Gave it a try, but not really for me. Found the book to be written for maybe a young adult audience, yet there was some pretty heavy subjects covered, lots of trigger warnings and left me feeling quite disturbed at times.

Inside Outside by Faye Arcand.
This book was an entertaining read. It had well established character development and entertaining storyline.
The twists were well woven in, keeping me intrigued throughout.
While it tackled some heavy emotional topics, the writing was engaging and easy to follow.
My only critique is that the pacing felt a bit slow for me at times, but overall, it's a good thriller.

Thank you NetGalley and the publishers and author for the eARC.
This book was amazing, a train wreck you can’t stop reading.
Every imaginable horrible thing happened to these girls and women. If I had the time I would have flown through this in a day.
You’re reading and not really knowing who to trust. Everyone gives creepy vibes.

This was such an interesting mix of psychological drama and childhood trauma that followed two perspectives. You are drawn into the past and present lives of the two females, a writer who watches the world from her window and a teenager who is responsible for the care of her younger siblings. When their lives intersect, the audience becomes invested in what happens.

Wow! This book was a rollercoaster of emotions. I was hooked from the very beginning.
Inside Outside follows Leslie, an author struggling with mental illness and self-destructive behaviours stemming from a horrific upbringing and her ex husband's devastating betrayal, and Selena, a 17 year old girl who's struggling to keep her sisters safe while completing school and working part time.
Leslie spends her days watching life go by outside her window, which is how she first becomes aware of Selena. After Selena makes a risky decision, Leslie decides she needs to step in and help. As their bond grows, they start to open up to each other about their lives, hoping to find support, love, and maybe even start healing.
The characters and storylines are so believable and feel so real. You can't help but feel deeply for the characters and hope for a happy ending for everyone, despite the very devastating twists life can and does throw at them.
Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for providing a review copy of this book.

Leslie has been betrayed. in the worst of ways. her husband has betrayed her. and stolen her life from her. she retreats into herself. to get through the day she spends it just looking out into the world. people watching she spots one girl Selena a young girl who she sees something in, she cant help out, there is just something...
Selena herself has her own troubles. more than a person her age should ever have to carry. more than anyone should ever have to carry, her home life is awful, she is living with toxicity and fear. both are dealing with life, loneliness, fear and uncertainty of what their futures could bring.
the tension is built in the realistic way everything unfolds. its hard in its steadiness. nothing is happening or resolved quickly. pain endure and so does all the bad things going on for our pair. their lives cross. their lives keep crossing. and lines become steadily blurred. as a reader you are drawn to this story and you are drawn to both characters. you come to care for what is happening and what will happen to them.
Faye also creates a dialogue for the reader to very much mull over. i spent alot of time thinking over the themes and questions this book conjures up. its a hard but stunning read and so much more than i thought it would going in.
i loved how the "inside outside" concept of the book held so much more weight to it than most titles of books signifys, its so cleverly done.
there is so much more to this book but i think you will come to it better if i dont spoil it. as its just so beautiful yet painful. its heartbreaking, tragic and awful. but at the same time and i think this is due to Faye's writing, its so much more than that. so much more. i adored this book. it felt like one of those really sad songs that you listen to over and over again because they just arent sad songs, they are heart filled songs.
