This book grabbed me with the first few pages. There is plenty of suspense, romance, and some laughs to be had along the way. The characters were perfectly written and are very relatable. I absolutely loved this book and can’t wait for the next one to come out!

Oh wow great read, I love romance with lots of suspense and this has it. When Ellie decides it’s time for a change after her boyfriend beats her she moves to live with her brother. When Wade is introduced to the beautiful woman that is going to be living in his best friend apartment he can’t keep his eyes off her, then he notices the bruises.

what a hook line and sinker kind of book for a reader. you are bought into this book both by the plot, pace and character interactions. everything was on point. it was fast paced when it needed to be but slowly build tension through other moments. add to that the building romance was another things Allison got totally right, nothing overtook the other it was just all a buzz of a read.
the book bring us Ellie. she needs protection after fleeing an abusive relationship. she seeks and finds help in her brother and his friends. this is where she meets Wade. and that is where the chemistry starts with a pulse! but fleeing is said to be the most dangerous part. and its said for a reason. because her ex hasnt let go, and he isnt planning on.
Wade and Ellie together were just gorgeous. everything they did together just melted you. and i liked how it was given time. and it wouldnt have felt right for it to be all ok after what Ellie has just been through with her last relationship. but also it didnt shy away from showing that love doesnt stop its only abuse that HAS to. the protectiveness and true relationship from other was such a a brilliant balance.
this book could definitely have more characters drawn from it. i look forward to reading more from this author. it was my first time reading her books and it was just so good.

I loved Ellie and I liked Wade as their own people and liked them when they came together as a couple. I liked the suspense in this and was itching to see how it would pan out. I especially loved how everyone took care of not only Ellie, but each other too. Ruthie and Tammy were my absolute faves and I LOVED how much they adored Ellie. Overall, it was a fun read!

The author over explained scenes which in some instances it’s fine, however I felt it was overused in a lot of places, such as explaining what happened to her and still telling the readers in detail a second time. These are not things that bother me and I still enjoyed the book, however, I wanted to provide truthful and helpful feedback. This was a insta-love (insta-lust) story and it moved quickly, but it was short, sweet, and had a satisfying ending. I am especially excited to read Jack and Ruthie if the author chooses to write their story!

This was such a fun read. A bit of ups and downs on the pace but sick to it. It's totally worth it. I loved the main characters, and the intro to the next book left me with interest to figure out what happens with them to continue the series. I really enjoyed the relationships between the characters to show a true sense of "family". Really enjoyed the book.

This was a good beginning to a brand new series, one I can see having many books and new characters.
It’s fast paced, full of angst and drama but has some quite sweet moments to it as well.
I would read more from this author.

Complex storyline keeps this romance tale moving at a fast pace. Great group of characters and the two lovebirds are hit with insta-lust that breaks their defenses along the way. Some serious issues of domestic violence, kidnapping, murder, and betrayal are central to the story, so watch for triggers if you have them.

I liked the suspense parts of this story and I loved the romance parts. I found Wade and Ellie to be very likeable and sweet and their romance was not taboo but it felt like it was. Brother’s best friend. I am all about suspense books. I loved them. I gravitate to them. I wanted more suspense in this story. The action is fairly fast paced which is a must for me in these stories. I enjoyed all of the side characters in this story and I do want to read their stories. Especially Ruthie. She has a story to tell. Overall, I really enjoyed this story. This is a new to me author and I thought her writing flowed really well and she tells a good story.

Such a great book. I was obsessed to say the least with this storyline. I can't believe all the twist and turns.
