This is a perfectly serviceable P.I. novel. Apparently this is the 4th installment with this investigator and his lady friend, so there's a bit of shorthanding but not so much that a new reader can't follow along. But it's also nothing new. It was a pleasant enough read but not a compelling one. I didn't feel the need to stay up all night to see how it turned out. But it was worth finishing. More of a 3.5stars for me.
