use her unique gift to travel back in time in order to discover the secrets of the past, and as she slips back over a hundred years, she's shocked to find herself in the midst of one of the most famous events in history.

I'm in the lucky position of being fairly new to this author and if this title and her previous one in the series is anything to go by I'm in for many a good read to come !

She has a way of really engaging and pulling you into the book in a way that almost feels like you are around her characters , a real gift .
I hope we continue to be able to read many more,Pixie Tate books .
Loved it !

I read this as a standalone book; whilst I've read and lived other stories by Montefiore, I have read the first time slider book.

In terms of understanding and enjoying this story, not having read the first made no real issue - I expect there is more detail to a back story that reappears in this but it didn't affect my enjoyment of the book.

The story is a compelling one; the characters are well developed and it is an enjoyable read. Most of it is written in Montefiore's fluid style which has good pace - I sat most because I struggled with the diary entries somewhat...they didn't flow as readily.

As a matter of personal preference, the timesliding wasn't my favourite feature but I did enjoy the relationships between the characters and most of the plot.

This was a fabulous continuation (although would read as a standalone no problem) with Pixie this time trying to move on a malevolent soul from a New York hotel. With some interesting characters in the present day, most noticeably the elderly descent of the man who built the family mansion that is now the hotel and some amazing characters from 100 years ago including one who is very special to Pixie. Santa Montefiore does a very good job of painting a very vivid picture of a well known historical location and the events that occurred there which helps Pixie understand part of the ghost’s sadness as well as bringing the mansion and resident family to life to understand the full events that occurred so long ago. This is a very vivid and detailed read with a thoughtful storyline and great warmth and emotion and I can’t wait to read the final book of the trilogy.
