3.5 stars – Solid palate cleanser

I didn’t read the first Kit Hanover book, but Whatever It Takes worked just fine as a standalone. The plot was easy to follow, the pacing moved well, and Kit is a tough, capable lead. It didn’t blow me away, but it wasn’t bad either—a decent palate cleanser between heavier reads. If you’re looking for a light crime thriller with undercover drama and a strong female protagonist, this might hit the spot.
