I really love the idea of a paranormal romance!

This book was fun to read, the story was original, and the characters were great!

It had the fun paranormal aspects that you would hope to find, like ghosts and seances, but it also touched on elements of grief and losing people close to you. I really enjoyed following the journey of the main characters as they tried to get rid of a ghost in a textbook. It was sweet and fun and great for the Halloween season.

Ghost of a Chance is a cozy, spooky-season romcom with ghosts, banter, and some spice - basically a paranormal pumpkin latte in book form. The setup is great: a mystery writer who fakes talking to ghosts colliding with a guy who’s actually being haunted? Yes, please. The first half had me hooked with its fun premise, flirty energy, and the ghostly twist.

That said, the second half started to wobble a bit. The pacing dragged, some of the emotional beats felt more told than shown, and the ending wrapped up so fast it gave me a little whiplash. A touch more editing could’ve smoothed out the repetition and added more punch to the characters’ feelings.

Still, it’s a playful, seasonal romance with a unique premise and a dash of supernatural charm. If you’re looking for a light, quirky read with a ghosty edge, this one might just be your vibe 👻💕

Thank you so much to Katherine and Afterglow Books for the advance copy, I’m so grateful for the opportunity to read early!

Kirsty is an author and Jasper works for a tv programme.

They meet at a concert where they really hit it off. When things go bump in the night and they go their separate ways until Kirsty goes on the tv show Jasper works on and she gets roped into finding out why Jasper is being haunted by someone he knew and who is the ghost haunting him ?

I really enjoyed this book, great premise of a story.

Ghost of a Chance is a cosy, spicy and playful paranormal romance with just the right balance of humour, mystery and heart. Kirsty Henson has built her career on pretending she can talk to ghosts, but when Jasper Cotton enters her life after a one night stand, she finds herself dealing with a haunting that is far too real.

Jasper is followed by the ghost of his old college roommate, whose spirit is trapped in a physics book and who has an unlikely obsession with Judge Judy. Desperate to find answers, Jasper turns to Kirsty, and together they begin to investigate. As the haunting becomes more complicated, so does their relationship, and soon sparks are flying in more ways than one.

Katherine Garbera writes with warmth and wit, blending supernatural tension with romantic chemistry. Kirsty’s secret and Jasper’s past create emotional depth while the ghostly antics add lightness and fun. The slow build of their romance is both cosy and steamy, making this an entertaining and heartwarming read.

Ghost of a Chance is a charming book that combines flirtation, ghostly surprises and the reminder that love can be stronger than fear.

This was a fun paranormal romantic comedy that is a great read for autumn 🍂

Kirsty is an author who writes cozy mysteries who gets herself in a bit of a pickle when she meets Jasper who wants her to exorcise a spirit.

I enjoyed this book and will definitely be re reading in autumn as it’s a great cozy autumn read.

I absolutely love how the hot-and-cold dynamic of the relationship leaps off the page, creating such a palpable tension. You can really feel the weight of the dread that Kirsty experiences, which pulls you deep into the story. The writing is not only beautiful but also effortlessly readable, making it a joy to follow. The plot is captivating, with each scene flowing seamlessly into the next. By the time I reached the ending, I was in tears—honestly, it was that powerful.

3.5 would recommend as a sweet, cozy & spicy book to add to your shelf this spooky season 👻

This story follows Kirsty, a writer (turned fake medium) and Jasper, our MMC who may well be being haunted 👀

I don’t know what I was expecting going into this but I loved the spooky and cosy nature of it (kinda wish I saved this arc for October because it would have been perfect!). This book had a little bit of everything which worked really well and the balance of the story, romance and spice was done so well.

I am so grateful for this arc, and if you’re needing a little spicy treat to add to your TBR this autumn, I’d recommend 👀 👻

A quirky and fun paranormal romance, with likeable protagonists & a bit of mystery. While the plot has a comic tone (a ghost who keeps turning on Judge Judy on the TV!), the characters felt grounded in the real world - they were an easy couple to root for. There was quite a bit of spice, but it wasn't gratuitous/extreme. I enjoyed this - will definitely read more by Katherine Garbera in the future. 💚

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the advance copy.

Finally I was able to down load a copy which contained more than the first three pages!

I received an ARc from NetGalley and Mills and Boon in exchange for an honest review.

This had a great premise and combined a gentle paranormal thread along with a romance between the two protagonists. I have enjoyed this author’s stories and I think she writes very well, but I found this a little slow and overwritten at times. There were occasions Imwas thinking - “get a move on already! ‘

I anticipated the ‘surprise’ very early on in the book but that was okay. An enjoyable and emotionally satisfying romance.

This is a light romance which dances around the paranormal. Greer and Nathaniel are both endearing characters with Greer a smart independent woman who is held back by the past and needs helps to move forward. Nathaniel also need to move forward and have more belief through his relationship with Greer he works to be more grounded. The relationship develops over the course of the book at a very satisfying pace. There are some lovely supporting characters that add extra charm. The book is a lovely read if you like your romance with a side of quirkiness.
